Ok. We need direction and order here.

OFFICIAL RULES PROPOSAL: 16 TEAMS, 1962-1967

No clones, dice rolls or other bad ideas. Nice simple small-pool draft from a good era.

Open to slight changes on the era, but I think with only 16 teams, 6 years is a good span. 1968 is out for obvious reasons. 1961 could be added, but it brings in the flukish Norm Cash season.

There is also a certain left-handed Jewish pitcher that will be a bit of an outlier, but there's not much of a way around that.

I also volunteer to commish. Eephus, Doug B or many other people would probably do a better job than me, and if they want to take over that would be great. But if my marginal leadership skills are what it takes to get this draft rolling, so be it.

Let's get the rules approved and added to the first post. Also, as Eephus mentioned, a brief description of what WIS is. Put those two things in and I don't think getting to 16 will be all that tough.

Spartans, that would work out pretty well, and I like the years for the reasons you mentioned. 1961 has the Cash/Maris outliers and 1968 isn't usable really.

If such a league were to be started, I might just very well be in it.

62-67 works out to 120 team*seasons, slightly less than the 128 team*seasons (plus Jimmy Wynn) we used for the Disco Era sim.

It should be a pretty good pool to work with, especially if we only have 16 teams.

I did a grid iron dynasty for about 5 seasons but would love to get in on this...

Yes, this is done at WhatifSports.We will have a 25-round draft which will require daily participation and should last about two weeks.After that, we'll play a 162-game season. WIS simulates three games per day, and you can set your lineups, rotation, bullpen, etc. You can also meet other players online to simulate the games live and make in-game coaching decisions, but that's optional. We usually get about half who like to SimLive and half who don't, and split the divisions up accordingly.
