Not sure if anyone knows this but Ill ask.

Just got the 10 club email about the pop up store in NYC. Says they will have all the merch they plan to sell in Brooklyn. Do you think this includes posters. I would hate to get to Barclays and find out all the posters sold at Volvum store 3 days earlier. Might necessitate a trip into the city

It wouldn't surprise me if they let them sell out before anyone sets foot in the venue. In the past they've definitely shown a lack of concern over the scarcity/demand with posters, letting people buy 20 at a time for example, and next day they're up on Ebay for $125 a pop. Every tour with them is a crapshoot with that kind of stuff.

Actually, I think the opposite...typically, they sell out at the venue; but they've made them available online usually a few weeks or so after that.

The more I listen, I think Sirens is just amazing. I lean more toward their harder songs, but this is a masterpiece IMO.

I have turned the corner and I am now loving Sirens.
Could swear I heard a different version on the radio today. Either I'm crazy or it had a few more layers- more guitar, harmonies and keyboard.

I can't find it anywhere. Anyone else, or am I :loco: ??
Not sure, but in the leaked files, I noticed that the file name for "Sirens" is "Sirens2"

Maybe that has something to it  :oldunsure:

Have you listened to Sirens2??

Got to chat some PJ with Steve Gleason, Saints special teams cult hero for blocking a punt for a TD vs. the Falcons a minute into the first game back to the dome after Katrina (loudest the dome has ever been).

Gleason has ALS, you might have seen this segment on him before the Super Bowl. He grew up around Seattle and met McCready somehow and played Tamborene at PJ20 during Rockin in the Free World. We have a mutual friend, so I knew he was a die hard...the ALS has really gotten to him, he's in a motorized wheelchair and it was sort of difficult to hear some of what he was saying, but he genuinely lit up when I mentioned Pearl Jam. He told me a few stories of how awesome Mike was and that the entire band sent him an autographed PJ20 book for his birthday.

That was pretty moving! So the E:60 will be an extended version of that I guess?

The NFL might have "settled" with the players, but if they don't start putting some of their infinite resources into fighting ALS they really are ####bags.

yep (on both accounts)

Ugh...

Good female friend of mine works in the industry is and is pretty well connected was trying to get me to hit Barclays since I'm going to be in that part of the country that weekend anyway for a wedding. Couldn't make the logistics work. SHe just messaged me... she had lined up all access backstage. " I am hanging with their tour manager and production crew." Ugh.

Reminds me of the time a drummer buddy of mine invited me to go with him to a Chili Peppers show in Arkansas last year. Couldn't go. He didn't tell me he was invited by Chad Smith to hang all access/on stage for his (Chad's) birthday and party with the band after. :hot:

That's two pretty epic misses in once 12 month-ish period

Just got my email confirmation for Brooklyn

no opener
I forgot what night you're going to...Saturday here.
Okay- you are going Saturday as well. I was in a Wrigley fog when you last told me. :banned:

Tix available at will call @ 2:30, gates open @ 6:30 and with no opener- they go on @ 7:30. FYI- the bar I linked a ways back is only 9 minutes walk from Barclays. I'm thinking grab tix and late lunch/early dinner pre show. And I'm definitely leaning towards mass transit rather than trying to park around there. From what I've seen I don't want to park around there unless someone knows better...

Im going Friday the 18th. Parking in the area is not that bad. I dont know if there is parking around there but the neighborhood is not that bad (anymore)

 Well, if you choose to scope out that bar, let me know. And one thing I DO know is that the trains run right up under there...

really enjoying it so far

ETA: one of the songs sounds a lot like arms aloft

Not sure i love closing it out with three slower songs. Need to listen again. The last song reminds me of something from into the wild.

So not one opening act? I've never heard of a concert like that. Think a lot of people are gonna miss a portion of this show. I planned on going in around 845 glad I checked this thread.

A friend of mine recently married the daughter of a former PGH Pirate. Long story short his father in law knows Eddie and he sent me a pic of his wife with Eddie from awhile ago and said "we might get backstage this Friday, you guys want to join us if we can bring 2 more"? My answer was yes.

Phish.

Wondering if they'll consistently get 30+ songs ~ 3hrs for the 7:30 shows.

I know we saw it on the tracklist a month ago, but anyone still as surprised as I am that Sleeping By Myself is on Lightning Bolt? The last song cut wouldn't have been a better choice?

Cool album. Definitely some unique tunes for them, and some that just aren't right unless you crank the volume.

I'm glad my shows aren't for a few weeks so I can learn the words. Yep, I'm that guy you don't want behind you at the show.

Going to see them on Friday at Consol, took the day off from work so I can pre-game properly, so pumped for this show...

Okay- the version of Sirens being streamed on iTunes is definitely more lush and produced than the "Official Music Video" version that's been on YouTube. Kinda reminds me of what Martin did to Let It Be in the studio after the Beatles left. Sweet, but the original version stood on it's own...

I'm leaning towards the more stripped down version.

Just saw the interview and WOW. Damn near cried in my cubicle. Very moving when Gleason asks Eddie about his father.
Wow, very moving.

Made me want to watch the blocked punt again. I'll never forget that game. I didn't think the Saints had a snowball's chance in hell of beating the Falcons. I'll never forget the fans that night. Probably one of the most exciting games I've ever seen.

Yeah I was kinda hoping they'd show more on E:60 but it's just as well they didn't... with work being shut down and biggie's kid's situation I'm depressed enough!

Anyone listen to the town hall on Pearl Jam radio? I listened to about 20 mins worth. Some pretty bad questions. I recorded it and will listen to the rest later.
