*** OFFICIAL *** rap super group draft (3 Viewers)

In no order, the rest of my list was (maybe 1 or 2 of these got picked and I didnt update):

MC

------------

aceyalone

sadat x

buckshot

slug

lyrics born

hell razah

akrobatik

mr lif

jay electronica

j-live

asheru

skyzoo

Producers:

-------------

dan the automator (if I had Prince Paul I wouldve def picked Automator)

dangermouse

black milk

jazzy jeff

ant

scott la rock

beatnuts

MF Doom

rjd2

blue sky black death

beatminerz

organized noize

neptunes

And agreed on why the Beasties didnt get picked. If I couldve pick the group as producers, I mightve gone that route.

An interesting flex that I think should have/could have been drafted is Damien Marley. Also agree on Tech N9ne, he should have been drafted, even if he does put on the fruitiest live show I've ever seen.

Dan The Automator was near the top of my remaining list.

and 7L is ok but being often paired up with :X :X Esoteric :X :X doesn't help his cause.

This morning the Saved by the Bell where Zack, Slater, and Screech rap in a dream sequence was on. Any one of those dudes would have made a sweet flex.

Thought about Treach, Elzhi, Termanology, Skyzoo, Reks, Dice Raw plus others I can't remember right now.
I know Treach....the rest of the guys.....are you just making up names now, buddy?
Dice Raw guests on a lot of Roots tracks, I always really like his verses. He put out a solo album a long time ago but I guess it bombed. I'm pleasantly surprised that he was mentioned.

his guests on Roots tracks were few and far between after illadelph halflife, no? Pretty sure their was conflict between him and the group and he wasnt on another album until Rising down (12 years). I just realized I dont even have their last 3 albums  I havent really kept up with hip hop the last few year, but I know all those guys Exit

Now for the list you've all been waiting for. Top 5 Wu affiliates:

1) Holocaust. I've never heard a guy rap like this, ever. Crazy mix of hardcore street, horror core and sci fi. His imagery is ridiculous "spittin darts from the tip of a glacier used as my hideout/rock crusher german suplex while spines slide out". PCP ate his brain up and he is easily the top 5 weirdest/corniest rapper ever now. I read something funny RZA said about him during the transition from Holocaust to Warcloud.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss5hdsvI2x4#t=03m10s

4) Timbo King

5) Killah Priest

Depending on my mood, I could switch 4 and 5.

It bombed. I remember liking a few tracks off of it. Apparently not on Youtube right now. His verse on the Lesson Pt 1 was sick.

Off the top of my head he was definitely on Things Fall Apart (Adrenaline) and Game Theory (Here I Come), and he is on a couple of songs from the latest.ETA: wikipedia has his guest spots, he's been on every Roots album since Do You Want More??

Elzhi
by The Roots. he starts around the 2:34 mark. Kills this verse.

Big fan of J Live. Thought he would get picked.
:wall: forgot about him....loved his first 3 or 4 albums...so much talent from writing great rhymes to producing excellent tracks. I saw him live in NYC to a grand audience of 50-75 people

It was a bunch of guys who thought it was a race between his rhymes and the beat with no regard for flow or delivery. Killa Sin really stood out. Anytime I listen to that LP I pretty much just wait for his verse then skip to the next song. 2nd Killarmy LP, Dom Pachino stepped his game up so there were 2 MCs worth listening to, plus two cameos from Holocaust.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg3vh52bGJEt=02m10shttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qoi3yPJq_k#t=00m44shttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6Td-riVsa8#t=02m20s4) Timbo King5) Killah PriestDepending on my mood, I could switch 4 and 5.

Jealous!
He puts on a great live show. I saw him, beatnuts, immortal technique and a few other heads many years back. Real small show. But i like those small venues.

Obviously I think KP is #1 here, but I can see the argument for Killa Sin or Shyheim. Holocaust had a few great verses but his brain turned to mush too quickly and his lyrics followed. Street Life seemed solid but unspectacular - rarely did he leave me wanting to hear more. Could really care less about Timbo King or any other Wu affiliates.

My top 3 off your list.

Not a fan of his production on the first MOP LP. Smoothe the Hustler LP was great though.Oh, can't believe I forgot to mention this guy. Ski!!!

Check the credits on those first couple Jay-Z LPs. Very solid contributions. John Blaze track is one of my favorite posse cuts of all times and his beat was crazy. Did almost the entire debut Camp Lo LP.

Shamus - Big Willie Style

Honorable mention to RNS for being one of RZA's main influences/mentors for production. I think RZA borrowed his ASR 10 to make Enter the Wu-Tang.

This sounds like something RZA would go on to make, but it was RNS.

UMCs - Any Way the Wind Blows

Wordsworth:Love his lead off verse in this.Tommy Tee - Day by Day (feat. A.L., Talib Kweli, Punchline & Wordsworth)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbuknzCwdhcCouldn't find this on youtube.Soul Supreme - Regardless (feat. Wordsworth, Moe & Illin P)http://www.zshare.net/audio/94545119c4063483/
Didn't have Punch and Words have an album out if not a mixtape? The eMC album is one of my favorite of the last 10 years.
Yeah they definitely had an EP out. Wordsworth's debut LP sold like 200 copies.

I almost took Mic Geronimo and/or Royal Flush based off of their one good album.

Well, for Flush it was like 5 good songs...but I really enjoyed them.

Great albums...I was looking at Kurious Jorge for similar reasons. Constipated Monkey was

I have Mic Geronimo - The Natural and Royal Flush - Ghetto Millionaire on heavy rotation in the car. Listen to them each several times over the course of a month. I remember being shocked as hell when Mic G's single off his sophomore LP heavily featured Puff Daddy. My world was turned upside down. I guess I shouldn't have been that surprised since Irv Gotti did a lot of the production on the first LP.Speaking of that first LP, the guest appearance lineup he had is probably the greatest collection of unknowns at the time that would go on to find mainstream success in the future. It came out several years before most of them were releasing their first albums. The posse track with O.C. is probably my favorite. Always put that on rewind.Jay-ZDMXJa RuleLost BoyzMic Geronimo - Men Vs Many (feat O.C., Royal Flush & C-Lo)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwo3-21kQKg

FLEX-

Could go anywhere here.... going to go with a singer that is at home over soulfull melody's as well as hip-hop beats ..likes to do drugs, bang rappers and is dead.

.............no , not Mya...she is still alive.

AMY WINEHOUSE

only two albums , her debut Frank was great and Back to Black was PERFECT.

Her and Ghostface

F' Me Pumps..... One of my favorites.

ps-- not a huge fan of this flex being added mid-draft and the fact it could be anything...but love Amy Winehouse.
Yeah, I thought this was an MC/producer draft. I don't think Mary J, Badu or Winehouse really fit the criteria. If that's the case, give me Marvin Gaye for my flex.
agreed.
I also agreed and referenced that in my post....but with MJB and Badu gone I wanted to add the same element....debated between Winehouse and Alicia Keys (since Swizz was onboard). If it was just MC s or Producers at Flex I would have grabbed Styles P. Or maybe Mad Skillz aka Skillz for his year end wrap ups.
