This is saying you don't need Amazon AWS when you probably did. This is using someone else's finished source code, breaking the rules while doing it,  and still not getting a product off the ground.

Have you seen their most recent investor presentation?

When they aren’t comparing themselves to Disney, the whole thing is a flimsy joke with no chance in succeeding. I’m not convinced they really care - it’s just another grift, probably, that will dissipate into the ether as they move to the next one.

Page 22 (Infrastructure, of course) is my favorite. This is where a real, actual company run by serious, smart people, would provide details on their actual product. Instead, these dudes just give definitions of infrastructure-sounding words.

For example, number 1 is “users.” Here, a real company run by non-grifting dotards would explain their Total Addressable Market, like the type of user they intend to attract, how many there are overall that fit this profile, and how many they think they can obtain. Maybe even a strategy or two to do so. They do this so potential investors can see that the company is run by competent people with an actual plan. But Truth Social? Here’s how they explain their users:

• A sales representative who travels to visit customers
• Actors may be internal or external to an organization

It just goes to show that that guy does not read what I post and probably has no idea of how easy most low level J6 defendants are getting off.

 
Day Eight on the Waitlist. I checked in with the app a little earlier than normal. No change.

If I had the time, I would type out some of the 5-star reviews on the App Store, they are classic. Happycow01 telling you "it's insane how many people are on it, sharing great TRUTHS". Helodriver27 states that this magic platform is scaring the "establishment" who is afraid you will learn what they have been up to all your life. And Truth Trounce just ends their review with "Freedom."

Some blamed the company's CEO and former congressman Devin Nunes for the uncertainty surrounding the app. One person said to Nunes, "You launch a site that has very low capacity, you invite big accounts early, and let We The People hang in limbo. So far so bad. O and you pick the most communist deep state platform Apple to be the only entree. @DonaldTrumpJr Fail, losing not winning. I am 253K."

My guess, is that with the help of the Mastodon software, they were able to put together a decent mock-up to show Trump. Shows most of the features, has some canned accounts to interact with, and that meeting was awesome. So many thumbs ups and high-fives. So Trump said, "Let's Launch!!" and they had no idea how to handle capacity, bandwidth, any number of back-end issues. And that is what they are figuring out now. They put out something pretty and just hoped it would work. Still really curious how Apple approved it as is.

I have no doubt it will get up and running. And I have no doubt it will look just like Twitter from a technological side. And there will be a moment or two where someone claims victory over "Big Tech" and then it will be just like Parler or Gab or GettrDone.

Thanks, I appreciate the responses. I know zero about coding/app-making etc, so I was genuinely curious. Did not realize there was such a backlog and had such colossal issues so far, was interested in joining purely to lurk/entertainment. Does anyone know if they have any high-level/proven people working on this other than some politicians? Is Devin Nunes working this as like some "close enough to Silicon Valley, this should work" kind of thing? I know he represented SLO regions here in CA, but I don't remember too much about him being from the tech field (other than participating in weird lawsuits w tech corporations).

Props to @McBokonon and his post earlier, you can see their awesome Investor Presentation, and on page 21 is the "Technology Team" where you get first names and last initials and companies that they have worked for, or interacted with, or something.

Hope not prying too much, but do you see yourself selling at a certain price or selling if the app really isn't working until the end of March? Expectations vs Results and all that. Hitting it's all time high today is interesting. 95.73 as I type.

I won't touch it right now.

If the platform doesn't get fixed and get millions to using it - DWAC could fall to $5 a share

If WWIII breaks out, it'll fall

It could easily go to $200 with tens of millions of subscribers, advertising etc 

But no, I'm NOT buying right now. At all

The news cycle has pretty much finished with the site for now. The same stories from the last few days are still at the top of search results. Some interesting tidbits though if you search around on first hand accounts on twitter and Interwebs:

  • Truth Social now ranks 59th in the App Store, just behind SoundCloud, Planet Fitness and Tinder.
  • It seems that Trump himself has lost interest. Despite having access and having 80,000 followers, he has yet to post a single "truth" to his account. Instead he is sharing his thoughts on TV and radio.
  • Has eerie similarities to his blog 45office.com which hasn't been updated in nine months. and FundAnything where Trump promised to contribute a new campaign a week but soon abandoned the site.
  • The SPAC investment thesis is riding on Trump bringing over a large share of his 88 million Twitter followers. It's still early, but will be interesting what percentage does move over.
  • People are posting on Twitter photos of their TS Profiles, with followers, but they can't get in and still on the Waitlist.
  • Parler had a big presence at CPAC (and they are launching an NFT project), while Truth Social could not be found there.
My favorite tweet was from Chuck Callesto who "talked to a Rep at Truth Social" and they told him that "many workers SPENT THE NIGHT at the office, helping out". To be a fly on that wall...

You're not suggesting attempting suicide, are you? Each of those items is likely well past their expiration date, even if frozen this whole time. All of them are most likely rebranded/repackaged crap also. Nothing original. Exactly like TruthSocial.

