What's the diff between > and -> on the setlists? Always wondered that.

For ex

Set 3: Meatstick, Blaze On -> Possum > Cities > Light > 555,

The second set last night gave a clear definition of the band in 2015. Big crunchy jams, interesting segues, and tremendous patience in building the jams. That's the best I've ever heard them play. Great ending to a super fun festival.

Magnaball looks great. Shoulda did it, one of these years I'll hit a fest.

Just got done with my first real close listen to Blossom after several partial, split up, listens. While there were many solid highlights for me earlier in the show, once Trey echoed "time to put your wingsuit on" midway through Wingsuit, the show bounced into another dimension for the rest of the evening. Pretty much what I call on fire. Simple as that, really.

Magnaball was one of the best musical weekends of my life. Been seeing this band for 23 years and that was an all-timer for me.

The Bathtub Gin, Tweezer>Caspian(>Tweezer), Martian Monster sandwich.... So damned good.

Phish is at another career peak right now. Miss them at your own risk.

I saw them in Raleigh and they were crazy tight and I caught a stream this weekend and it was more of the same.

Did you go to Big Cypress because that entire experience for me was simply amazing.

Also it should be noted that yes they certainly are at a peak right now but its a different peak from say 20 years ago. They have re-invented themselves after 10 or so years of sloppy music and playing. They are tight, no two ways about it but they are just a different band then I remember from 93-99. With years 95 and 98 being off the charts for the craziness they pulled off. I think its a testament to just how talented and focused these guys are as a group.

Phish is my absolute most favorite band of all time but I have no problem saying this. This Mexico run they just announced feels like the GD50 money grab. Cheapest rooms are around $1500-4000 for 4 nights not including air fare or anything else. Add to the fact that you only have a week or so to try and purchase them just seems unphish like.

It is an all-inclusive resort so all food and booze is included in those prices. Several other jam bands have been doing similar trips for years. I think for the bands it is a nice reward for their crews and family. My guess is Phish made a ton more money off of Magnaball than they will these Mexico shows.

I wouldn't say its a money grab, seems like bands are just doing stuff like this these days. Maybe its fun for them? I certainly can't justify it.

Now if a Mexico resort trip had been in the works...HONEY, NOW'S THE TIME TO BOOK IT!

I hunted high and low to determine whether booze was included which, at an all-inclusive, you'd assume it is. Didn't find anything though. With booze, food, four nights at a swank beachfront resort plus three nights of concerts, I can live with a price tag north of $1600. You've just got to drink and eat it up to make it worthwhile. A $200 food/bar tab in one day seems pretty doable. But I get the "unPhishiness" of it. Feels weird.

I dont see any way you can do this trip for $1600. Theres airfare etc and activities off resort are expensive. If there was more notice I probably could work it out with the wife but 8 days away seems tight. I think a lot of phans are pissed because they handed to this over to a corporation and they seem to be trying to maximize profits off of the most loyal fans. As you say very "unphishy" of them.

This I totally doubt as Phish funds all their festivals with this Mexico trip they went 3rd party and I would guess they are each just getting a lump sum for playing.

The cheapest tix are $1640. I'm not even factoring in the flight. My point was that if you chalk up $200 for the Phish shows, $200 per night for the hotel and $200 per day for food/drink, the price is justifiable. Total cost will definitely come in over 2K.

Yeah but you kindof have to figure in the flights. $200 for food and drink is pretty extreme as well. I also think that $1640 was splitting the room with 4 people total. that would suck balls. Look I am jealous I cannot go due to the timing and the money factor but this just feels way off for this band.

Once I have some time I will price out the plane tickets and travel time to just see what we are looking at. I am guessing for me (eastern NC) I will have to make multiple connections and probably a full travel day coming and go pushing this trip to 6ish days. Really hard with kids.

Oh well I am sure its going to be fun

Wow, night three of ****'s looked epic. I stayed up to watch the first set and then woke up to see the 2nd set smack down and crazy encore. Looking forward to streaming it today. Any FBGs attend?

I went Friday and Sat, but flew home yesterday. I knew Sunday was going to be a monster based on Saturday's show being such a disappointment, but couldn't justify 3 days away from the family for shows.

Oof. "Never miss a Sunday show."

But from where I was sitting on my couch, I wouldn't call Saturday a disappointment. Not a good vibe at the venue?

MMJ has been doing "One Big Holiday" for a few years now. I wish I could go. Of course Phish will make money, but money grab label is kinda funny imo. Have you guys ever been to an all inclusive? It's phrakin great.

Trying to decide if this Mexico thing is worth it. Really tempted. Flights from here are only 350 bucks, so we are talking 2 grand total.

I decided to pass on Mexico. I'm hearing that there could be a winter tour afterwards. Hampton is most likely on the docket so I'll hit those shows.

Hampton would rule but I dont see it. Without looking it up I would guess its been 10 years since they did a winter tour

Another Fluffhead sign on ESPN College coverage today, with the "A" shaped like U of Arizona logo.

What's next, Alumni Blues, or keep the Fluffhead trend going?

I landed 2 floor tix for the 1/1 show at MSG via the lottery, also wanted 12/31 but better than nothing. Not crazy about the floor but whatever.

JTC, emailed you as you have right of first refusal on my extra and can have both if i can't pull off a quick trip to the big city.

Rallying for Wed and Saturday MSG plus After show of .moe (ha ha) Saturday night....

Gonna party like it's 1999..................... and pay for it later.

Another good show tonight. Typical for 2015: a patient Stash, interesting Undermind, fat Fuego, nice Light. Only the encore underwhelmed. I'm expecting a monster Tweezer tomorrow.
