I'd rather see Carolina win now than worry about the old man's last rodeo. Nothing is guaranteed and the Panthers may not even make it back any time soon.

I hope they crush.

Cam is a different type of player, he is a 260lb QB who is a very athletic runner, and a clear goal line weapon. Cunningham, Steve Young, and Vick weren't goal line weapons like that by any means. The point is Cam's play this year is very difficult to defend seeing how the Panthers offense is the #1 scoring offense, the running game, and how he has become a true dual threat. Not to mention they just destroyed the Seahawks and Cardinals who had top notch defenses...

think whatever you want..
The Panthers squeaked out two wins against the Seahawks. In the first one at Seattle, Cam completed less than 56% of his passes and threw 2 INT's. In the 2nd one at home he only threw the ball 22 times. In both of those games Stewart had 2 rushing TD's.Yes, Cam is a tremendous dual threat but he threw up some clunkers this year where he was fortunate to get the win.
They squeaked out the first win, they didn't squeak out the second. They did what they shouldn't have done and tried to run the clock out and played prevent way too soon. They realized the mistake and played a full game against the Cardinals. Getting out to a 31-0 half time lead isn't squeaking out anything.
Yea agreed.. just too conservative in 2nd half, and obviously learned from their mistake

Here's a surprising stat in Cam's favor.

QB's in their first Super Bowl against a QB with Super Bowl experience:

Wilson win vs. Peyton

Eli win vs. Brady

Rodgers win vs. Roethlisberger

Brees win vs. Peyton

Brady win vs. Warner

Aikman win vs. Kelly

Have to go back to 1984 to find a first time SB QB who lost to one with SB experience:

Marion loss vs. Montana
That is interesting. I guess with 2 or 3 playoffs games under their belts at that point removes that lack of experience factor.

Should be a good game. Would be cool to see chicken parm get another ring but I'd like Newton to get one too. I think Newton, Stafford, Dalton, Wilson, Luck, Winston, Bridgewater and to a lesser extent Bortles and Carr will be that next decade and a half group.

Would like to see Newton and Wilson turn into a rivalry.

Enough about the game. I want to hear from these nine people who are actually excited about the halftime show!
Has to be a hot piece of ar$$ running around the show at some point or no? Have not even looked at the lineup.

Honestly, the Broncos were way more favored (9-1, 6th) to go to this Super Bowl than Carolina (60-1, 23rd, after the freaking Rams). This season has been ridiculously above expectations for all Panther fans and is a success regardless of the result. We all want to win the Super Bowl, who wouldn't, but 17-1 and in the Super Bowl, that is ridiculous. Cam being the clear MVP, after a car wreck and his worst season last year? Losing our best offensive weapon in pre-season?* Just a crazy wonderful season to be a fan and watch every game. One more to go and lord Newton willing, a miracle season.

*I know, I know, Olsen is great, but a rookie KB had the same yardage and more TDs than Olsen last year and was looking fantastic in pre-season. KB was looking like he was going to explode this year.
Even if the Broncos somehow pull out a miracle, Panthers fans have a lot of winning to look forward to.
Yes, and this is why all good Americans should be rooting for the old man to ride off into the sunset a winner. We will be seeing plenty of Carolina the next few years.
Yeah I remember when Dan Marino got the Dolphins to the SB we thought first of many. Not so much. Peyton got his now it's our turn.

The last time I remember feeling this confident about a team winning the super bowl, new England was 18-0.

The time before that, John Elway was playing against Doug Williams.

Just sayin, my confidence isn't so good.

Just like the "better" team does not always win the college bowl game, it happens with Super Bowls too. Some of it is that extra time for teams to cool off.

Still can't believe people actually believe Carolina is going to run away with this one. Denver has a great defense. If they're healthy, I can see them forcing a couple turnovers. Of course Peyton could also turn the ball over but he hasn't in his 2 playoff games this year.

Carolina reminds me a lot of the 2012 49ers and most people thought they'd roll over the Ravens.
Who said that here? I know I didn't expect the 49ers to roll over the Ravens. That game really has nothing to do with this one.

Count me in as another embarrassing SB outing for Peyton like he was against Seattle. He threw 9 TDs to 17 INTs during the regular season, albeit injured and without the HGH, but those numbers show he is more than done. His arm is shot. Carolina should force him to throw all game long, and once Peyton stops trusting his arm and starts throwing INTs trying to force the ball, or just simply can't get the ball there, it will be over in a hurry if Carolina is able to capitalize on it.

It would be something is a QB with that bad of a regular season wins it, but that would mean Denver overall was the better regular season team than Carolina. I think Carolina is better in all the three phases and at QB.

Carolina 45

Denver 24

I hope the Panthers aren't reading all the press clippings. Even when they were 9-0/10-0 the talking heads were still all "well, they haven't played anyone.. who have they played?" Then, all of the sudden, after jumping out on SEA and the beat down of ARI, those same talking heads (and most everyone else) is calling for a blowout of Denver.

