Awesome show! A bit more mellow than last night, but of course great. Got the Last Kiss that was skipped from last night's setlist. The band dedicated it to the folks behind the stage, and played it facing them. Present Tense! Band sounds great and is feeding well off the crowd's energy.

I thought Chris Cornell really kicked ### on Footsteps!
Totally agree.

I don't know who Robin Pecknold is but his version of Corduroy was pretty meh. There were a whole bunch of other songs that would have fit him better.
Yeah my first thought was, who is this non-rock star singing the rock star song? My second thought was, this blows. Dierks Bentley was no better.

Also, Jimmy Fallon still doesn't do it for me.

I don't understand his whole all black band thing. NTTAWWT. It's just that Fallon is pretty damn white as white guys go. What's the hook?
Well, they aren't really his band. They are The Roots. He didn't pick a bunch of black dudes to be in a band. They are the band for his show, but they are a pretty damn famous hip hop band.

Nevermiiind...

He likes them, asked them, and they said yes. Not much to get. I suppose there is something to the NYC angle; The Roots, JF, and his show are all NYC institutions.

NY's claiming The Roots now?

My bad. That's not the first time I've made that mistake. Always used to get Kip Malone and Questlove mixed up and I associate TV on the Radio with Brooklyn. At least I think that's why that happens.

I figured Joe Buck was a Pearl jam Fan given he was sitting about 5-10 rows behind me at a show in St Louis a couple years ago. That was until last night during Game 2 of the World Series coming out of a commercial break.

"And that is Pearl jam with their new song "Animal" - Joe Buck

####### idiot... I hate Joe Buck.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to get at lol, but I think you're underestimating Fallon's hip factor.

I don't dislike Fallon- the earnest, seemingly semi-prepared manner in which he carrys himself on his show is kinda endearing. Much like Carson. I know that he hails from Brooklyn and all, but he grew up in Saugerties, NY. His hip factor is decidedly understated...

Yikes. That is pretty bad. I despise him too.

I don't like Joe Buck but he is a fan. He is on one of the celebrity "promos" on the Sirius XM Pearl Jam channel.

Anyone else going to CLT besides Slapdash and I? Want to meet up before the show? Slapdash suggested Queen City Q. I'm not familiar with what is around the arena.

Drunk in Hartford. Never been here before, but it doesn't seem like the armpit it's perturbed to be. I turned 40 today and I'm ready for Pearl Jam to rock my lame ###. Don't care what songs they play, just looking for a great show!

My Philly 2 mini-review, this from the viewpoint of a moderate fan

(full disclosure: this was my third PJ show - Philly 10/3/2005 and NJ 6/3/2006 were the other two - so it had been a while since I saw them live. While I know a few songs past the radio hits, I'll still confuse song titles at times and may need the song to get to the chorus to figure out the name).

I'll do part of this as a spoiler as I refer to the opening song and I know that some people may not want to know that information.

(1) Pendulum is a great opener - burying it later in the setlist would be a mistake
Back to the non-spoiler review...

(2) New material comes across very good - in particular, I loved Lightning Bolt live but thought that the album version was just OK. Sirens, Infallible, Pendulum, and Mind Your Manners were just as excellent and I liked those songs best from the new album. In my opinion, all were slotted nicely alongside the older PJ material.
(3) As I am not a HUGE PJ fan, I was happy to get Better Man and Y. Ledbetter as those are two of my favorite PJ songs.
(4) As I am a HUGE Bruce fan, really appreciate the night-to-night diversity of the setlist. Never pulled out the phone to check Setlist.FM once during the show, just rode along song-by-song. I'm good with only getting some of the hits or deep cuts, but not all - makes for a better experience in my opinion as I chase "this song" or "that song".
(5) Would have LOVED to see a Bruce guest spot (he was in the building) as Eddie's guest spot in Oct 2004 at a Bruce show in NJ to play No Surrender/Better Man is one of my favorite concert viewing moments.
(6) Amongst the Waves was my "new" find during the show - I had heard it before and this was my first time seeing it live. I could see it quickly becoming another favorite.

Bottom line: Pearl Jam is a great band to see live and they are at the top of their game right now. If you are on the fence about seeing this show and have never seen them before, go.

Amazingly I've been to 25+ shows including those two, and both are easily in my top 5. Just great setlists for both, and for the NJ show I was 8th row dead center. That one may be my favorite of all time.

I was right behind you. Got a major buzz on at that show just breathing deeply...

Great show, of course! The crowd took a little while to get warmed up but got into it eventually.. the encores were electric.. Man of the Hour for LR sounded great, then Nothingman as well which the crowd really got into, and from there it was all full tilt.

Funny, I said on the way up they'd probably play a hastily rehearsed Velvet Underground song, and sure enough...

31. Alive