 
Day Twelve on the Waitlist. No movement. I did receive the letter last night asking me to be patient. "We appreciate your eagerness to join our fight against Big Tech censorship", "We are building a platform to take on Big Tech, but in a fraction of the time." I don't know, maybe get everyone in the app before taking victory laps in a battle that only you see.

App moved to 90th place at the App Store, rating moved down to 4.2 from a 4.8 last week. The reviews are enjoyable reading. I will admit that the most steadfast supporters are going to take the time to broadcast.

A little research into Mastodon, the source code that Truth Social is using, has it come across as the "little platform that could", the software is used as "mini Twitter" inside other sites and they call their posts "toots" as opposed to "tweets". They have some interesting privacy and moderation tools, that it sounds like TS stripped away. The platform has been around since March 2016, and claiming a total number of users across all instances of Mastodon of 4.4 million users. The question of scalability is clearly in question if TS is going to hit the numbers they are promising to their investors.

Day Thirteen on the Waitlist. No movement. Did hear of someone about 50k in front of me getting in, but they are a media member, so you know, total bias. Ranked 104th in the App Store, just below Akinator (Genie who can read your mind) and above Paramount+ (for all your Star Trek needs). Facebook at number 4 and Twitter at number 18 for those comparing.

Outside of reporting that Trump has been heard dropping F-bombs on the phone when discussing TS, this article has interesting stats on how long users spend on TS (90 seconds) vs. Gettr (7 min) and Gab (9 min). Number of daily visitors spiked at 2 million early, but has settled around 300k a day, same at Gettr but behind Gab (650k per day). 

My favorite quote: "He’s repeatedly groused about the negative press and the less-than-stellar optics of the rollout, these sources said. And he’s demanded to know why more people aren’t using it—why the app isn’t swiftly dominating the competition."

To answer your question, yes, that is what DJT told everybody. I could speculate that he might have attempted this venture anyway because he was also pissed off about a number of his tweets being labeled misinformation. There's no way to know for sure though. Regardless, being banned appears to be the major influence for the motivation behind this TruthSocial endeavor. A final minor possibility exists that he could have been lying about the reasoning behind it and that it is simply another avenue to pursue in which to grift money from donors once again. A functioning end product would put that possibility to bed, I believe.

I have to agree that one being banned from Twitter and the other not appears awfully inconsistent. In fact, it is. I'm curious where the distinction between the two (within Twitter management) lies. Is there a Twitter thread available where this inconsistency could be discussed appropriately?

Another point of possible interest. Do you think Putin would be banned from TruthSocial if he were to join/attempt to join? Or, would he be welcome to post "his truths?"

Il not a Twitter expert or speaking in one way or the other of their banning policies but I believe they do not ban the handles of government agencies or the official handle of a position in government. They will flag posts with that “misinformation” tag.

Majorie Taylor Greene’s personal handle was banned but not the one the runs from her Congressional Office.

Not sure if that is the distinction they have made here on Putin.

 
All I see from the official Putin account is tweets like "I spoke with Macron today" or "The President discussed economic situation with XXX"

 
The long wait for @Bogart may soon be over. A staff writer at Politico reported that she got her notification yesterday morning. She was 169,000 and change on the list. No "truths" posted by The Don yet, though.

This site is gonna be a game changer.

I've never seen a single Tweet by Putin on Twitter, so I've never seen him violate the terms of service. Has he? If all he posts are memes of cats playing musical instruments, I wouldn't have an issue with that. But I have no idea what he posts and don't intend to put any effort into finding out.

I read that they projected 88 million users immediately after launch so 169,000 is a pretty good place in line.

The website has removed the waitlist feature, instead put up two mockup of phones running the site. One guy discussing inflation and interest rates post COVID, and another guy claiming that he set up the stage for DJ Khaled in Atlanta and its going to be 🔥🔥

This story comes from The Federalist, and while I feel like they could have found something to sink their teeth into, the author basis their entire thesis on two Medium articles, written by the same guy, who has 617 followers. The idea that that qualifies as "mainstream media" or even the plural version of Leftists is humorous at best.

I read this yesterday and stopped after I got to the point where "leftists" (plural) equals exactly one regular Joe Sixpack I've never heard of.  The far right have been doing this forever.

1. He didn't say that, nor did I get that from his post. Seemed a fair observation to me as that is exactly what the author of the piece did.

2. Can we at least agree it (broad brushing) shouldn't be done, at all, by either side?

3. I've always felt that multiple data points proving a point are far better than just one. This alone could nearly eliminate broad brush accusations. ALL media needs to do a lot better.

 
Day Fifteen on the Waitlist.

No real news to share. I few other websites took last week's news and spewed it out as their own. Most of twitter is jokes about it failing. DWAC is down substantially this morning.

I think calling it a failure is still premature. Not ready to do that. But in a world where the next thing comes and goes quickly, I'm not sure how much steam they are going to have come the end of March if they do eventually get it up and running fully. And will it really be a success if the biggest names on there (sans Trump) still come over to Twitter to say what they are saying over at TS? We will see.

For the love of all things holy, PLEASE share the truth. I really only get Big Tech information, so it would be great if my eyes could be opened by anything Kyle Rittenhouse and Senator Woke-ahontas can share.
