I like Peyton but he never gives you anything real and he's gotten worse this year with his bs.
I don't understand this post.Humility and being humble and having the utmost respect for the game is not real?

What do you want him to do? Pump his chest like these new kids do after making a first down?

What do you want?
I saw an interview earlier today with him about breaking one of Favre's records and he had the audacity to say when he came into the league he never thought about breaking any QB records.BS. I don't see this as humility, I like the truth.

I had no rooting interest in this game. Was just hoping for a good, exciting game--and frankly--I feel like this was one of the dullest Superbowls that I can remember. The commercials were pretty weak with the exception of one or two. The game was a sleeper. The halftime show was meh at best. Honestly---I think the best part of this Super Bowl when Lady Gaga performed the national anthem.
If you like defense it was a great game.
I like defensive games--but I like seeing good defenses go up against energetic and inspired offenses. Carolina's offense--and Cam specifically looked disinterested and uninspired. Peyton looked like he was interested--but was limited by his physical capabilities. In my opinion---it really ended up being a dull Super bowl
When you on your ### most of the night....you tend to look disinterested, beat up..and not wanting to dive into a pile to recover your own fumble.#Owned.
Cam seems to be one of those guys who thrives when all is going his way. He's not a tough guy, mentally. When he was crying about not getting the late hit call, he had to grab his helmet and count to ten. I think he was very close to totally spazzing.
Are you going to indict Cam based on one game?
no. I've always thought that about him. This year seemed different, but other than the Seattle comeback and a meaningless loss to Atlanta, this season was a cakewalk for them. No adversity. Today was the first, and his body language was terrible. I don't think his book is written yet, but I need to see him lead the team when he's getting hit and things aren't going well.
I'm sure Cam is concerned about getting your endorsement, maybe he'll play harder next year thinking about it.
He's going to have to. He won't get the same candyass schedule that the NFC South had this past year. He's also lucky he plays for a team with a top 2 D.

Lol..I don't disagree--and I might be mis-remembering--but wasn't the game a one possession game at that moment? I think Carolina was down only six at the time--so for a guy to not even dive for the ball in a one possession game in the 4th quarter of the Super bowl doesn't just make him look disinterested--it makes him disinterested. I don't care if you were on your butt every play up to that point in time--your team still had a chance to march down the field to win--and he just stood there. Just seemed like the Carolina offense was not interested in fighting back versus the Denver D at all---even with Talib self destructing in the first half.
Looked to me like he was trying to get a better position and he was in the scrum for the ball as it went backwards. I think people are a little over the top on that play.
I like Cam.....a lot. I think the kid is as gifted a QB as anyone in the league. But that clearly looked to me like he wanted no part of the ball on that play. He just backed away.

No matter. He was beaten up and defeated tonight. He is still a great player. But his rep took a big hit tonight with that play IMO. It will be perceived like he wanted no part of that.
I think its Cris Carter that talks about players making "business decisions" on the field. He measured cost of possible injury vs. benefit of jumping on the ball and chose poorly

Not the outcome I wanted but it is hard to hate the Broncos, Manning, and elway. Congrats on the championship and outstanding defense

And junior, you might be the biggest tool on this forum.

And I'm sure Peyton is bummed that you don't think he had anything to do with their win. LolAs for Cam, I'm not alone in thinking the way I do. He was a God all year and crumbled when they needed him. And lacked effort on the ball he fumbled.

Nobody is overreacting on the play - it was cowardly.

can the 'other' CB not named Josh Norman cover Emmanuel Sanders? that's the real question here..

it's a pretty simple formula for Denver - watch film of the Atlanta game. Falcons ran the ball hard with D. Freeman 22-73. Ryan threw for 302.most telling stat in that game - carolina defense

managed only 2 sacks of Ryan, but forced no turnovers in the game.

Atl defense stifled the Panthers' running game and held Cam to just 142 passing yards. and ATl's defense isn't even that good!

key tie-in Atl to Denver? Kyle Shanahan, Gary Kubiak's protege. I'm sure they've been exchanging information ever since the Broncos' victory against the Pats two weeks ago..

Kubiak and Wade Phillips >>> Rivera and Shula.period.

Carolina has not been tested this entire postseason, they've dealt opponents one blowout after another..but, what will happen to Carolina if Denver gets up on them early, say 10-0, 14-3 early on? it makes Cam one-dimensional,and allows Denver to unleash Von Miller.

and conversely,if Carolina gets out to a huge lead - do they do their patented' easing off the throttle', thing like they did vs Giants and Seattle? if so,do they really want to allow Manning the chance to come roaring back like he's done countless times in his NFL career??

I sense a bit of over-cockiness ( if there is such a word) with Cam Newton in this game..he's been way over-confident in media day chats. Manning seems at ease.Denver rarely has been talked about ,if at all, during this week.

it has been ALL Cam,All the time..

Sanders will probably catch a TON of balls in this game, ala Julio Jones V. Carolina.

Vegas prop bets tell an interesting story: CJ Anderson's o/u rush yards is 62.5, carries 13.5 ( 4.6 per tote), while Hillman was a scant 11/35..that tells me CJ Anderson is going to have a HUGE game here..Jonathan Stewart was only slightly better at 17.5/67.5 and Cam was at 242 pass yards o.u..

also of interest, Manning pass yards prop bet o/u is 235.5.he hasn't thrown for over 220 in his past 4 games!!

