*****Official "Truth Social" Thread***** (Trump's social media platform) (1 Viewer)

It is interesting that people who purport to dislike Trump the most spend so much time consuming the Trump News Cycle.

It is interesting that people who purport to dislike Trump the most spend so much time consuming the Trump News Cycle.
I don't actively search for DJT news to consume so, if he would just shut up and go away like every other losing president in my lifetime there would be less news to consume. But, since he won't shut up, continues to lie about a stolen election, continues to hold rallies where he hints very strongly at running again and is the subject of numerous ongoing investigations into his very likely criminal conduct prior to and during his years "serving" as this country's president it is highly unlikely that he will disappear from anyone's news feed any time soon. Proof of this is evidenced by another episode of "DJT Solicits Foreign Help to Sling Dirt on a Political Opponent," which apparently aired last night and I read about this morning upon my waking.

I find it interesting that seemingly intelligent people can't put two and two together and sum it up as I just did.

I don't disagree. I have done my fair share of "hate-scrolling" and other media consumption about Trump. I disagree with about everything Trump has done and continues to do and I'm curious about what's going on with him. I think he is a slimy con man who duped half the nation.

But this "experiment" of following this social media platform is more about the people that support, follow and even worship him. I still think the worst thing that Trump has done is he has made it socially acceptable to be an ###hole. He didn't make them that way, they already are or aren't. But with his words, his actions and deeds, he has made it OK to say the silent hateful things outloud. And again, people have always been mean and hateful and racist and angry, but "hey, since the president can call other places ####hole countries, so can I".

And again, yes there have always been angry, ranting people. But they were the strange outliers you would see on occasion. Now I can't go to my parents church without the pastor warning the congregation of Californians flocking to our beloved Texas or preaching on a Fox News article about "the hateful leftists" (both actually happened). I drive 30 mins 4 times a week to pick up and drop off my kids who live in the country, and I pass a half dozen to dozen "Let's Go Brandon" or "FJB" or "Trump" flags in front of houses. You just didn't see this before. You could have hated Bush or Clinton or Obama, and the most you might see in normal civilization was a bumper sticker.

Huge long rant to say, I'm really curious how we got this separated as a nation. How you can have "loving Christian mother and wife" in your bio and show pictures of your gun cabinet and talk about "shooting Libbys" in the street. I know I focus more on the Christian Trump fans because I grew up in the church and I don't get it, but I clearly want to know what is going on, on both sides. Same reason I dipped my toe into this part of the forum.

I know we can’t close our eyes and pretend none of it exists.  But I really don’t hear much about Trump at all.  I think most people preoccupied with him- not even talking about 2024 but making an official thread about his dumb social media page or what have you- I just find it kind of ironic.  It’s no mystery that the cable news channels loved the ratings they got from Trump.  I think in some perverse way the networks and the viewers love getting their 2 minutes of hate.  I could be wrong but at least part of the problem is people still giving him so much oxygen.

That being said I drove past a couple police officers walking on the 31 bridge that passes over the river here.  I wondered wtf was going on.  When I got on the underpass I realized what they were dealing with- someone managed to hang huge TRUMP 2024 and MAGA flags UNDER THE BRIDGE.  I laughed hysterically and went on my way.  But you’re right, you certainly can’t help but notice sometimes.

I absolutely get what you’re saying- but I think what angers me more than anything else is the system that gave us Trump.  Donald Trump was basically laughed out of the election cycle in the past.  What changed between then and now?  In my view, it’s that people’s faith in institutions deteriorated so gravely (rightfully so) that they just didn’t care anymore.  They saw that the establishment couldn’t stand him, was repulsed by him.  It was satisfying to them to vote for Trump because if they’re hurting, maybe they could hurt their tormentors for once.

It is unfortunate that people are not kinder these days.  It’s a sign of societal decay.  But it’s been a long time coming.

Most every church that I know of has taken a political stance one way or another, some much more obvious than others. None will lose their status in my opinion. The optics of the church being "persecuted for preaching the truth" would be too much.

We have the biggest of yuge news tonight!!

From our favorite farmer @devin tonight - "Excited to add @DonaldJTrumpJr and @EricTrump to TRUTH! Welcome to FREEDOM!  @DanScavino is so excited he can't control his super powers..."

