Official Travis Henry Thread (1 Viewer)

From Rotoworld:

Travis Henry (ribs, questionable) called himself a "Game-time decision" for Monday night after going through a limited practice on Saturday.

When asked how he felt, Henry replied, "Better than I did yesterday and the day before. Game-time decision, you know. Go in Monday early and do what I got to do. I plan to (play), I want to play." Henry will take a pain-killing injection just prior to kickoff in hopes it provides enough relief for him to suit up. Even if he is active, a less than 100% Travis Henry versus a stout Packer defense, isn't worth holding out hope for.

Per TSN:

Oct. 27, 2007 - 2:54 p.m.

The Denver Post reports Henry (ribs) was able to practice on a limited basis Saturday. He likely will be a game-time decision Monday.

Fantasy Source spin: A tough decision just got tougher. Even if Henry is active, he seems destined to share carries. If I owned Henry, I'd bench him unless my other options were horrible

I'm leaving Henry in over starting DeShaun Foster. However my situation may be unique compared to others since I have Selvin Young also. And, in my Yahoo league, if they announce a few minutes before tomorrow's kickoff that Henry isn't giong to play I could always plug in Young (at least I think I can. I don't think our positions lock at 1pm.)

Just wanted to give other Henry owner's an idea of what another Henry owner is doing.

However, I think I'd do the same even if I didn't have Young. Henry practiced limited on both Thursday and Friday, has an extra day to rest/heal, and I read he is going to take a pain-killing needle prior to kickoff. This is the same guy that played with a broken leg a few years ago.

I'd roll with Henry no matter what. :goodposting:

I remember him actually playing with broken ribs for much of the year in Buffalo. The dude is TUFF no doubt about it.

Actually it was a broken leg. (Small Bone)

The tough choice here is owners who may want to unleash Selvin Young this week but have no other MNF alternatives if Henry is a go. I have good but not great alternatives all going Sunday. I don't think this is the week to use Selvin even if he goes off.

I have the POS situation where byes already have me thin and I also "have" to start Drew. If both these 2 tank or look very limited, I'd need to pick up someone.

I agree Henry is the type who will play hurt, but any updates or info before 1 PM (even guesstimates by local "insiders") appreciated as this sounds very dicey.

So what's the consensus? For those who don't have Young and have to finalize lineups now, are you confident enough to stick Henry in there or are you going with your next best option?

I have both Henry and Young in 2 leagues. I can swich up until 8:55pm EST tonight -

Currently I have Henry IN, but I'm thinking Young might be the better choice.

I think it would be a mistake to over-think this. If Henry starts, he's in my line-up. If not, then Young starts in one, and Hall in another.

Guy has a long history of playing thru injuries.

I feel the same way. I have Henry in, but will monitor the late minute news to decide between him and Selvin. IF I were a betting man I would choose Henry, dude is tough as nails. I just hope he doesnt take a shot 3 plays in and Selvin Young has a good game thereafter. But, such is life. I just need him and Jennings to score 25 points :lmao:

I've got Henry and Selvin. BUT, I'm leaving for the game at noon MST. I wish I could wait for the last minute news. I suppose I better put Selvin in and hope.

Let's keep this on page one as I know a lot of us will be checking in throughou the day to see updates. Any chance this can be pinned as it's probably the big determiner for tonight?

yeah it was pinned sunday morning, should be tossed up there today. I know my week depends on if Henry is a go or not.

This is a tough one for myself since I only need five points out of Henry. If he takes only a few carries and is replaced I should just start Young. Even if Henry goes, it will be split time and young is going to get the catches.

Ya gotta love a guy who leaves for the game 6 and a half hours before kickoff. Depending on what part of the Springs you are in, it should only take about an hour to get to the stadium, which leaves 5 and a half hours for  :banned: :banned: I hope you have a designated :drive:

I started Young in place of Henry. Little or no practice all week has me very skeptical on his ability to take 15-20 hits on those ribs.

I don't usually go up THAT early, but I'm bringing a coupla GBs (one a diehard Packer fan) that don't get to see many games so they're excited to go early. But the weather's perfect and I need to drown my Rockies sorrows.

