Hard to Imagine

  ,
Sad

, Education, Fatal, All Night, Undone (Lost Dogs rarities)
-Black Red Yellow (deserves it's own Lost Dogs spot)
-Army Reserve (good chance in DC)
-Parachutes, Big Wave,
Come Back
   (others from Avocado)
-Masters of War, Soldier Of Love, Throw Your Arms Around Me, Crown of Thorns (randoms)

2nd encore: No More, Last Kiss, Crazy Mary, Alive, All Along The Watchtower, Yellow Ledbetter/Star Spangled Banner
GREAT show. Might be the longest set outside of Bonaroo...I think it was about 2.5 hours. I definitely can tell the sound in the VC is not great, but once they get going you don't really think about it. Hoping the soundboard does this show it's justice. Seats were solid....lower bowl on the side four rows up, I'd say about 25 rows from the stage looking at the floor. Here's my book, trying to keep it short.......
-- Was totally pumped to get Hard To Imagine. Definitely did not think we'd get that opener after they opened with it in Camden.
-- Severed Hand -> Hail Hail -> Do The Evolution ......just the way I like the show to get going! They have so many great songs to plug in there...glad to see DTE early in the set as I knew that meant some great stuff later.
-- Evacuation was only played for part of the first verse. Mike had no sound the entire song and some people on the message boards are saying Stone broke a string and had no sound. I'm not so sure about that with Stone, but I can't say either way for sure. Mike looked like he quit the band for a few moments there and Ed was not happy with this either.
-- Corduroy saved the Evacuation botch because they really ripped into it!
-- "I" trilogy....freaking great. Big fan of I Got ####.
-- Daughter didn't have a tag, did some chanting with Ed though (iirc, the beer was getting to me at this point).
-- Even Flow, funny I'd mention it here as I'm all for skipping this song. But, I have to say more than once that Mike was money (as he is most of the time) Monday night. His solo here sounded pretty fresh to me.
-- "U" trilogy....again this was great. Ed said something like "All right, these next three are all about YOU." Went up to grab another beer and they closed the line at 10pm without grandfathering the rest of the line. People were pissed! I don't get how you don't serve everyone who was standing there for 5 minutes. Good thing is, the sound was awesome even in the beer line.
-- 1st encore was an amazing rollercoaster ride. Tough to put it all into words. Thought for sure when I heard Green Disease earlier that I would not get Grievance....so I was FIRED up during this song. Quite possibly made this show for me, I love that song live. Mike was awesome yet again during Black, can't wait to hear that again. And the really crushed RVM, it was amazing.
-- Looking at the time after the 1st encore, I thought we were in for a short 2nd encore...something like No More, filler song, Alive, YL. Boy was I wrong. Didn't care to see No More, but it was actually very good and I'm glad I witnessed it this tour (I'm sure it goes away in the future). Last Kiss, while not my favorite, WAS VERY GOOD for some strange reason. They played it to the rear folks with Matt having a makeshift drum kit behind his normal kit, Ed stood on Matt's main drum platform the entire song, and the rest of the band faced the rear crowd too. I love Crazy Mary live, Mike and Boom really went at it again. Thought for sure Watchtower was only for Bonaroo, so another great suprise! Ed brought up a 12ish year old boy during the early stages of the song, gave him his guitar, and the kid rocked out till the end. Ed was coaching him up and the band looked very interested in what was happening, they were all having alot of fun. Ed introduced the band after the song and the kid got a huge ovation with his arms raised, pretty spine tingling moment. I thought that was it....then YL started and I knew we were about done. Mike played the single greatest version of SSB that I've ever heard him play. The crowd was going nuts!
Bobcat's firsts = Hard to Imagine, I'm Open, Come Back, Sad, and No More. Pretty darn good as my list is getting thin. There were a few songs I heard for just the second time also....Watchtower, Who You Are, Light Years, Evacuation (partial), and U. Very unique show from my perspective and I'm glad I got to make the trip. Now I can't wait for the booter.
