I can't remember a game where the commentating was more painful... :wall:
Wow? That's fantastic for you. I'm happy you've been able to forget every Sunday Night Football broadcast ever done by Paul McGuire, Joe Theisman, and Mike Patrick (going easy on Patrick, it's goofs #1 and 2 that made that the worst broadcast in the history of television)

This freaking game is on NFLN? If it weren't for getting banned, I'd say some inhuman things about the NFLN right now. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

The football game on that Nissan "Iron Man" commercial is a USFL game -- Houston Gamblers v. Tampa Bay Bandits. I guess since the league is defunct they got a good deal on the footage.
Part of the $3 ?
$3.76 with interest. That infamous check now resides in the desk of Steve Erhardt, the Executive Director of the Liberty Bowl here in Memphis. RIP the Showboats.

TD TO!

I forgot to mention I'm playing him in a playoff game too. I know y'all want to know! (I already had Gore outplay SA in that matchup.)

Fantastic story - the rise and fall of the USFL.Personally I like the idea of pushing the NFL to not get complacent. The USFL and the XFL are now great collectors' items (I have an XFL football and a few jerseys). The idea of a summer football league has a solid appeal - shame they got greedy and moved to the fall WAY too early.

While that particular ESPN crew were pretty f'n awful... Bryant Gumbal has created an entirely new genre of suckiness. He sounds as though he isn't even at the game but rather reading a script written by a mentally challenged Englishman. :wall:

Vick rolled out to his left, deep, looking to pass to the left flat (Griffith).

Ware leaps just 5 yards in front of Vick, snares it, pushes Vick away and scores.

Good eyes. I flipped out the first time I saw that commercial, I licensed footage from the same company for a TV show (scene was characters watching sports in a bar), and that game was one of my considerations. I recognized those same clips from the Corbis website.

Watching the replay again, Vick is to blame here. He did not put any arc on the ball - he threw on a line towards Griffith, barely 7 or 8 feet off the ground. If Ware is supposed to be unblocked, you HAVE to throw it over him.