Hasn't Green Bay been tough against the run this year? Could be risky either way. But I guess if you have both of them and need to start one, I get it.

Did the same thing. My league requires the full lineup in by 9:55am on Sunday. Hoping Henry sits.

I did the opposite. Have Young and Henry and given Henry's history with playing in pain, I went with Henry. Hope he plays.....

In PPR leagues Young would outscore Henry in this type of game as a owner of both im almost hoping he starts

I also started Young over Henry. I, unfortunately, had to set my lineup by 1pm Sunday. Luckily, I am ahead tonight with a sizable lead going into tonight. I just did not feel comfortable starting Henry knowing I could role the dice on Young and it pay off. Either way, looks like I will get the W.

As a Young owner "in wait-and-see" status I hope to see Young get a lot of work tonite. I'm not starting him but I do want to see what he can do. That being said, Henry is a warrior as a few posters have mentioned. He's played with broken ribs and a broken leg. The guy is tough as nails. A bit ironic as well that the NFL allows Henry to be INJECTED with pain killers, likely narcotics, so that he can play tonite yet they want to suspend him for a year for smoking marijuana off the field.

I freaking HATE Ahmad Green! If I had not checked Rotoworld five minutes before the 4 p.m. games I would not have seen him being de-activated!

I was forced to put in the only other RB on my roster who had not played yet. His name is Selvin Young!!! C'mon Selvin, get on your high horse and get 20+ points for me tonight so I can win this week! :boxing:

F'ed up - isn't it?BTW - for the record...... not "likely narcotics"...... ABSOLUTELY C2 class narcotics. C2s, for those that don't know, are one below your Morphine drips and "madicinal cocaine" on the federal scale.

Well I only have Henry in one league and I decided to sit him rather than take a zero - total points qualifying for playoffs.

It didn't help a lot since I picked the wrong sub to play in that league (and the right one would have only been worth a few more points), but did help me in rooting interest for tonight because in another league (auction) where I am fighting for first place, I am ahead now but my opponent has Henry going tonight, so at least I don't have to root against myself.

laughinboy - I have one Ahman Green team too, but I suspect your sub is better than the one I had to activate yesterday - Ryan Grant, so with Green out and LJ on bye, I am starting the dreaded Packers RBBC - Wynn and Grant.....Please give them the ball Brett

Travis Henry-RB-Broncos Oct. 29 - 2:35 pm et

Travis Henry (questionable, ribs) is expected to take a pain-killing shot with the idea of playing against the Packers on Monday night.

However, Henry won't be 100 percent and it seems likely that he may lose a significant number of carries to Selvin Young and the Broncos' slew of other ball carriers. The pre-game inactives will be posted at roughly 7:30 ET.

Related: Selvin Young

Per Rotoworld

So 7:30 we will know..guessing it wont be a great night for either...guessing Henry goes for as long as he can tonight

well this is exactly what i didn't want to hear... guess we'll wait and see and ideally now henry can't go

ESPN just said that he is going to take a pain killing shot and then attempt to play......
SWEET! I'm in a distance TD league. So for once in your worthless life, Travis, break off one huge TD run, and then leave the game to make the others happy!I'll even take Steven Jackson's performance yesterday!

Could be the best thing to happen for me. I don't need Henry tonight, and if Selvin does really well, I will package them both up in a trade this week for DA and someone.

Unless he does really, really, REALLY well.

Damn this isnt too good for those who have both players.
I have both and only down 2 points (no one left on other team). Starting to get worried, especially with the news about the pain killer shot. Henry could easily be pulled after a few plays... if I start Young, Henry could go the whole game and Young will get 18 yards. :wall:

Could be worse you could be down by 25 and have to pick 2 out Wynn,Henry,Young or Jennings :bag:

I need 100 and a score from either Henry or Young to win this week. I would like Henry to sit, since I am afraid that Henry will get pulled early, but I don't think that I can start Young if Henry starts the game.

just watching PTI and Kornheiser said it is his birthday today (Henry, 29)

does this sway anybody's decision???