And then a picture of Dan with lasers shooting out of his eyes. Both the Trump boys have red verified checkmarks. And neither have posted anything, but it's early still. Also Junior immediately has more followers than Eric, 26.9k to 21k. Eric just can never catch a break.

We have our first post from DJTJ - "Who's ready for some truth! LFG!!!"

If the Trump family actually posts on a regular basis, that would do wonders for the mood in the room and probably help with followers. If this was a one time canned message, TS is in trouble.

Asked our stock loan for a borrow on this and got an immediate "NO GOOD".  That's not very common for stocks priced up at $68....

Maybe he saw the new stories for today:

They all tell the same story, and yes, that is dogpile on the links, but the numbers are quite interesting, data from Sensor Tower and SimilarWeb.

  • Downloads of the app average only about 60,000 a week after the launch week of 872,000 downloads, a 93% decline.
  • Total downloads of the app is around 1.2 million. To compare, Parler has around 11.3 million.
  • Visits to the app, which was about 6 million a week during it's launch have fallen to 1.2 million per week. This puts it off pace with GETTR, who has 1.9 million per week.
  • As discussed, the app has fallen out of the Top 200 apps on the App Store for Apple.
  • The website, which is just a landing spot to tell you to download the app, saw 6 million views on launch week and is down to 1.9 million this week.
The most telling number is the number of visits to the app. People showed up, looked around, and left.

FB - 206.16/share - Market Cap 561.16B

TWTR - 34.32/share - Market Cap 27.48B

I don't think you can compare TS to FB, but let's see how this plays out.

DWAC - 90.31/share - Market Cap - 3.36B

I for one, hope you make a ton of money on DWAC. As for me, I'm going to keep my money in a safer place

At close today:

  • DWAC - 68.47/share - Market Cap - 2.55B
  • TWTR - 39.00/share - Market Cap - 31.23B
  • FB - 227.85/share - Market Cap - 620.19B
This morning, the SEC announced that it was proposing new rules for investigating SPACs. These changes would “amend safe harbor rules and leave SPACs open to investor lawsuits for excessively rosy business forecasts.” Could be bad news for DWAC.

Why Did Digital World (DWAC) Stock Close Down Today? - Bad news from the SEC isn't even the biggest problem for DWAC stock

So, we have both boys posting on the site last night, which shocked me. Junior's first post after his welcome was a meme with Jada Pinkett Smith with a mouth full of hot dogs, comments on some worse memes about the Smith's relationship, says he's stealing a Trump crying emoji, and then hocks a new, free News App that promises true news. Then a dozen comments "with the community" trying to prove it's not someone being paid to post for him.

Eric has been less busy. Two welcome posts "getting the whole gang back together, a news story and meme about Trump suing Hillary and then asking the community if they should add a Trump Cider to the menu at Trump Winery, and what should it be called.

Honestly, it doesn't feel like either one of them, literally someone in a room trying to figure out what they would say.

Have you been receiving fundraising emails or right wing news emails you never received until you signed up for this? I’ve always contended they never really planned on creating a successful product/business and this was just another transfer of funds via poorly regulated spacs. Wondering if email address harvesting was part of the grift.

I'm so sorry you had to read that.  And then come here and post about it.  That sucks.  But I think he was referencing the guy that is on Truth Social purposely checking in every day to provide updates to this thread, running stats on the company behind the social media.  It feels like quite the commitment.

I haven't yet. And kind of surprised. Feels like they are going to try and keep it legit until they can't.

Well said, sir. It's honestly 15-20 minutes a day that has taken away from other important things. Like watching porn, napping or ironically, scrolling on Twitter.

Awe, thanks GB!! That makes all the sacrifices and efforts worth it.

Did I miss the big, end of March rollout? Nunes said it would fully operational by the end of March.

This the third self imposed deadline missed.  So predictable.

Ironically, a lot of the people on the site are asking "when is it going to launch?" and pinging Devin Nunes specifically. Everyone thinks they are still part of the "beta test team". Devin is too busy playing meme wars with Dan Scavino to notice. The TruthSocial and TruthSupport accounts mentioned an update that fixed bugs tied to Apple iOS, but nothing about a complete product. (Funny thing, TruthSocial welcomed Junior to the site but not Eric.)

