I miss the seniority (133XXX). Got front row dead center for the New Orleans show in 2003. :headbang:ETA: no idea on how the new stuff will work...but I assume it will benefit those who can only go to a few shows. Those who attend entire tour legs will probably get crappy tickets for some and good ones for others.
There are too many members and too few shows per tour for anyone to expect the fan club to hook them up with prime seating for multiple shows in a tour. The last time I was within 10 rows was in 2006, and that was only because I hooked up with someone on the message board with a low number who had an extra. When they started changing the system, I found myself either deep on the floor or along the sides in the lower level. Then on the most recent tours I got completely shut out because of the server crashes. If I can pick 3 shows within a day's drive, not have to deal with hitting <submit> for 2 hours, and have a good chance of scoring seats for one of the three shows, I'll be very happy.
When did they scrap the senioroty? I thought that was still part of the deal. The last show that came through MN was Avocado, and I thought those seats were based on seniority. My good buddy with a low number was in the 3rd row floor, and I was on the side lower level.

Rows 1-2 and 9-10 are random...the rest is seniority based I believe.

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder and Glen Hansard recorded a few new songs together last year that they will polish and release later this year. Hansard has been opening for Vedder since 2011 and the two have become good friends. Hansard told Time Out Sydney that he first started talking to Vedder after a fan committed suicide at one of his shows. Vedder had also dealt with deaths at a Pearl Jam show in 2000 so he called Hansard to help him deal with it, “But Eddie was tryin’ to help me through something that I didn’t understand how to deal with. I was so struck by the amount of heart he showed, he was so willing to hear me out.”

I never tried to purchase those fake tickets. Pretty sure i will never get tickets again
I tried and got shut out. Of couse I have no idea of their methodology, how many fake tickets were available for each show, etc etc. But, I have a feeling that a lot of people got shut out and if one of their hopes was to get people excited about the new method, that idea crashed and burned. There are going to be a lot of people po'd if they get shut out of tickets when they are members of the fan club.

It really is unbelievable that they still can't get this right. I'm pretty sure there are other web sites where people purchase event tickets. Maybe hire someone who worked at one of those sites as a consultant? Really pathetic.

Here's where they screwed up in my opinion...now that member numbers have reached 500XXX, they know that if they base ticket allocations strictly on seniority, most members who joined over the past few years will get shut out. This is exacerbated by the fact that there are fewer and fewer dates with every tour. So, the old system: open it up for a week or two, everyone submits their requests, highest seniority gets seats until we run out, everyone else is SOL. Then the new system, I forget when it started, 2003? : We have one crappy server, tickets go on sale Saturday at 10AM, first come first served until they're gone. Seat assignments are still based on seniority, but member numbers 000001 through 500000 have an equal chance of getting tickets or getting shut out, and even if you end up getting tickets, you still have to endure two hours of <submit> <timed out> <submit> <sorry, cart is empty>.My understanding of this latest system is they are doing away with FCFS. It makes me wonder if they will start to do longer tours again to accommodate everyone, and how will seniority be weighted in the whole process.

I assumed NOBODY was going get "tickets" for the fake tour. They made you put your cc# in and there was $$$ tied to each entry. If you got a positive return, and the system was running as it would be for a real tour (which is what they were testing), the $$$ would have been charged, no?Based on what I'm reading here, I guess I'm wrong and some people did get positive confirmation emails?

How did you come to ask Bob Pollard to open for Pearl Jam on your recent tour?At the beginning of making this record, when we were wondering where it was all going to go, Guided By Voices was playing down the road; it was their last Seattle show. I had never seen them. Me and (producer) Adam Kasper had talked about going, but when it came down to it, we were tired from working, but we still made it over there. They played for three-and-a-half hours. We went from being tired and beat to having one of the greatest musical experiences of our lives. Just having guitars and drums and vocals and beer—with those elements, they just take you off the planet. And what’s interesting is that the day we finished mixing our new record, Robert Pollard was playing solo. So we went over and saw him. It made us realize how long it took us to make the record. So he kind of bookended our record-making experience. And it really inspired me, just how he is.

I didnt get any emails about this. Not that I can go anyway. But hoping they hit the garden or barclays center. Or even NJ

I'm going to wait to see the other dates before I pull the trigger on Wrigley or not. I could be mistaken, but I thought the consensus was that the sound for concerts sucked there

You think the Fall announcement is coming within the next 6 days? I think they pull what they always pull...announcing everything too far apart (even legs of tours) to be able to properly plan. It's not like the majority of the base is 18 and free these days. Maybe they finally get it right.

From PJ boards:
this isn't "epic". the venue doesn't make the show. this is a gigantic outdoor stadium not built with music in mind. i've seen mccartney and dave matthews band, and roger waters there -- the sound and sight lines suck. i would much rather be going to a PJ show at alpine valley or even indoors at one of the local arenas.

No, I meant to decide where I'm going to go see them (assuming they don't come to New Orleans). I'm definitely not going to be putting my name in the hat for 10c Chicago tix. At least them telling us that there will be a fall US tour is nice. In the past, they wouldn've have done that. Since I've got to drop around $400 in estimated flights, I'd rather go somewhere where I can catch multiple shows.

