Same here. My PJ moratorium is about to be lifted and I can't wait...especially after accidentally :goodposting: seeing some of the early returns (in here).I have an itch, to go to Seattle on Monday...
Come to Philly instead :lmao:

Can't figure it out, but there's a very specific musical reference point that the line:

"Now Johnny he be havin' lots of women..."

hits for me in Johnny Guitar, but I can't figure it out

Driving me nuts

First I thought Ramones but that's not right; then maybe Lou Reed, but that's not it either...My latest idea was that it was actually Jim Caroll-esque, but I don't know if that's just because he's fresh in my mid due to his recent death

Anyone hear another artist in that line's delivery?
Tom Waits?
Good suggestion, but noIt actually just came to me like 5 kminutes ago

Sounds a ton like Tim Armstrong of Rancid on those two lines IMO

Was driving me nuts every time I heard it

Very pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the album on the first listen. I'm one that usually takes a few listens before I really like anything. This is good stuff. Like others have said, Matt really shines here. And there's still some snippets of McCready shining through like in Amongst the Waves.

Whatever happened with last year's Christmas single? Wasn't it supposed to be two new tracks? Were they crap or what?
they were Santa Cruz, which was an Eddie solo song that was OK and a cover with Corin Tucker of Sleater Kinney of the John Doe song Garden State
I never saw it hit anywhere. You ten clubbers really kept it under wraps this time.
I'll send them to you when I get home tonight.

I am not sure I need to do this right now but is there anyone who wants to trade their Friday or Saturday tickets for Wednesday tix

My athletic director scheduled my JV finals for the Wednesday show. I am trying to get him to move it and who knows if we will get there but dont want to have to worry about it

Again, its a last resort but Im trying to figure out all my options

Its 2 definite, possibly 4 tix

So I bought the disc at Target today. A little disappointed to see no information on the two show download. I guess keep my receipt? Maybe it has a number or something on it somewhere?

Put the disc in your computer. Open the CD from My Computer or Windows Explorer. There should be a Backspacer icon. Double click to open it, and you will get a menu that you download the shows from (upper left).

What are the shows you can dl?

I went to a Super Target this morning and they knew nothing about a special Target Backspacer Rock Band package. I did see the one with the concert shows.

Ghetto Target by my house didn't even have the album out at all. Might make a run to the next town over later on. Wouldn't mind getting a T-shirt but from the looks of things those are real hard to come by.

Went over to the big store in Columbia, which is listed on the website as having the shirts. They had never heard of the T-shirts, acted like I was crazy. Also no Rock Band special. Got the regular CD with the 2 live downloads. They also had the Fixer 7", not sure what I would do with that.

Concerts available

I just got the first two.. whatever... I know I've heard all of the 06-08

The message pit nerds are going ape#### over the T-shirts  I think PJ just did that to mess with everybody. Of course I drove half an hour to try and get one.

Got the tshirt with purchase here in IL. Not sure why, but I feel tremendously dooshy when I wear a t-shirt of a huge/popular band, so I havent bought a PJ tshirt since the black and white stickman in 1992. This t shirt is pretty decent though..

Picked up the CD this weekend as well. The first half of the CD is growing on me rapidly, the second half is OK.

I'm really disappointed with it being only 36 minutes, though.

Can somebody list these out? Can't view that from work...tia

I have tickets for Tuesday night. Any ideas what time they take the stage?

I saw them play MSG last time around but don't recall what time they started.

Seattle hometown gig should be awesome!

My guess would be around 8:30 or soBut they're playing tonight also, so you should be able to get a good idea from that

Just don't wear a "NO EVEN FLOW" shirt. That defines dooshy.

Here is my take first time thru

I like it, but as others have said, there seems to be something a bit off. i dont know if it was rushed or they were experimenting but it is not the PJ sound I am accustomed to.

Songs 1-3 (dont know song titles yet) sound like a Punk bands second album where they want to get a bit more musical then the 3 chords they played on the first album

Song 4 was a good one but the best three songs on the album so far for me were 5-7. I absolutely loved 5 and 6-7 flowed nicely with each other.

