Watching this 2nd half of a wildly entertaining game I've seen only 1 play from Gurley that any other average competent starting* NFL RB wouldn't make -- the run after the catch on that 3rd down play. I don't think the guy is bad, I just don't think he's particularly good. 

*And there are lots of starters who don't fit this bill. I'm looking at you Abdullah.

There are so many awful coaches like him. Nfl needs to wash those dinosaurs out and get people who understand not to punt on the opponents 40 on 4th and 2 and who can get the ball down the field. Would really help the overall product.

4-3 to 3-4.  People keep talking like it's easy, but it isn't.  Also, undersized ILBs.  And having Janoris back would help some as well.

Definitely agree, but despite the hindsight of winning by 2 making it look decent, McVay kicking from inside the 1 is as bad as anything Fisher does for game management.

Brady took it when offered, but it was clearly offered. That game was simple math for Atlanta in the 4th -- not enough minutes for NE to have enough possessions to score enough points if you keep the ball on the ground. 

I'm all for creativity and more aggressive play, but some of those guys can overthink things and get too cute for their own good.

It all depends on the expected value of the play. The FG attempt was likely worth 2.998 or something like that. Someone earlier lectured me about how a RB from the one who scores 40% of the time is HOF-caliber. Accept the likelihood of success at that rate and going for it was worth 2.8.
