Had it Thurman 115-113 as well. Also love that Thurman's calling out Garcia.

Hopefully 147 will start to coalesce. Brook/Vargas is a good start. It's going to be interesting to see if Pac has any interest in really cleaning out and winning the belts at 147, or if he's just going to take one-offs and pick up some money. And Spence is coming.

Canelo apparently set to fight on December 10 on HBO! This seems like damage control/something for his fans after he took such a big L when the Smith fight was announced.

Pazienza and Duran movies coming out this year!

shutup.  official?
GGG tweeted it, that's as official as it gets, right? Sept 10 in London.

Brook's a big welterweight, but pivoting towards what was looking like a fairly tough147 in Vargas, he's taking on the #1 160 and arguably the #1 p4p guy with two months' notice. He's had a couple of catchweight fights at 152, but has never fought at middleweight before.

There's going to be a lot of money for both guys. Vargas was dragging his feet negotiating with Brook, and apparently Eubank Jr. had "lost his pen" according to GGG, so I guess they're both out in the cold now.

I feel like hes trying to one up what Khan did.  I do commend his effort.

I feel like Khan was just sacrificing himself to get a payday. Brook, at least, has the skills/size to move up. He'd been casting around for a big fight, he's got one now.

PaddyPower opens up at GGG -1000, Brook +550.

It may be for a check...but I applaud Khan and Brook for going for it.

Golden Boy is gonna ruin his boy's rep if he keeps messing around.

I think they already did a lot of damage. The reaction on social media to the Canelo/Smith announcement was pretty one-sided, a lot of "I am/was a Canelo fan, but..." And you know that thing is going to do #### numbers. Bad Left Hook did a poll where I think 6% of responders -- on a boxing-only site, mind you -- said they'd order the PPV. Far more said they'd stream it illegally, or not watch at all.

I think the non-PPV fight in December's an effort to try and re-strengthen his base. The loss to Mayweather didn't hurt his career, but ceding the belt to GGG has, IMO.

#######...him & Gatti were two of my favorite fighters ever...never forget him vs Greg Haugen on ABC....& their trilogy.  ####...boxing used to be so awesome...
i watched Vinny fight Haugen in the devils den live with my then GF ...the atmosphere was electric

really enjoyed that announcing team on these fights tonight. no yelling, no hyperbole.

entertainment level of the fights probably went in order from the first being best to the Wilder fight least.  he clearly outclassed Arreola. should have boxed instead of half-assing and ####### around so much.

Rigondeaux (avail on YouTube if you haven't seen it)...

First round I think Rigo landed one clean shot at the end to win the round convincingly, don't think Dickens touched him with anything. In the second round, Rigo landed a big left to Dickens' jaw, which broke it, and ended the fight after 2. Sucks that it ended before he could really go to work, but also a good testament to Rigo's underrated power.

There is no way that Felix Diaz should've won on the strength of that 1 point deduction, it should've been a wide decision. Awful.

Missed the fights tonight.  Was hoping Arreola would surprise me.  Always liked him but kind of knew he would get outclassed.   I need to catch the replay.

Watching Kovalev fight from the other day.  Russia funny.  They let the last round go 10 seconds long because Kovalev was closing in.  Geez.

Kovalev won decisively but props to Chilemba.  Guy balled out.

it was a weird one. i can see where a judge might have thought it was a 3 pt fight but certainly not anything like a draw.

Excited for the fight tonight. Never seen Postol fight so no comment on what I expect, but it looks to me like Crawford's toughest opponent in 2 years (Gamboa). I see Postol KO'd Matthysse in his last fight, was that close at that point or was Postol in control up to that point? Either way Im doubting Crawford leaves the ranks of the unbeaten tonight. Anything to see in the undercard Valdez-Rueda fight? Valdez is a huge -1800 favorite.

Going back to last week, I expected Wilder to dominate and KO Arreola within 4 rounds, but if he broke his right hand and tore his biceps (though I dont recall him saying what round that/they occurred in), than I can't hold the late TKO against him.

Great chance for FOTY tonight with Sergio Martinez getting a rematch against Paul Williams on HBO. Williams won the fight last December on a majority decision, 115-113, 114-114, and a controversial 119-110 card....Based on how the 2nd half of the fight last year went, I gotta favor Martinez here despite Big Pun Williams being arguably my favorite boxer going these days. Martinez knows what to expect this time, and appeared to figure out Williams as the fight went on while landing a ton of power shots...I think Martinez by decision but Ill be rooting for Williams
I have been hyped for this fight for months.  Only GGG-Canelo could get me more amped about a possible fight; yes, I put this above Kovalev-Stevenson, Kovalev-Ward, even Wilder-Joshua.

I see Crawford-Postol as very similar to Leonard-Hearns I.  Like Hearns, Postol is a giant for the weight.  Like Hearns, Postol is getting a lot of mileage out of his last KO win but I see his long jab and top-tier boxing ability being his strengths tonight.  Like Leonard, Crawford is an all-around top fighter who can (and may need to) go for the mid-to-late KO.

I can't pick a winner (tho if I was given 6-1 odds, I'd have to bet Postol).  Can't wait!

we can only hope it has the same drama that Hearns  / Leonard 1 did

Ward vs Kovalev. God I hold Andre follows through and isn't hurt in camp. Ward can and should win, but he seems so hesitant about fighting tough fights.

I'm a big Ward stan, and I realize his reputation for being fussy/inactive is probably justified, but he's gone directly for a Kovalev fight. Gotta give both guys credit for that, at least.

Postol/Matthysse fight was interesting. Lots of clutching/grabbing in the first few rounds, and there was def. a language barrier issue. Matthysse won a couple of rounds with some pretty good shots, but Postol controlled the second half of the fight by staying at range and firing away. He caught LM with a flush overhand right in the 11th, I believe, dropped LM, and he just quit on one knee. He seemed to just accept that he was defeated.

Postol's MO is to jab from distance. Anyone gets in close, he tries to clutch and get a tie-up. He is really gangly, but he's a tough customer.
