***Official NY METS 2014 Thread*** (2 Viewers)

He's spoiling us. Honestly, I hope people realize what they are seeing here. He can't keep this up and we can't expect him to. I'm just hopeful we get 70% in the playoffs.

I actually kind of hope Cespedes has a week long slump later in the regular season.
I hear ya. I'm hoping that's what's going on with Harvey and DeGrom and Thor. They have not been great lately but I'm hoping its a get it out of your system thing and they will get back to dominant in a few weeks.

Yeah, he's had an OPS of over 1.000 as a Met. That's Ted Williams/Barry Bonds level, and he's never come close to that in his previous years in the MLB. Having said that, it's a lot of fun to watch him now!

This collapse would be worse than 2008.

Time to line up the staff for the post season. I would, however, not take my foot off the gas as there is home field to play for.

A big difference is that Phillies team had some serious mojo going. This year's Nats are looking more like the 2008 Mets than the 2008 Phils. And this year's Mets are just looking like a formidable team.

Mets have exceptional, deep starting pitching and a very good end of game bullpen. Much harder to sustain a losing street with those in order.

This team is playing like one of the best teams in baseball... because they are. In '08 the smoke and mirrors just couldnt last past game 145.

Was out all day.

So 3 in the 9th and 3 in the 10th to win.

Sounds good.

Gonna be a fun series with the yankees.

Perfect timing to get into a playoff frenzy.

The Mets need to calm down. We have over 30 guys scheduled to go to the game Wednesday week and I need that game to mean something.

jesus...8 in a row and deGrom tonight

weekend vs the Yankees is

Matz

Syndergaard

Harvey

So it sounds like Harvey is gonna get a bunch of 4-5inn starts rest of the way?

Let's hope its an extension of the dog days, but you have to be concerned when he's never gone this far. Fatigue certainly has to be playing a role. For the whole staff to a degree.

Hey,

remember when we used to be able to score runs??

we have tomorrow to forget about this series....time to bomb the bombers!
The team had to come up for air at some point.

My concern is with DeGrom and DePitching as we have a lot of young arms who havent pitched this much, yet.

Yep, valid concern.

Not too much we can do....I assume they will slow them down and hopefully they will be somewhat refreshed come OCT

Been camping all weekend with kids.

1 run in!

Should have been a bigger inning but 30 pitches for CC should get us into that pen soon.

Harvey looking good, even if he gets yanked in the 3rd.

what a play by Uribe and Harvey covering 1st!

I don't think I like the chick in the booth, maybe it will take some time but sounds like I am watching a UCONN/TENN NCAA womens game

I'm done, turning this #### off. I'm sorry I can't get on board with these 24-25 year old horses having their innings monitored.

I'll watch the next game.

Good overall win, albeit against a pretty awful team and a guy who is all but a guaranteed win.

Surprising nice outing from Niese. Really solid.

Just what the doctor ordered.

10 games vs under 500 teams :banned:

Sheesh

Neise only goes 6 and 88 pitches

I "get" the young guns but Neise too?
The thing is, Niese isn't good. He's always on the verge of giving up 6 runs in an inning. No problem with taking him out after 6. Magic number down to 7, let's hope they keep beating the bad teams, and we can all be Orioles fans for the next 2 days as well.

grinding these games it seems

Lets hope to pull this one off and then off to CIN/PHI and hopefully clinch.

Team seems like they are in a bit of a funk since getting off to such a big lead.

Looking forward to when these games really matter, hopefully it starts in the playoffs and not next week

Total loss of focus and energy. Expected, I suppose but we need to cinch this up, finish the decompress and prep for the post season.

PS: Go O-R-I-O-L-E-S!!!!!! The spirit of Kikohw-Ahlahnzohw
