Can there be any motivation to watch Bradley/PacMan? Watch PacMan beat him again and try to retain his former glory enough to get PBF?
I just can't see it...no real scenario will give us PBF/PacMan...no one will buy PacMan having a shot.

Manny didn't train well for the past few fights. IMO, that's why he wasn't sharp.He always had speed and quickness coming up. The roids added size and power. His shoulders and arms were significantly bigger a few years ago. Maybe he's still on something, but I'd bet its something different.

I've wondered for awhile now if Roach's declining health has hurt Manny in his last few camps.
Manny's extracurricular activities have definitely interfered with his focus & training the past several years. I also think Marquez is a very tough stylistic matchup for him.
And, I think 147 is too big for Manny. His overwhelming speed was always one of his biggest advantages. He's still quick at 147 but the advantage over opponents is much smaller than when he was at 130/135. While I know he can't make 135 at this point in his career, 140 is certainly doable. I think he went up to 147 for the bigger money fights, but I never believed the Mayweather fight was going to get off the ground. Both he and Marquez could have gotten to 140 with no problem.

Doesn't that fight warrant a rematch? This is one of the greatest rivalries in boxing history. Sugar Ray and Raging Bull fought 6 times. I think a rematch would be great. Wasn't it an amazing fight?

Good fight...but for me...Marquez has won three times fairly clearly...why keep doing this?Gift PacMan with a judge's decision in number 5 and then what? ANOTHER DAMN IN-HOUSE MATCH with a rematch of Bradley/PacMan?PacMan loses again...we get Marquez/Bradley?All as long as Arum keeps both sides of the ring under his wing...I'm just sick of it.

Marquez would beat PacMan once again...unless it went to Arum's judges...so no need for it.PacMan should've won against Bradley but Arum needed a new horse in his stable with belts...I could see this but its not necessary.I'd love to see PBF beat PacMan every single round...just not sure PacMan would accept a 70/30 split.

Pacman was taking control of that fight last night...got careless and got caught with a tremendous short compact right hand ,which is the golden key to beating a southpaw.I would pay to see a 5th fight if it was as exciting as last nights fight. I would love to see pacman knock out Bradley.I d like to see PBF beat Bradley and then fight either pacman or Marquez.

PacMan would have to stay safe against Marquez and win with the judges.I don't know if Arum would let his new cash cow fight PBF. PBF would end him.But it may be the only way to get PBF and PacMan...but would Arum be OK with PBF ending both of his cash cows?

Tim Bradley is not a cash cow. What are you talking about? Also, Pac doesn't have to play it safe to beat Marquez. Pac got caught with a perfect shot, it happens. Pac was sloppy and left himself wide open. He can fight with controlled aggression and win. Even if he does lose again, so what? If it is a great fight, that is what people want. You still haven't made any suggestions as to who should fight at welterweight. 4 of the 10 best fighters in the world are fighting at or near the same division and you don't think any of them should fight. Where is the sense in that?

Maybe we can get some momentum going in this thread coming off the Pac fight. Over the next few weeks, I will post some of the reasons why 2012 (especially the second half of the year) was such a great year for boxing.
There have been some amazing rounds in 2012, but round 9 of Salido-Lopez 2 was boxing at it's most intense. JuanMa applying constant pressure, backing Salido into the ropes and digging to the body. Salido fighting from the ropes to throw counter after counter. Both guys fighting in a phone booth, letting their hands go, never resorting to clinching. One of the finest moments in the historic Mexico vs Puerto Rico boxing rivalry. Mexican veteran warrior, Olrando Salido will be back in action on HBO January 19th against one of boxing's brightest young fighters, the undefeated 24 year old Mikey Garcia.

Another reason 2012 has been an amazing year for boxing is that December 2012 will mark the return of boxing to broadcast television....on not just 1 major network, but two. Yes, on two consecutive Saturdays, boxing will be on both CBS and NBC. This Saturday, boxing returns to CBS live at 4:30 Eastern as a lead in to the Showtime Amir Khan fight. The card will feature two fights: top American Olympian Joseph Diaz and in the main event, young unbeaten brawler Leo Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is super fan friendly and is a pressure fighter that never stops coming forward and throwing power shots. A week later on December 22, NBC will carry it's first fight in 15 years as Tomasz Adamek and Steve Cunningham square off in the sequel to their 2008 FOTY scrap. Based on how good their first fight was, this should be action packed. While there are no big names on the cards, there is something better: great action fights.