With the new ticketing system, I'm not going to take a "wait and see approach." They don't tour enough for me to be patient for a better opportunity.Besides, I've never been in Wrigley field. I'd like to see it and a PJ concert is a much better reason than a Cubs game.

yeah, understand...but driveable distance for you, right?

Where would I even go to enter the drawing. Figure if I can get the tickets, someone here can go if they strike out

Are you in the 10C? You should have received an email. If not, public sale is Feb 9th 10am.Just like in the past, the 10C tickets are not in your hand before the day of show. Need photo ID to pick them up.

True, 6 hour drive or a cheap flight for me.You're right, I probably wouldn't be entering if this was significantly further. Well, I'd like to think so, but I'd probably also be trying to figure out how to make it work. PJ20 was just such an amazing show, I can't wait to see them again.

I am in 10c but no email. If that is the case, I won't even bother. Thanks
Me too. And no email either. :confused:ETA: Just figured out I had an old email address on the account and so never realized my membership lapsed. 20 years down the drain.

Certainly worth a pity email to the 10C. They've had a heart in the past on issues like that. Might help your case if u have no interest in Chi or Ont.

Email sent. We'll see what they say. I made it clear I wasn't trying to get tickets for those shows.

Wow, the 10C ####tards still can't get it right. I put in a request for Wrigley, first choice being pit general admission, second choice lower bowl reserved. The total said $336 for the two pairs of tickets, so I made sure there was a two-ticket limit and would only be charged for a single pair. Then I entered the drawing using my debit card. Surely they won't charge my card until the actual drawing next week, right? You guessed it, there is already a $336 hold on my checking account. :wall: ####### morons, after getting shut out so many times and still running into crap like this, it makes me want to not even bother trying to get tickets anymore.

Sounds like they did exactly as they said they'd do:When entering the drawing your card will only be AUTHORIZED, not charged. An authorization is a temporary freeze of funds. It is not an actual charge. If your name is selected in the drawing the authorization will become an actual charge. However if your name is not selected, we will cancel the authorization releasing the funds back to your card.

NOt sure what else they could really doIt would be an even worse logistical nightmare to have a bunch of people get selected, only to have their payments not go through. Plus it provides a disincentive for people to try and game the system through multiple entries with multiple cards, etcGreat news on the # restoration BTM!

Don't give a rip about the sound. Chicago - Wrigley on a Friday night??Hotel is booked, but I better get some good seats, better than AV.Ah, but enough about my 1st world problems...Hola, internet friends!

I think the issue here is that while there is a two ticket limit, the are preauthorizing for people winning four or six tickets. Granted, this, I assume, is due to it probably having to be re-coded for just this one show as most shows will just have a single fan club option. However, they could have made it clear that if you select multiple ticket options, you will be pre authorized for all selections even though you can only win one of them. For a CC, this is no big deal, but for people using debit cards (who shouldn't in the future), a pre authorization effectively takes the money out of your account until it is released, and I believe it takes even longer for it to be released from a debit card.

Cubs GM Theo Epstein's favorite PJ songs:http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/14907_10151388110482485_1023601160_n.pngI like his list a lotAlso, a great picture

I said screw it and pulled the trigger on Chicago late last night. GA Field only, no 2nd choice. I get some of the issues raised but that's offset for me by knowing what Vedder will be like in the middle of Wrigley for a night. To be on that field watching it would be pretty cool.

New pre-PJ Eddie Vedder Demos foundLong story short...2 "new" songs to the PJ die hards...better quality releases for "existing stuff"
From 1988 to 1989, future Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder recorded a few four-song demo tapes that are fairly well-known among the hardcore fans. The earliest tapes were solo recordings, and the latter ones came out of recording sessions with his pre-PJ San Diego band Bad Radio. These recordings have made their way over the years, as some of the old cheap tapes that Vedder would buy in bulk made it into the hands of collectors with the tools to digitize them.In addition to a group of originals (which included a very early version of Betterman), the tapes in circulation also included a somber cover of Bruce Springsteen’s One Step Up, an early indicator of Vedder’s fondness for The Boss. It’s been a long time since anything “new” has surfaced, but Antiquiet recently came into possession of a direct copy of a tape that Eddie dubbed for a co-worker at his old job at San Diego Petroleum, somewhere in range of late 1989 or early 1990. On it we found thirteen tracks, including a couple entirely “new” recordings (to the PJ fanbase at least), a few familiar ones, and most substantially, far more listenable dubs of both 1989 Bad Radio demos. In addition to cleaner-sounding recordings than anything we’ve heard before, other gems on the tape worth mentioning are a falsetto-laden karaoke-machine cover of Something Inside So Strong, a track made famous by Kenny Rogers, as well as a brief, lighthearted cover of Sam Cooke’s Wonderful World. Fans seeing I’m Alive on the tracklist shouldn’t confuse the boisterous and rather comical track with Pearl Jam’s signature single Alive, as this particular song takes issue with rap music and profound lyrical expectations rather than an Oedipal tale of a fatherless child.

Is there a way to rip these songs, or can you only listen to them online?