Anderson gets over 20 carries, Manning throws for over 300, Sanders catches 13+ balls, and Denver wins this thing easily.

can't see the Superbowl newbie Panthers winning this game.Michael Irvin was talking about his first SB, he couldn't catch his breath the entire first quarter,he so was nervous and emotionally charged up..

does that happen to the Panthers? if Denver starts out fast and furious, Carolina has no chance in this game.

Rivera is over-matched here.

also, for the superstitious in here, teams wearing white have won 10 of the past 11 Superbowls.

Boroncos are wearing white
Cam one dimensional? Carolina has not been tested at all this post season? Rivera over-matched by Kubiak? Come on, man. :fishy:
not picking a fight bro, respect your opinion, care to rescind your comments??

lol

Cam was a shell of himself tonight. he sucked tonight plain and simple, man..

denver's defense put up a best-ever display..who was better? 2000 Ravens? ok.fair enough.1996 Giants, '85 Bears.Legion of Boom? ok.I agree who else you got?? put this Denver D up against ANY of them.they measure up.especially when you consider just HOW BAD Peyton Manning was..

Face it, this was one of the greatest defensive displays of all time, particularly Von Miller's..

swimming fish whatvever that means, I was right.100%. Cam sucks under pressure.folds like a cheap suit. has played the easiest schedule in the past 5 years in the NFL..that's right, this year's Panthers' schedule was the easiest since 2010 for any team..

boom.. what about Wade Phillips?

Shula and Rivera? take that to the playground, this is bigboy football..

anyone have doubts about Kubiak NOW????

care to comment on Ron Rivera? where was he? did he even coach this game? who is he? dude's overrated.as is Cam Newton. can't don the superman stuff SB pregame warmups and complete like 5 passes all game.LOL..

/caroliangotpunked

/joke

rescind that MVP now..

and YES CAM was ONE_dimesional.like I told you he would be.

They won the division last year, not sure how you did the math on how their schedule next year will be any tougher. Still have to play the division winners from this past year, and they get designated cross divisional match-ups that are pre-determined. So...

And CBS follows up with Colbert, is he supposed to funny?? Geez glad there is the NFL network. Amazes me people would actually watch that doosh

Congrats to Denver and their fans.

I have no dog in this fight but to say this was a well officiated game is ridiculous. I thought the refs were horrible and significantly affected the outcome of the game. The league has had a problem all year. Another poor display tonight.

Those 2 games are huge though.

Fix was in. The garbage non-overturn changed everything.
:lmao: Are you talking about the non-overturn on the play Cotchery initially bobbled in the first quarter??? Yeah, CAR had no time to overcome that "bad" call.
Sure they had time to overcome it, but it was a pivotal play early. Led to the sack fumble TD on the next play, put Carolina down 10. Granted Carolina did nothing to win it themselves, but if that play is called correctly is Denver ahead in the closing minutes? I highly question that. Then Cam not going after his fumble was the icing on the cake.

Truthfully no one deserved winning the Super Bowl this year. There weren't any worthy teams. So when in doubt just give it to a retiring superstar.

I like Peyton, wouldn't normally mind seeing him go out a winner. But he did nothing to deserve it this year. At least they didn't fix it for Brady again, so there's that.

I saw one bad call. The non pass interference on Ginn. Otherwise, very well officiated.

Well said

Fix was in. The garbage non-overturn changed everything. Carolina played a poor game, probably didn't deserve to win, but Peyton did nothing to win it, either. Higher ups wanted to make sure Peyton goes out a winner.

All sports are fixed now, I truly believe it. At least it wasn't quite as obvious as last year's Super Bowl, But still, it's all gotten ridiculous. If not for fantasy sports I probably wouldn't even follow anything closely any more.
I thought that call was ok, he bobbled it completely and then the point of the ball hit the ground on the way down. Easy to call that a trap and then no conclusive evidence to overturn.

What two games? They had to play the Seahawks, Packers, and WTF won the NFC last year. Next year they play the Skins, Vikings, and Cardinals and the NFC West and AFC West. Might be harder but they had to play the same 1st place schedule in 2015. So that argument makes no sense.

examples?

the non-overturn on the replay was a good call IMO.

could have/should have called PI on the Ginn play, but they didn't call PI all night.

other than that, I'm not sure what else there could be to complain about

What a strange year as a Broncos fan. None of those big easy wins from Peyton's first 2 and about 3/4 seasons. The fact that they were nearly on the verge of falling from the #1 seed to the #5 seed in week 17 just about perfectly summed this team up. Yet in the end they just outlasted the field.

Von Miller found another level in the AFC Championship game and kept it rolling tonight. Just incredible.

The key was that it was ruled incomplete, thus the evidence needed to overturn it had to be clear. It was unclear if the point of the ball hit the ground or not when he went down to the ground, thus it couldn't be over-ruled.

Miller produced 14 points essentially, was the difference in the game. He is a beast, just a fantastic performance tonight. Congrats GB!!!

Im agreeing with you.1st place schedule arguments are stupid and they already played it last year. It only affects 2 games on the schedule.

Cam staying classy in the post-game. "Wasn't nothin special they did. We dropped balls... we turned the ball over... gave up sacks... that's it."
