Absolutely, but he has that kind of power in his arsenal, with Kirkland being an obvious example.

Canelo doesn't fit the old stereotype of the Mexican fighter who just wades in and takes hits in order to get off. But it's hard to see Khan posing any danger whatsoever in terms of getting a stoppage against Alvarez. I would think that Canelo's going to be more than happy to press Khan everywhere and try to turn this into a brawl.
Agreed about Canelo.   Different fighter than most Mexican fighters.   He should have got down & dirty w/ Mayweather.  He didn't.    Just read an interesting article about how Mexican fans appreciate a fighter than can take it more than a guy than can dish it out.   Over the years I have rarely been disappointed with Mexican fighters.   Have noticed that they have a lot better chin than Porta Rico's.  Sorry about the spelling.  Just an observation from over the years.

Yes I'm drinking.

50% of the time when people say chin, they mean heart. Like this past weekend people were talking about how Ortiz's weak chin has always hurt him. Weak chin my ###, when he gets hurt, he quits. It's heart. Will. Warrior mentality. Whatever you want to call it, it isn't chin.

25% of the time, it's really about poor defense and defensive awareness. These are guys getting hit with punches they didn't see coming.

No doubt on any of that science. However, it doesn't account for a large % of knockdown that come not on the hardest punches, but punches guys never saw. Even when hit cleanly, guys can use those neck muscles and slight head movement to reduce the blow. Also, we have seen guys like Bradley that are really hurt but they choose to keep fighting. We also have seen guys like Ortiz who are capable of fighting on, but quit. People say Bradley has a great beard and Ortiz doesn't when the reality is we have actually seen Bradley much more hurt from punches than Ortiz ever has. Ortiz also gets hit with many more nasty punches because he's sloppy and often caught off guard.

Tabloids aren't necessarily wrong.

McGregor got $1mm for his last fight. Getting to chase Mayweather around for 12 rounds and losing a decision would get him, reportedly, between $7-10mm. If there were ever a way to get paid, and stick it to Dana...this would work.

And for Mayweather, you can't really get a much higher money-to-risk ratio.

Connor chasing Floyd around for 12 rounds is insanely optimistic for Connor. Best case scenario for Connor is he chases Floyd and Floyd evades everything, lands some sharp counters. Then Connor spends 7 rounds with that dejected look on his face just waiting for the fight to end. That is best case scenario.

What weight would it be at though?  Would they do it with conor having a weight advantage?   Either way, floyd would win straight boxing.  Now, let them do one round of mma tho!

Weights wouldn't matter. Boxing match and Floyd wins, MMA and Connor wins.

It's just more smoke and mirrors from Conor to force Dana's hand.
I'd think that but it makes a ton of sense on both sides. Hell, McGregor could probably pursue boxing completely after he loses to Mayweather and wind up with far more money than if he continued with dopey UFC.

I guess it does make sense...Conor has already proven he'll fight someone he can't possibly beat, just for the money.

It's so absolutely ridiculous though...he has absolutely no chance of winning a boxing match with Mayweather...

It'd be a spectacle.

Also who do we talk to about getting someone else the keys to this thread so we can update the title?
Title updated bud...Come on now, I know I dont frequent the FBGs as much these days but Im usually consistent at updating for decent fights.

Excited for the fight tonight although Im pretty confident in Canelo winning a clear decision.

When is the fight tonight? If anyone has a good stream I'll* name my first born after you.

*I'm probably sterile

Yeah Lemieux looked solid but Id think these days Canelo should be having a much much better direct undercard fight. That said, glad this main event will be starting easily before midnight  :excited:

what about Lemieux canelo before canelo GGG?
When Canelo took the PBF fight I thought it was a few fights too soon. I think Lemieux would be a good fight for Canelo prior to fighting GGG. Regardless of his status now, he needs to go against a couple KO artists prior to fighting GGG.
