I have one shot at a starting QB this week.. I have McNair and Manning on a bye. If I pick up Boller and drop McNair I am stuck using Boller. I need to know if he is going.. Any more concrete news???

Per TSN:

McNair (back) missed practice again Friday, according to the Baltimore Sun. He will be a game-time decision Sunday.

Fantasy Source spin: Hmm. Are the Ravens getting at least a bit concerned now? McNair really isn't starting material in fantasy leagues anyway, but check back for updates over the weekend. The multiple byes might have you in a QB bind.

(Rotoworld) FOXSports.com's John Czarnecki reports there is a "very good chance" Kyle Boller will play Sunday against the Rams.

Impact: Czarnecki writes that Boller will "probably start" in place of Steve McNair, who is dealing with a bad back. We'll know in a few hours who's starting at quarterback for Baltimore. If it's Boller, he's worth a fantasy start. Boller's stronger arm could also help Mark Clayton, Derrick Mason, and Todd Heap.

It might matter to him. Say he has Engram, Rice, and Hillard on his roster. With Harrison on bye, he might wanna adjust his starters with a QB change.

I like mcnair since i have mason (even though he doesnt have tds he has lots of catchs + yards)

But brees has sucked.. and they are playing seattle who should be able to stop a not as great reggie bush....

I would downgrade Mason and upgrade Heap if Boller starts.

Plz keep WDIS out of the thread. IMO, roll with Boller. He has taken all all the first team snaps this week and they are playing the Rams. If this was a division game, I could see McNair 'toughing it out'.

Mort never said McNair would be inactive, he just said he was not expected to start.

I would feel confident that Boller is starting based on the reports we've gotten this morning, but if I had any other sure starter at QB (that means someone other than Vinny) I would probably start them over Boller, just because of how murky this whole thing has become. My gut still says they are leaving McNair active because he's healthy enough to play in an emergency, they would just rather not play him.

Correct. Active means he is dressing and able to play. If a player is active, then the coach can decide to start or bench him.