I think Denver will step up in a big way. I just hope Carolina is ready and recaptures the intensity of the last couple of weeks... for just one more game.

I see quick passes from Manning from the start to get the ball out of his hands. Quick screens to Thomas and Sanders. Just don't see him doing a lot of 7 yard drops and standing in the pocket. And with all the talk of the Panthers jumping routes, I could see a pump fake and throw over the top. Carolina needs to be disciplined.

If Carolina is patient on defense, I think they can take control of the game by the late second half. With that said, Carolina has been opportunistic with quick scores off turnovers. If Peyton makes a couple of quick mistakes he could find himself down 17-0 and it will be a long haul to bring them back. Much like Carson Palmer, Manning is no Russell Wilson and will not be able to counter a swarming defense with his legs.

Come on Panthers! tune out all the hype and just keep pounding...

Denver exposed how Brady's quick release covers for a subpar OL by making him hold the ball longer, employing coverages that had no reason to worry about an inept running game. Carolina's OL and running game are both superior to New England's, so I would be shocked to see Cam under duress like Brady was.

I *can* see Manning struggling vs. Carolina's D as he did vs. New England. Carolina will stuff the run and dare him to beat tight man coverage as the Pats did, testing his arm strength. Replace Jamie Collins's up the middle blitzes with Luke Keuchly's and Manning will be running to avoid sacks again, killing drives.

I suspect the final score will range from a solid 10+pt win to a repeat of Seattle/Denver, with Carolina on top.

Well everybody is in town for the game. So far Cam's pants seem to be the big story. I understand they are Versace and quite expensive. The pants haven't been reached for a comment yet.

I heard they interviewed and supposedly got some nice sound bites. But apparently it was difficult to make out what was said... too loud.

Don't know if its been mentioned yet but black quarterbacks are undefeated against the Broncos in the Super Bowl and have never won against any other team.

fascinating.

black QBs are 0-3 against teams which will play near a coast in 2016.

The pants agent says the pants will be issuing a statement later today.

Madden picked the Panthers. Been fairly accurate over the years. Most noteworthy miss involved the Broncos. It picked them over Seattle.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/super-bowl-50-prop-bets-gatorade-coldplay-article-1.2515471

Prop bets:

heads: 51/49

tails: 49/51

Odds a coach challenges a play: 9/11

Odds a challenged play gets overturned: 3/1

Odds the NFL switches to iPads (versus Microsoft tablets) for the Super Bowl: 12/1

Odds on what color Gatorade will be poured on the winning coach:

• Yellow: 7/3

• Orange: 3/1

• Clear (including water): 4/1

• Red: 17/3

• Blue: 12/1

 how is heads the favorite?
If I can bet the counter (NFL does NOT switch to iPads) I'd wager the mortgage.

Is this possibility even a thing, or is Vegas just fishing for suckers who watched the tablets go out last weekend?

Please change the title of the thread. This is Super Bowl L. Just because the NFL can't figure out roman numerals doesn't mean the rest of us need to be lemmings.

Friday is 'Panther Pride Day' at work, where everyone is encouraged to wear Panther gear and pose for a picture.

Not sure how well my Von Miller jersey will be received - I'm guessing that at the very least they won't let me be in the picture.

Just avoid rubbing your cajones on folks and you'll be OK :)

John Elway on replacing John Fox: This is why we made the decision

Ouch.
Yup. Fox was complacent, happy to be good, not driven to be great. He totally sold out the 2014 team and tanked in the playoffs so he and Del Rio cold jump ship.

Elway said he wanted a team that, of they lost, at least go down 'kicking and screaming'... I've never seen a Bronco team kick and scream as much as this one.

It's sort of myopic if you had watched the Broncos to all the way back to the Orange Crush days. Just sayin'.

sorry. I only go back to 1986. From reading online discussions from some of the old timers though, this D is better than the 1977 team.

It's kind of true though. If you watched the broncos all year but never saw any of the final scores, would you believe they were the #1 seed? This team scrapped and clawed to get there. They aren't the most talented Broncos team ever and probably not even the most talented in the AFC this season but they're here.

I'm rooting for them and the old man. The odds are against it though. It's always more fun rooting for the underdog though.

Maybe not right now but they could have a handful of HOFers on their roster.

Peyton definitely but he's hardly playing at that level now. Von Miller has a shot. Who else?

It's cool man. My Uncle is a HUGE Bronco fan, and back in the day he would buy me an Orange Crush trying to convert me lol. I became a 49er fan back then due to all the Bronco and Ram fans in my family. Those old Bronco teams were old school football. But even Shanny's team fought hard. I recall an Elway helicopter TD thought fought harder than this current team.

Ware. And I wouldn't rule Thomas out.

Ware I could see but needs a few more years. Thomas is a dime a dozen especially at the rate he's tapering off. Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce still aren't in.

True, which is why I used the word "could" instead of will, or locks.

For ware, at least a few people thought he would get in two years ago. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/1539675-is-demarcus-ware-already-a-hall-of-famer