8-11 I liked better then 1-3.

So I guess I liked the middle of the album the best.

It was short. I felt like this was disc 1 of what should be a 2 disc set.

I liked it and I am sure that after I listen to it a lot, I will get more into all the songs

My wife got it for me yesterday after I went to 2 Targets that did not get it. This seems like a weird way to distribute a new album but I got one. My wife said she didnt see any with T Shirts or she would have gotten it for me

Anyone?Called my athletic director and he said lets cross that bridge if my team makes it:crossesfingers:

Hell, it beats hearing No More for the 30th time

I REALLY like the layout of the set. I haven't seen it before (I'm not a setlist maniac, I don't study them, etc.) but Alive would be sweet as the closer.

Ya that is cool if you can get it. Doesn't happen alot.Anyone know if Indifference included Harper? Rumors were floating yesterday pre-show, obviously.

Solid setlist in my opinion for the first one post album. They won't always play 8 that's for sure, although if they did night 1 in Philly I'd be stoked!

Just read the Just Breathe and The End has a string quartet, including Cameron's wife. Not sure if its for Seattle only, but that would be pretty cool. Plus, horn section for The Real Me!

So here I am at some dive hotel underneath the Space Needle. I hit the pick 6 at Del Mar two weeks ago and am spending every last penny. Last night's show was ####### great. I settled in side-stage next to my man, Mike. Good times at my favorite spot.

NDLS, Canada Mike and DJ Matt were telling stories about you this morning -- they say hi, and Matt says go Yankees (didn't want to type that).

My first listen of the album was on the plane here. Awesome, worth the wait. Kind of surreal. Crashed out for an hour, woke up groggy and put the headphones on. Sounds silly but I won't forget it. Perfect time for it, looking down at the Pacific coastline, going into Seattle. Beautiful, clear day, great shot of Mount Rainer. Might get up to 90 today! Feel so lucky to be able to do this ####. Anyway, enough of that...

I'm not good at reviews because I can't ignore my bias but I think the album is awesome. Really diggin' Force of Nature, what a great song. Other favorites include Unthought Known and Just Breathe. Guess I like that Into the Wild stuff. Oh, and of course, Got Some, listening to that now... Ed's voice sounds insane.

Had to get my passport Fedex'd today for the Vancouver show. I'll be going to the rest of these in the west, save for Salt Lake. After it all, rehab...

Anyway, you guys are in for something special come Philly time. Time for a marg, later... :bye: :bowtie:

Probably never, lol.Wow, No Way! Awesome...These two sets really leave me feeling warm and cozy about Philly, not that I wasn't already I suppose! They are gonna mix it up for sure...I wish I was going to all 4 now.The only new songs not played are Speed of Sound (really no loss for me there) and Force of Nature. FoN is growing on me for sure, but I think it's still stuck in 10th position of my favorite tracks off Backspacer. Might be there for a long time too. Also, regarding my Opener>Corduroy>Supersonic thought from last week....I don't think that is happening (generally speaking) and last night may confirm it. The more I listened to the album it definitely shifted more towards a Comatose-type placement in the set (1st/2nd encore, maybe late 1st set). GSMF, Got Some, and The Fixer are more early set tunes. I meant to bump that post before Seattle I, but I never did.

I would piss myself if they played this set when I was in attendance. Replace All Night with Smile or Red Mosquito, and I might s**t myself.

Not a huge fan of Backspacer, but it's not bad. Reminds me of the Ramones for some reason. As mentioned, missing some Mike and some Eddie anger. I liked them better with Bush in the White House. Interesting review on AllMusic saying that this is their "party" album and they're having fun and letting loose. Probably true, but I like them better angry. :lmao:

What songs remind you of the Ramone's? I'm not big into them really, so I don't know for sure, but I have a hard time imagining the Ramone's on about 3/4's of this album. I'm also enjoying the shortage of political lyrics for once. As I believe TU mentioned, at times in the past it seemed forced.

I am not sure I would say Ramones per say but it has that punk feel. I think its about the tempo.
