Ive seen Broner favored for tonight's fight as much as -5000, dont think this one is going to last very long. Assuming he does dominate, Im ready for him to either move up to the loaded Jr Welter division or down to fight Gamboa. There's nothing worth his time at Lightweight right now.

so far im lovin this match up...rees is giving Broner a go. I love the way Rees steps into his punches. I doubt he can sustain this but its fun to watch.

I agree, but it's not like he went out there and just coasted. Would've been easy for him to just sleepwalk to a 12-round UD....he's one of my favorites to watch just because he's not that kind of fighter.

I agree, he definitely is the real deal. That's why I don't want to see him fight cream puffs. We all know he is good, but how good is he? How will he react when he fights someone that is in the same ballpark as he is as far as talent is concerned. He has tremendous speed and power. I do think he is trying to hard to have the persona of Mayweather. At least Floyd acknowledges his opponents after the fight. Broner acted like he didn't even know the guy's name who he was fighting.

This is essentially what I said before the fight. Ive never seen Burns or Vazquez yet, but by all accounts they arent near as good as Broner. Like I said, the time is now to fight Gamboa, or if not move up to the loaded 140 where he can fight the best in his weight range.

Problem is at 168 there's nowhere to go. Andre Ward has already beaten him and it was a total one sided affair. I guess Bika could rematch Bute. 168 is kind of a bore. Ward is a mile better than Froch and Froch is 5 miles from anyone else.

It does seem like Broner is doing Mayweather's thing, but why not? The guy is the most successful boxer in over a decade, easily. At the same time, he hasn't proven near as much to have earned the swagger. I respect PBF, but dislike him, and my biggest problem with him is it seems like he fights his opponents at the right time for him, and has ducked others. If Floyd decides to fight Sergio Martinez, I will forever rest my hate on him. As for Broner, he's only 23 and has a lot of time to not only mature as a fighter, but as an entertainer.

Broner is certainly inspired by Floyd, but he puts his own spin on it. Besides, half the rappers in the world are on the same gimmick. Boxing needs characters, it needs heels and like Floyd, Broner knows this.

Some combo of Manny, Bradley, Canelo, Broner, Matthysse, Trout. No way he takes that many tough fights. He will likely mix in some "cupcakes" like Andre Berto, Devon Alexander, Danny Garcia, or Marcis Maidana.

Im not really interested in seeing him fight Bradley as stylistically I think its a bad matchup and Floyd will pick him apart, but Id love to see the rest. I actually figured it was going to be Bradley or Alexander for this fight that'll be against Guerrero. Berto hasnt progressed like it looked like he would so I dont think thats wortwhile at this time, I dont know enough about Garcia, but I think Maidana is at least interesting since he has by far the most power in the division.

Knowing Floyd, he's probably getting a massive payday anyway no matter who he fights. Aside from Manny, I'm not really sure it matters a ton from a financial standpoint who Floyd fights....Floyd IS the draw....boxing-heads will watch regardless because it's PBF, and the average sports fan isn't really going to be swayed by whether he's fighting Robert Guerrero or Canelo Alvarez. Canelo (for example) might draw the Mexican viewership, but I'm not really sure how that works.That's just my impression, at least. I'd love to see some numbers.

Your point that Floyd is the draw is true no doubt, and like I said Im not familiar with Guerrero so I hate to go out on a limb, but I get the impression he has next to no shot to beat PBF, and the vegas odds will show as much as the fight nears. PBF will sell a ton of PPV's regardless, but a best (or close to it) matchup possible will sell more. Like I said earlier, I think even a fight vs Bradley or Alexander would sell considerably more.I honestly wont purchase this PPV, maybe Ill go somewhere to pay a cover that is showing it, but otherwise Ill try and find a stream that night or watch the next week. That said, Id buy Mayweather-Canelo in a second, and I think Canelo still needs another big win or 2 to deserve a shot at PBF. Id argue the opposite of you - a matchup like this (Guerrero) wont have boxing fans buying but instead watching for free on the internet or on the HBO replay a week later.

Guerrero vs Berto is on HBO Go and likely YouTube. It's well worth watching and was a FOTY nominee. I don't think Guererro has much of a shot, but he is tough, has no real weaknesses and it tough as nails. On the other hand, he has no real major strengths either.

While neither fight was anything to talk about, both were fairly entertaining.I had that first fight 7-3 Love, but 3-2 Findley after 5. A lot of close rounds there, I could even see 6-4, but Love won the fight.2nd fight surprised me, Bundrage is usually pretty hungry and aggressive but I didnt see it. I had it 8-4 Smith, plus the deduction (which didnt make sense), and 116-111 which 2 of the judges had makes sense. Agreed, the interviews post-fight were awkward. Dude is emotional, why u gotta ask him about considering killing himself?!Either way, excited for PBF on SHO. Certainly looks like theyll give him as much attention as possible.

Just watched the replay, he looked great throwing a shutout despite in all likelihood breaking his left hand in the 4th or 5th round. He didnt even throw 1 left for what looked like 3 straight rounds and still dominated the rounds. His opponent only landed 2 jabs, Russell landed twice as many jabs as Gusev threw, and landed more total punches than Gusev threw. Russell was a huge -4500 favorite I saw yesterday, so Im mostly just impressed he still won half the fight one-handed.Its been obvious that he's ready for the step up in competition. Considering someone with his amateur background and pedigree, I dont see why he's been on such a slow track since turning pro but I guess you cant really have someone who is 14-0 be in a title fight. If he did in fact break his hand, the timing sucks for him as he said before and after the fight he's seeking a title fight at featherweight in his next couple fights, but more importantly this doesnt become a long term problem for him as he's already broken both hands before.As for that main event, if I didnt have it on DVR I wouldnt turned it off halfway thru but watched it just to see the scorecards. All were about what I had it as and Abril won it fairly clearly I thought. He said he wants to fight Broner, please god no.

Victor Cayo on FNF on ESPN in a little bit vs Emmanuel Taylor tonight. Havent seen Cayo in a few years, but I was impressed when I saw him before (I believe then undefeated). His only losses are to Maidana, Peterson, and Campbell so not bad at all.Totally psyched for the Hopkins-Cloud fight, even moreso that it isnt a PPV. B-Hop is my favorite fighter, so no surprise, but I think stylistically its a real intriguing matchup.

Loving this fight so far...Zaveck's possibly won at least a couple rounds, and I expect this to get even more interesting in the championship rounds.Lederman just announced a shutout for Thurman right now (after round 7). I think Zaveck's won a round or 2.