They need an Android and/or Web version in the worst way. They need messages. You can see the faithful starting to turn. Junior and Eric made them happy for about 36 hours. We need TFG.

As I posted in this thread, very predictable in today's world. It would be different if it were a unique product.  Nobody has patience anymore.

EXCLUSIVE Two key tech execs quit Truth Social after troubled app launch

Josh Adams and Billy Boozer - the company’s chiefs of technology and product development - joined the venture last year and quickly became central players in its bid to build a social-media empire, backed by Trump’s powerful brand, to counter what many conservatives deride as “cancel culture” censorship from the left. Less than a year later, both have resigned their senior posts at a critical juncture for the company’s smartphone-app release plans, according to two sources familiar with the venture.

This part is funny:

Adams and Boozer worked at a level just below Wes Moss and Andy Litinsky, both former castmates on “The Apprentice,” Trump’s hit reality TV show, according to a source familiar with the venture.

Serious man. Serious businessman.

It appears this venture is going to crash and burn before it even gets truly off the ground. I wonder, how is that even possible? I also wonder if any investors feel they've been duped.

Occam’s Razor gives us two possibilities. This one:

Or the second one, also plausible, is that this is just another business failure in a long line of business failures spearheaded by a lazy, not very bright, incompetent failure.

New Articles today focused on DWAC, nothing really new from a content perspective (but fresh opinions on why and what needs to happen), but I do find it interesting that The Motley Fool and Bloomberg are now reporting the bad news. Those sites get a lot of eyeballs.

The user numbers should give any potential investor pause. Is a company with just 1.2 million downloads and surely less than that in active users worth $10 billion or more? Twitter, by contrast, has a market cap of around $30 billion and counts more than 200 million daily active users. One of those valuations is in a different galaxy than the other.

The buzz word on the app this weekend was "massive engagement". Dan Bongino posted an article on his site that discussed that identical posts on TS vs. Twitter got twice the replies with only 10 percent of the followers. Ironically, his engagement to followers ratios are pretty poor on both, but twice as much is twice as much.

So, Bongino, Devin Nunes and even Don Jr. posted links to this article. I took the time to reply, comparing TS to TV of our youth, rabbit ears and 4 channels, and Twitter was cable with hundreds of channels and on demand movies. When you are the only thing on, you are going to get more eyeballs. Strangely, these comments got likes from the Patriots and not a single backlash comment.

Saturday night I posted pictures of the Trump Rally having half the building cut off and about 100 people outside watching his speech. Shared the attendance numbers from the Fire Marshall and said "Trump will claim he got 20-30 thousand there". This "Christian Patriot" ripped into me, saying that my assumptions just show how much I hate Trump. 10 mins later, Trump gave a statement that there were "7,000 inside and 21,000 trying to get in". This led the Patriot to tell me to get off the site, I'm just trying to start fights. We have had a back and forth ever since, me giving verified facts about Trump and or the site, and her telling me that Google is a horrible research tool, I should be using God instead. At one point she posted asking God to forgive her for sounding hateful to the Liberals set out to destroy the country and help them stop spewing evil from their mouths.

So, nice little Saturday while watching WrestleMania.

This, along with this - Twitter shares soar more than 26% after Elon Musk takes 9% stake in social media company has shares of DWAC dropping (10 percent today) and those on the app heading for the lifeboats. Talking about how money they are losing on DWAC and it's Musk's fault (One guy complained about being down thousands while still having to pay 25/hr for homeschooling) . Others are ready to go back to Twitter as soon as Musk reinstates Trump. Others say they are going to stick it out, but are pretty pissed at the whole situation.

Sounds familiar.  ;)

My only regret is that I didn't have more money to invest in puts.   That switch flipped even faster than I expected.   Two weeks ago when I was still adding I was down $1600 or so on my holding.   Today that is now worth $800.

Some of the profits from this trade will be used to support those in need.

It's laughable that anyone thinks Musk would do this, or that he even has the clout to do it just because he is now the largest shareholder. It's also laughable that any significant number of users of Truth Social abandoned Twitter entirely. I would venture to guess the majority of TS users who have abandoned Twitter did not do so of their own volition, they were also banned. None of those banned are returning to Twitter.

