I'm heading to the Colorado shows for the first time.  Anyone here going?

Put in one request for Halloween.

I figure I'll let the ticket gods decide my fall tour fate.

Stinks there's no northeast dates. Yes, I know, we're spoiled rotten over here.

It's been rough living in Hawaii and only getting to 5-7 shows a year.  At least there is couch tour

haha, man you get to couch tour at 2pm!
It is kind of awesome, it makes for a good afternoon at the office (I have a tv and setup) and on the weekends it doesn't interfere with evening plans.  Though it does indirectly because I may get a bit inebriated by 5pm.

Couch tour realy is a game changer and makes missing the phun a whole lot easier.  I'll be texting with friends who are there between songs/sets, doing some whip-its, close enough.

I kind of had a revelation about couch tour this summer.

Went to my cousins' new house for Gorge N1 and watched in his basement on his new big screen with surround sound speakers.

Spent night 2 at my house with the wife and some SPAC leftovers.

Basically I learned that couch tour can be pretty freakin awesome if you do it right.

Wife and I are planning on doing a couch tour "festival" weekend sometime next year after we buy a house. We've got all kinds of ideas. Can have everyone camp out in the back yard. Bracelets to get in. Glow sticks. Make up T-shirts for the event. Tailgate before the show.

"That's right folks, it'll be just like going to a real show! Complete with awkward set breaks!"

Everyone in attendance still have to do copious amounts of drugs to get through one of these noodling snoozefests?

I'd rather be gone by 5pm after the show than asleep on my couch at 9pm towards the end of the first set.
Oh c'mon, summer tour wasn't that bad... lol

Yep, and the haters are still around too!  Sorry you don't get it or haven't seen real phish.

I've heard of some pretty elaborate stream parties, but this would be awesome.

It's a joke reserved for those that have seen real phish.

Which shows? I'll tell you how much cred you have.
Two shows in southeastern US in mid 90s...

I guess I'll be schooled here on how this band is awesome, but has large swatches of their career where they performed/produced garbage that "doesn't count"? ....A sure sign of a quality band.

What about the sound that no other 4 piece band has ever been able to create that has been together (with a couple hiatuses) as one unit for 30 years?  The very nature of improvisation is that there will be some duds, but to say large swatches of their career they performed/produced garbage is not remotely true if you like the music.  You don't, and that's okay.  I like Pearl Jam, and they rock, but the thought of seeing them as many times as I've seen Phish would make we want to guage my eyes and Eddie Vedder's eyes out.  And their chops just aren't on par with the talent of Phish.  To each their own.

Icon must have had the Smacky X instead of the speedy X.

I've found that Phish is one of those bands people just love to hate on.  I have so many friends that rip into me for being such a Phishead....I've given up even trying to explain or attempt to get people to understand what I love about them and their music.  Music is so subjective, to each their own is right man.

I've been so bummed they haven't done Randall's Island again.  That setup was just fantastic for being a stones throw from the city.

My guess is he probably went to Phish show out of his element, probably for a girl, and some heads ended up getting her dosed out and noodles with her all show.
Naw... Went with big group of folks both times. Ive been to a bunch of shows of that type of band (Widespread, DMB, moe. MMW, Galactic), and enjoyed a ton of the shows... Phish just never really did it for me.

I know it's subjective as hell and I'm half trolling here, but the fan base just always came off as caricatures of the jam band scene... if that makes any sense. The shows themselves are visually spectacular, and there's not denying the immense talent of the band.... but the songs, live, dragged a bit for me and felt aimless at times.

I love a good prolonged jam as much as the next guy (Particle's "Triple Threat" is a personal favorite) but Phish, live, just wasn't my bag.

Totally agree, but it's stuff like this that makes it easy for people to hate on:

anyone else had their credit card charge for the ticket request?  I just had mine go thru.  Both nights in ATL.

Can anyone give me the skinny on the ##### (Colorado) shows?  I'm trying to understand how the GA stands works....seems like a ton of space but feel it's going to be a complete ##### show getting a decent spot? Do you need to get in when the doors open?

GA stands are no problem to find decent spots.  The field is a disaster.  You have to be there WAY early to get up front on the field.

Thanks man, I knew the field was going to be a disaster and didn't want to deal with it.  All I care about is hearing them at this point, hope the sound is good there.

Heard the first set Friday and both last night. As sloppy as I have ever heard Phish.
They are definitely slugging along right now, hoping the Colorado air invigorates them.  Getting on a plane in less then 24 hours, so phumped!

Doing couch tour for all three nights at ****'s. I thought the playing and vibe were very good last night. Looking forward to two more.

Just got back from #####.  I'm bummed I'm not there tonight but my god those two shows were on fire!  The boys showed up strong for these.

Yup yup!

I never seem to have luck with NYE onsale but the wife really wants to go to her first NYE before baby skoo comes next year.
I missed on all four shows in presale.  My wifes friend had an opportunity to buy floor seats to NYE for $275 each and I jumped on it - don't know exact floor section yet cause I have to pick them at will call but there is a chance they are in the front of the stage.  I am going for night 2 at noon today.....there is no chance for NYE tickets on TM.....pure scam....they are already in the hands of the scalpers.

Sooo....what do you guys think of the new album?  I personally like it way better then Fuego.

way better than that, this one is produced much better.

This is the best album IMO since Round Room but they are both a step below Farmhouse and way way below Story of the Ghost

They are just not a studio band

Totally not a studio band....and to think Trey was talked out of adding Mercury to the album by Ezrin.  That song is fantastic very glad I got to see it in Colorado in September.  I hope they jam the F out of Waking Up Dead...I think that song has tons of potential.  Can't wait to hear Petrichor live.
