crappy start

we move on

hey guys, dont go to bed yet!
I did not quit on the game with the Mets down 1-7. I still thought the Mets could win because Zimmermann was pulled too early and the Washington bullpen is too rotten. You guys need to not throw in the towel as much as you do.

Really can't believe this team. Never expected this. And the pitching is letting us down lately but this offense just keeps fighting and lifting.

Unreal stuff.

Just one month ago I'd have said that this game was a loss after going down 7-1. This lineup can put up bunches of runs at any time.

As for Cespedes, as Teddy KGB would say, 'Pay that man his money'.

Watched every pitch... but felt bad for both Harvey and for us when he got laid out as he did after all the hub bub.

To overcome this game instantly puts to rest any of that very discussion I was afraid of. Almost like Harvey or not these players are going to find a way to win.

What a lineup to watch. Just some really good overall hitting. Not sure I can remember a Mets team with this solid a lineup, with such good batters and good at bats all the way down the order. Even their 7-8 hitters in Flores or Tejada are professional hitters, make contact and can drive some runs. Earlier in the order, a lot of guys that can be both patient or aggressive depending upon the situation.

DRUNK NJHERDFAN RECAP SOBER THOUGHTS TOMORROW

Leaving the stadium now. Best Mets win I've ever seen, and I was at the 11-8 win against the Braves when they scored 10 run in an iinnigng. Cespedes is not human. Love how patient the team is. Love Kirk's pinch-hit. Love this team. Hope you're happy Matt; you can still redeem yourself in the playoffs. What an AB from Kirk. Just so happy.

I disagree with Gary and Ron on the Harper at bat if that terrible bunt call was successful. I walk him without a second of extra thought. Don't care about putting the winning run on base with Escobar up. Solid contact from Harper on a 99 MPH fastball can go a long way and I'm not letting your best player beat me.

Freaking awesome win.

Thank you Matt Williams for the quick hook on Zimmerman.
and bunting 3-1.
Brutal.Watching that Kirk N. shot leaving the yard, I wasn't even really reacting. Just muttered "...no...#######...way".

This team is really just something else.
When he was up, two outs, I mumbled to myself as I barely paid attention to the at bay assuming bad things and said in mumbles - great, we need Neunheiss (sp?) to be out hero? Come on Kirk . Sigh.

Home run!

I agree. Especially with their starting 3B and protector behind Harper not playing.

Much more scared of a harper bomb than the next guy clearing the bases. And much. Or sad road of harped knocking in the tying run than who was behind him as well.

With great pitchers I am very aggressive with intentional walks - as is evidence by my WIS play for those who know

Easily. No questions asked.

Just holy cow. What a game. DeGrom really hung in there, and when there was a tiny crack in the armor, this offense can pounce. Almost like basketball, when its something of a rope a dope, one team sorta a bit behind the whole way, then the other team tires in the slightest and boom.

Cespesdes is the greek god of ####### awesome, correct?

HOW SWEEEEEEEEP IT IS!!!!

Amazin'

So incredible to watch.
Yeah. Much as '86 was magical, I was also 13 freakin' years old. Thats a long ### time ago.

This is by far the best team I've seen on the field since then. And, pound for pound, right now, I'm not sure this team is far behind.

I've never seen as good and complete a player play for the Mets as Cespedes has been for this period of time. He doesn't seem to have any real flaws. Does everything either really good or great. Just a joy to watch. Offense, defense, what he brings to the clubhouse.

Nothing against Wright, and I've said it many times before, but he is a much better #2 guy, maybe even #3 in terms of offensive ability, than being the lead dog. If Wright is your best overall bat, it leaves the lineup a bit hollow.

Cespedes just seems to open things up, make everyone play better, and play in the lineup spot they are supposed to be.

Incredible. This team has something going.

Cespedes for MVP? Impossible right?
Just mentioned it on the 7 min stretch on MLB channel. First time I'd heard it.

Honestly, it's hard to argue in some ways. You had a middling team with great pitching who never had a real chance because the lineup was putrid.

This guy has been as good as anyone I can recall at the most important moment of games, time and time again. It's crazy.

Now, I know it's going to be tough to get this ownership to back the truck, but there is absolutely a business decision here as you can imagine that having Cespedes will increase revenue a good chunk with a rising team, and provide ROI on the ballfield as well, on a team where that key bat could mean a lot of wins in the standings, and more at the cash register.

I also wonder if ANY part of Cespedes might prefer to stay in NY for a very high and very competitive offer, as compared with one more year, or a couple extra million but to be vanquished to a quiet place. This guy seems to love the spotlight, and I'd imagine the Cuban population and influence in NY and on the East Coast cant hurt.

One can hope, right? Either way, what a return he's giving us.

If the Mets weren't in the Nats division I would be backing them in the playoffs, despite them being a NY team. Pretty incredibile to watch the run they've been on these last two months.

Good luck in the post season.