In conclusion, without doing any recognizance of my own, it appears Truth Social is not full of truths but rather falsehoods.

DWAC might be a good buy right now

why?

android version of Social coming out, Trump 2024 presidential news, something/anything positive to give it a 10-20% spike

me? I'm not buying, I have other stocks targeted but DWAC could easily jump with any news at all

There has been no word of an Android version being released, nor a website yet. The two main guys in charge of getting those two things developed and to market have just resigned. Facts are your friend.

I'm too stock illiterate to have figures out how to short this dumpster fire in time.

The meme stocks generally haven't had any shares available to borrow for someone interested in shorting them.  The only avenue to do so has been via options.  A call option gives you the right to buy a stock at an agreed upon price where a put option gives you the right to sell at an agreed upon price.  Either way you need to pay a premium to do so.  The problem with the meme stocks is that the premiums are as crazy as the valuations themselves.

An out of the money option for is typically going to cost you 3-4%.  Of course it depends just how far out of the money it is and when the contract expires.  A contract is equal to 100 shares of common stock.  The premium on meme stocks have been 20%+.

Let's use AMC as an example.

AMC closed at $23.18 per share today.

The ask on a 5/6/22, $25, CALL is $3.55.   One contract will cost you $3.55*100 or $355.   That means by expiration, or you can sell prior, AMC needs to be at $28.55 to break even.

The ask on a 5/6/22, $25, PUT is $5.40.   One contract will cost you $5.40*100 or $540.   That means by expiration, or you can sell prior, AMC needs to be at $19.60 to break even.

Most brokerages will automatically exercise your options for you, if you don't sell prior to expiration, if they are in the money.  However if they aren't in the money, they expire worthless.

I hope this makes sense.  :)

Down 10% today on 4.8mm shares. 10 day avg volume 1.7mm.  This thing is going to collapse absent some sort of miracle.

Is there a revenue model for this? What drives earnings?  Haven't seen anything to indicate an earnings report date or conf call for investors?  What about reporting?  Don't they have to file a 10K or something?  I'm allergic to accounting so not sure what these SPACs are required to file.

This is why Trump hates Wall Street and why he failed so miserably his first time trying to con it.  It requires too much in the way of public disclosure and accounting practices.  Enron changed a great deal of our public market landscape in terms of accounting and auditing procedures and that was 20 years ago.

One last grift.  All at the cost to his loyal voters who probably can't afford to lose the money this stock will rob from them.  Sad!

No to all and on top of it are under investigation still by the SEC.

To your point, when it comes to the stock market, you can't just make wild claims. You actually have to back them up with ironically, truth.

Two things DJT despises immensely. You can't pull off a profitable stock market con if you are forced to expose your con from the start.

I don't feel the least bit sad for his voters who are getting scammed. Again. When the staggering amount of proven evidence that he's just a grifting snake oil conman continues to hit you square in the face and you don't see it.......well, that's on you.

Un-ironically this is another "thing" that DJT despises immensely.
Consider one of the things the SEC wants information about is the claim of a billion dollars in investment.  There's only one place in the world where the Trump's can get a loan, Russia.  That's per Trump Jr.  So even if that money really was promised to them it's likely frozen now.  I doubt it exists though or else why wouldn't you use that money for its intended purpose and hire people so the product can be launched?  My guess is that if that money does exist it went into Trump's private account.

Yeah, there are rumors of missing money that are rampant.  I'd love - LOVE - to see "Corporate Offices" of DWAC.  Bet it looks like the fake office in Boiler Room.

There is zero question in my mind that the claim is a totally fabricated lie. Like all things DJT. Additionally, if there is one subject DJT continually lies about, it is money. If any words cross his lips regarding money, it is 100% a lie. Every single damn time.

They don’t have to do a lot of this stuff because $DWAC hasn’t completed its SPAC merger with Trump Communications or whatever the corporate name behind Truth Social is. That’s the beauty of going the SPAC route: disclosure requirements are minimal and you can make outrageous projections pre-merger. Once the merger is complete they have to do actual quarterly reports and give fairly honest guidance (if they give guidance) but by then, the insiders have made out like bandits already.

I would be shocked if this merger ever actually happens, of course. There’s no real product, no actual plan, and imbeciles/grifters in charge.
