Good fight ,not great. No drama and no surprises , everyone in here called their predictions right, you guys know our sport ,i can see you love it as much as i do .

Dang, if GGG could have fought the way he finished from the very start. Ended up a good fight tho after a near-snoozefest early

Would have been a another judging travesty in the sport. Although GGG finished better that was still at most an 8-4 fight
I agree. GGG just didn't let it all hang out early enough. tactical but he needed to risk a lot more by crowding Canela & throwing more power shots. 2 fine champions though.
looking forward to Spence-Crawford.

Did I read that right? All three of these GGG-Canelo fights went to a judge's decision?
Not only that, but between the two hardest non-heavyweight punchers of their generation, there wasn't a single knockdown in the three fights
Both those dudes have absolute legit chins. GGG has never been knocked down by anyone. Im trying to think whether Canelo has? I cant recall him going down ever. Thats pretty impressive for two guys who let their hands go.

Its pretty funny though that Canelo tried to knock him out and gave up after a round.

Neither Canelo nor GGG has ever been knocked down. Not to a knee, no glove touching the mat, nothing

Shakur Stevenson missed weight and will be forfeiting his title in advance of tomorrow's fight
He was going to go up anyway after this fight right?
Yeah, but missing weight is a bad look. Oddly (and to his credit), Conceicao is choosing to fight anyway, even though he would have gotten his entire purse for not fighting. A nuance under New Jersey law that most jurisdictions wouldn't allow. On the plus side, he can still win the title. If he loses, it becomes vacant

Finally Jake Paul is fighting a live body ...no hes not a lifetime Boxer ...but Anderson Silva can ****ing box .... he has beaten real boxers including an 8 rd decision over Julio Chavez jr ...the son of boxing legend Julio Caesar Chavez ...Siva has great head movement...very good defense ...he has every punch in boxing in his repertoire ...he has a good jab...hes a southpaw and fights like one ...he has power and makes up for his lack of speed with great timing ...and he can move around the ring like a boxer...this is a step up for Paul ...and i see him being outboxed tonight...he will NOT ko Silva ....Paul will run out of gas and be stopped by Silva sometime after the 6th rd

JCC Jr certainly was a solid boxer but I wouldn't take a win over him for much. JCC Jr obviously lived off his dad's reputation and fighting coal miners and taxi cab drivers. He did have a phase of his career where he was competing at the highest level but he did so mostly by playing the weigh in game so he was always fighting guys much much smaller than him. It caught up with him pretty quickly and he was a pretty lazy fighter by the time he fought Silva. By many accounts those last few years of his career he was partying really hard and not actually doing much training for his fights.

JCC jr is leagues better than anyone Paul has fought so far ,that much i hope we can all agree on. Silva looked good beating him .

JCC Jr in general, for sure. The JCC Jr who fought Silva, I don't know. Paul went the distance, got the knock down. Silva is old enough to be Jake's dad though so I still don't think it proves much.

Jake finally impressed me with this fight, i expected him to get tired but he looked fresh the whole fight.
He just called out Canelo....dear lord man...just stop while you`re ahead

I was expecting Silva to be a walking corpse tonight but he did much better than I expected, outside of the decision to basically give away the first round, he stayed active.

It will be interesting to see who Paul chooses next on this some what fascinating circus run.

Canelo should fight him. Call Paul out on his BS, get an easy high profile fight and cash a big check. Though I don't know the business dealings so I am sure it is far more complicated than that.

Maybe he could get a job as a sparring partner for Canelo and see how that goes first

agreed , its getting more intriguing , he mentioned Nate Diaz , that would be fun just for the buildup alone .

I think Jake would beat Nate , but i also think Nate would do some crazy MMA **** if he felt like he was losing .

The stockton slap won't be as fun with the boxing gloves on :)

It was a fun fight! Jake is improving. No he’s not going to beat a true pro boxer. But dammit these fights are intriguing. Him can Nate Diaz is definitely something i would be curious to see. And hey if he wants to get murdered by Canelo I’ll be here for it

My year-end awards

Knockout of the Year- Deontay Wilder KO 1 Robert Helenius. After back-to-back KO losses to Tyson Fury, one had to wonder if Wilder still had it, if he would still be as aggressive and explosive as he had been before. Helenius was coming off back-to-back wins over previously undefeated Adam Kownacki and was considered a live underdog. But Deontay was Deontay from the moment the bell rung and unloaded the heavy arterilly upon his opponent. Surprisingly, a short right hand was the final blow after many more dramatic punches preceding it.

Round of the Year- Leigh Wood vs Michael Conlan Round 12. The stuff movies are made of. Conlan was leading on all three cards going into the final round. Both were thoroughly exhausted as the round began but went after each other. Wood found some success, which energized him. You could see Conlan feel the danger approaching but he chose to fight instead of run, swinging desperately. With time running out, Wood used a combination to push Conlan back into the ropes, where he unloaded a barrage of punches that knocked Conlan through the ropes to complete the unlikely comeback.

Fight of the Year- Katie Taylor SD 10 Amanda Serrano. The rare FOTY that went the distance and the first to be awarded to a women’s fight, but it was definitely deserving. It had that big fight feel early; from Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair handling the weigh-in intros to Taylor’s entourage fiddling the Game of Thrones theme, not to mention women main-eventing the historic Madison Square Garden for the first time. And yet, the fight exceeded the unreal amount of hype. Serrano took charge early and had the wunderkind in danger of being stopped. Taylor rallied late and closed the gap. Although I personally disagreed with the decision, that didn’t mar the fight at all. Both women eleveated themselves and women’s boxing as a whole, and the world hopes for a rematch in 2023.

Fighter of the Year- Dimitry Bivol. Last year’s winner Canelo Alvarez ceded the throne directly to Bivol in a fight not as close as the scorecards made it seem. Bivol controlled the match with size, reach and, above all else, discipline. He steered away from seeking the knockout, not giving Canelo a chance to make it his kind of fight. Bivol followed that up with a dominant win against previously undefeated Zurdo Ramirez. In a year where many of the best possible fights were not made, Bivol capitalized on his opportunities and earned this crown.

Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul starts at 2PM Eastern time , main event should start around 4 pm .
I`m watching this for sure , curiosity is getting the best of me . Yes Fury is the first real ''boxer'' hes faced , but Fury's record is littered with guys that never won a fight .
He was gassed in 4 rds in a fight, so if Jake Paul can get into the deeper waters than he may win on cardio alone . Neither guy is ever going to win anything substantial in the fight game but it could be entertaining due to unpredictability . Im rooting for Fury but leaning Paul.

Yea im definitely intrigued by this fight. This would be a good win for Jake.

Its still mind blowing to me that someone like Jake Paul is drawing this kind of attention and money , he hasnt even come close to earning it.
Imagine this guy trying to pull this crap during the 80`s when we had some of the most entertaining and greatest fighters and fights in the history of the sport?

I don't get it at all. Sadly, boxing is hanging on by a thread.

I have it dead even going into the 8th and final rd, someone needs to do something to separate themselves
If its a draw i wouldnt be surprised , but i think if its close they give it to Paul
