The Bears didn't run the football well? That's not true at all. They just didn't commit to the run. If they had just run the ball three times instead of running twice for three or four yards and passing once incomplete, they'd have converted a few first downs, and kept the defense even remotely fresh.
Yeah I agree with this. I don't understand it though.
It is pretty easy. The Colts defense is all about making teams convert 3rd downs and make long drives and not giving up the big plays. The Bears didn't put together any long drives. See what the Colts did all day long as an example of long sustained drives. Rex Grossman's best games this year were when they broke a few long TDs and they didn't do that at all. Thomas Jones looked good and up until the last few minutes, I am pretty sure that they ran the ball more than passed, but they just didn't pick up enough first downs to score on any drives that weren't started with a turnover/great field position.By the way, congrats to the Colts. It was very, very apparent that they were the better team, by a wide margin.
If not for Hester, the short missed FG, the missed XP and several short FGs which weren't TDs, this game would have been a blow out.