Tonight on SHOWTIME....The fighter that many boxing fans see as the future of the heavyweight division Deontay Wilder (25-0, 25 KO’s) will be showing off his talent for the American fans tonight against Kelvin Price (13-0, 6 kO’s) on Showtime at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California. That Showtime card was a fun watch.... Wilder probably least of the three (although he did get that early KO).It'll be interesting if Khan can stick to the "smarter" style of fighting- he completely dismantled Molina by throwing combinations and then moving out of range of Molina. Mix his unorthodox angles, speed and power with some ring savvy and the guy could get back to being legit.'BustedKnuckles said:

You are thinking about Alfredo Angulo (not sure who the younger guy was, but I'd like to see him again). That was an awesome fight. Khan looked good, but let's wait and see until he fights someone that has punching power. The Wilder KO was devastating. Speaking of devastating KOs, did you see Donaire knock Jorge Arce silly with a left hook?

Didn't see the KO.And I wonder about Khan- I had thought Molina had decent power and Khan just figured out not to mix it up using his 90" reach advantage and speed advantage. Or does Molina not really have that much power?

Donaire killed Jorge Arce. It was the usual crap Donaire fight where Nonito is up against a much smaller guy. I am still waiting for Donaire to fight someone close to his own size. The Rigondeux fight was cancelled because the opponent tested positive for something. Molina is feather fisted. That was a real easy set up for Khan's return. That being said, I don't think Danny Garcia is a real heavy hitter. I think Khan wins easily in a rematch

2012 had it's fair share of great fights, but nothing compared to the war between Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios and "Mile High" Mike Alvarado. Think Castillo-Corrales, Gatti-Ward. Lucky for boxing fans, it seems like a rematch will be happening in 2013. As great as Manny-Marquez was, this was my FOTY.

Good fight, but he was up 2 rounds to me. I can't see Adamek winning that. It makes me long for the days of 15 rounders. Although, if it went 15, I think Adamek does break him down as Cunningham seemed to be fading. Nonetheless, great return of heavyweight boxing to national TV.

Ridiculous. What an amazing card too, top to bottom. It was a perfect way to start 2013 until the fix came in. Records don't even matter to me, we know who won the fight. Same with my boy Lucas Matthysse, I don't care what the judges said, he beat Judah and Devon Alexander and is the true top dog at 140.Usmanee just got totally robbed on FNF. Fight Night! Now that football is over and we are so early in NCAA and NBA, it is great timing for boxing to kick back into gear after holiday break. Tonight, ESPN and Showtime both have good fights. ESPN has Dannie Williams vs John Molina Jr which is a pretty good battle between two guys sitting just outside of the top 10 at Lightweight and looking for one last chance to make a run for a legit title fight. Showtime has Rico Ramos vs Ronie Rios. Rico Ramos was a top prospect at jr feather that has only one career loss to the 2x Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux. Rico Ramos now moves up in weight to challenge unbeaten prospect Ronnie Rios. Both guys are good and the winner will make a real statement about their place in the featherweight division.

Big night of fights. At 9:30, HBO has a triple header. All three fights are iblbtwreating. Main event is Orlando Salido and Mikey Garcia, probably the most anticipated fight of the first quarter of 2013. At 9, NBC Sports has Gabriel Campillo who might just be the best light heavyweight in the world.

Was staying with them to finish up school, moving from their place. If it was my place Id have the HBO and SHO! So what were the best fights to check out and where could I find them? I literally think I only saw a couple fights during that period on the off chance there was a good fight on a weekend I was home.

Lands more, higher percentage, controls the ring, dictates the fight... but it's still a blowout in favor of the other guy.The first fight on HBO after Dark. Geez, what a bad decision. Guy landed at a much higher rate and landed 100 more punches. Power stats were worse.One judge had it 117-11 for guy who should have won.Another 116-112Third had it 114-114.Draw.Insane.
eta: first time I've seen that Kazakh figher GGG... can't remember seeing somebody control the other guy's movement so well and effortlessly (seeming). To me, that part of his game was just as impressive as his punches (which were also impressive). I'll look forward to seeing him fight again.

Ive seen Broner favored for tonight's fight as much as -5000, dont think this one is going to last very long. Assuming he does dominate, Im ready for him to either move up to the loaded Jr Welter division or down to fight Gamboa. There's nothing worth his time at Lightweight right now.
