I'm def. on Canelo if I can find anything close to this. Khan's name-value is keeping the price in check, but Canelo might come into the ring 20 lbs. heavier.Early odds for Canelo/Khan are:
Canelo -325
Khan +250

Very true. Also applicable to May-Pac last year, IMO.Khan is a name.I'm def. on Canelo if I can find anything close to this. Khan's name-value is keeping the price in check, but Canelo might come into the ring 20 lbs. heavier.Early odds for Canelo/Khan are:

Plus, it seems as a general rule that when a fighter is a significant favorite (2-1 or greater), the odds end up being closer than logic dictates they should be. Books expect a high amount of bettors to chase the payoff by betting on the underdog and adjust accordingly.
Both factors appear to be in play here.
. Someone told me that they have a rehydration limit of 8 lbs. I haven't seen confirmation of this however.I'm def. on Canelo if I can find anything close to this. Khan's name-value is keeping the price in check, but Canelo might come into the ring 20 lbs. heavier.Early odds for Canelo/Khan are:

he barely beat AlgieriKhan's only chance is flurry & run. Don't think this will be a entertaining fight. IMO
I'm in for a fight worth anyone. Crawford is the best.did i hear correctly that they want crawford to fight ruslan next? Im intrigued.
even boxing fans have to love this card...conor alone is worth the priceAnyone passing on the UFC card to watch the HBO fights instead? Since Holly Holm is on the UFC card, I will have to catch a replay of the HBO fights. That said, Ortiz is approaching must-watch territory and the undercard fight has possibilities.
The HBO card was ok. The Showtime card was a lot of fun.so..... that ufc card was epic! was this boxing card worth watching?
wait i didnt even know there was a showtime card. Who fought? The HBO card was ok. The Showtime card was a lot of fun.
It was all up and comers, like a Sho Extreme card, but some good action.wait i didnt even know there was a showtime card. Who fought?
Guy who works out at my gym fought. Antoine Douglas. He lost (his first), but showed TREMENDOUS amount of heart in the loss. It's good to see the type of chin he has (very good). He got hurt early, and kept in and fighting for ten rounds. Finally the ref had to stop it -- he was taking a beating, but refused to go down and actually was still punching back even in the tenth. He's young - 23, so still has a little more to learn, but he's definitely showed that he in in the right place. It was all up and comers, like a Sho Extreme card, but some good action.

Ortiz reminds me of Trevor BerbickAs far as the HBO card, the Ali-Vargas fight was fun and competitive. Ortiz-Thompson went as expected, though it says a lot that King Kong was able to KO the durable Thompson.
i meant looks and build ...and his style of fighting to a degree ...no trevor didnt hit all that hardInteresting. I don't remember Berbick being so heavy-handed.
The UFC has a lot of advantages, but I just can't buy into guys kicking each other in the legs. Or fights fairly routinely ending within a minute.Anyone passing on the UFC card to watch the HBO fights instead? Since Holly Holm is on the UFC card, I will have to catch a replay of the HBO fights. Agreed, I just can't really get into UFC. Boxing has been struggling to put together good fights. There are plenty of good fighters, but the PBC has been a disaster. The next few months have some good fights coming up (although I am not really excited for the 2 fights you mentioned)The UFC has a lot of advantages, but I just can't buy into guys kicking each other in the legs. Sorta getting excited about Ward/Barrera. As frustrating as Ward's career has been, he's still a helluva fighter. Barrera seems like he'll be a good barometer for the Kovalev fight in Nov.
Looking forward to Pac/Bradley solely because I have money on it.
Going to be a fun spring! Maybe im in the minority but im really looking forward to Canelo Khan(but im a khan fan so....) Would like to see Ruslan get a few wins under his belt and good back in the mix.Agreed, I just can't really get into UFC. Boxing has been struggling to put together good fights. I looked at the picture from the weigh-in and Lemieux looked thin and ripped. His face looked drained. I am not sure this is David's fault. His team and himself might have just overestimated what his body was capable of doing.BTW smh at David Lemeuix. I thought he could actually be something. He was just talking about what he was about to do at 160.

Just peeped it. He does look ripped. But still, this type of stuff shouldnt be happening.I looked at the picture from the weigh-in and Lemieux looked thin and ripped. His face looked drained. It's the business of boxing that has hurt them (PPV and premium channels) as well as just the fact that Floyd was the best fighter of the generation and he is a defensive fighter which doesn't make the most entertaining fights. The PBC was a good idea- get fights on NBC, ESPN, etc. However, they aren't putting good fights on those cards so it's not doing anything to actually promote the sport. There are some great exciting fighters out there now though: GGG, Canelo, Terrence Crawford, Kovalev, Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez and Naoyo Inoue who almost nobody outside of Asia knows, but he is a "Little Monster". A Gonazalez-Inoue 2016 fight would be the FOTY.Problem with boxing is the PPV events are duds 9 times out of 10...and the under cards are usually snore fests...so the fans are turned off
The fights on HBO and showtime are much better than the big fights on PPV but unless you have those channels you are missing out...if those fights were PPV then boxing fans ,and the casual fan ,would be treated to exciting events
The UFC usually has very good fight cards from top to bottom...its usually pretty violent and bloody which thats what fans are tuning in for ...to see a blood sport
Gone are the days of Hagler vs Hearns ect;.....i miss those days and hope they return with up and coming talent (which i see in the posts above they are)
There's no question that the UFC is made infinitely better by having everyone in the same organization that makes the fights that fans want to see, whereas boxing is a number of countless separate entities that are all protecting their assets. De La Hoya #### all over Mayweather for being boring and ducking fights, and yet he's holding out Canelo from fighting GGG. And we'll eventually get one fight, but what if we were starting on a trilogy? That's the kind of thing that attracts casual sports fans. Mayweather's success is a bit of a counter-example, but I think what makes a fighter huge is taking big fights, not protecting an undefeated record.Problem with boxing is the PPV events are duds 9 times out of 10...and the under cards are usually snore fests...so the fans are turned off

didnt Duran always gain weight between fights and then lose it?
Maidana is known as a partier and typically falls into poor shape between fights. I can't see how much longer he can keep it up.
whats the name of the podcast?Bill Simmons new podcast had Jim Lampley on last week and it was excellent. A must listen for fight fans. Topics include: Mt. Rushmore of great fights, history of the heavyweight division, Kovalev literally killed a recent opponent, MMA, Howard Cossell and much more. It's fantastic.
I think it's just the Bill Simmons Podcast.whats the name of the podcast?

Broner tweeted a screenshot of his IMs with Dan Rafael of ESPN. Broner doesn't seem worried.
