*OFFICIAL* Thread: WIS X and the Cluster of Sim (1 Viewer)

It says I can't edit my team until the season starts if I confirm my team? Should I do this? How do I simlive?

Gil Hodges 1B(51-52-53-54-55-57)

I changed my mind about four times on this, lol.

Roll set 1

Die rolls: 5

Roll total: 5

1955 fourth best but solid.

It seems that if we just complete our team with scrubs to SimLive then we can't update the players who we actually pick later on. Is that true? I would like to just fill my remaining 4 players with scrubs to SimLive tonight and then update it with the players I actually pick tomorrow but it seems that it isn't possible. Am I wrong here? It gives me a message saying I won't be able to update my team until the seasons starts if I confirm it.

1st exhibition game of the year:

Disco Stew and the Yayo: 9

The Big Units: 5

My pitching was predictably shaky. Wilber Wood looked shaky, Nolan Ryan looked shaky, and of course, Jack Taylor was turrible.

How do I get to the point to SIMLive? Will I be able to change my team after?

Yes, everyone but the league founder can exit the league and edit roster then rejoin. At least this is how its been for a while.

I'm proud to announce that all my research and effort has resulted in probably the worst team ever drafted in WIS history.

I type this after a 17-3 slaughter thanks to ianfitzy's team.

Based on my two games I have simmed so far...Koya and I are very evenly matched it seems, I think it was a 12 inning game which I managed to squeeze a win out of.MrPhoenix might have some problems in the league.Jack Taylor is the worst player in this sim.Mantle and Snider are a good 1-2 punch.Cy Morgan and Waddell will each walk 100+Peavy and Gooden look to do well.

4-0 on the night. :)

10-8 W vs. Koya

17-3 W vs. MrP

10-0 W vs. Koya

6-0 W vs. Pik

Rube Waddell just threw a CG 2 hit shutout. GB throwing 117 pitches and still having 82 stamina.

SimLive already, I love it.

Who wants to get shut out by Cy Young?

I'm in Open Play 1 if anyone's up for it.

I had the best Jack Taylor one SIM and that version wasn't too hot. One of my blacklisted players along with Gwynn and a few others. Keep in mind SIM preseason isn't usually a great indicator of in-season success although it is an indicator. Teams who crushed me in preseason couldn't touch me during the year.

(Coombs) did have a .344 OBP as a batter, which may come in handy since I have 13 pitchers on my roster
It's going to be fun having no offensive bench ... I'm right there with you

Sorry guys...

Was out of town since Friday with no computer access and my stupid phone died...

23. 13 Riggs Stephenson, 2B/OF

21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 29

Four of the years he can play 2B and would be a nice 100 PA fill-in for Morgan. His best OF year would make an excellent pinch-hitter. His second best OF year would be a passable PH although that roll would suck.

23. 13 Riggs Stephenson, 2B/OF

1923. Worst offensive year hands down, but comes with nice defense at 2B, 3B and OF so he'll make a good utility guy I guess.

Someone should let DD know he will be up soon since it is a 15 minute clock.

23.08 Clark Griffith - SP, Manager, Owner
selected years: 1898, 1899, 1900, 1901, 1903, 1905preference order: 98, 05, 99, 01, 00, 03
rolled a 1, so 1898, top choice. ERA+ of 192. The performance history shows 118 seasons with an average of 369 IP, a 23-16 record, and an ERA of 3.42.1898 must be my lucky year. Got very good seasons from Griffith and Kid Nichols in 1898.

16. Covering Home by Jack Petrash – little gem of a book for fathers. I give this book to the long-term owners in my roto league, when they complete a decade in the league.

17. Hall of Fame postcards by Perez-Steele Galleries

18. The Last Days of Summer by Steve Kluger

from Amazon... "Mixing nostalgia, baseball and a boy's mostly epistolary friendship with a 1940s baseball star, this inventive but sentimental novel consists entirely of letters, fictional newspaper clippings, telegrams, war dispatches, report cards and other documentary fragments. Growing up Jewish in a tough, Italian Brooklyn neighborhood, Joey Margolis is troubled by anti-Semitic neighbors, by Hitler's rising power, by his parents' divorce and by his absent cad of a father. Craving a surrogate dad, Joey strikes up a correspondence with Wisconsin-born New York Giants slugger Charlie Banks. The boy's outrageous fibs, tough-guy posturing and desperate pleas grab the reluctant attention of the superstar, whose racy vernacular guy-talk (peppered with amusing misspellings and misusages) hints at his deepening affection for Joey. Charlie is a politically enlightened proletarian ballplayer with a heart of gold. His liberal views find an echo in Joey, whose best friend, Japanese-American Craig Nakamura, gets shipped off with his family to a wartime internment camp. In a plot that swerves from Joey's Bar Mitzvah to a White House meeting with President Roosevelt to a tearjerking climax, Kluger keeps changing the pace and piles on a slew of period references with a heavy hand. Despite these flaws, this debut novel is at its best a poignant, golden evocation of one boy's lost innocence."
