***OFFICIAL Twins vs. Yankees Playoff Thread*** (1 Viewer)

This will be easier than trying to follow two separate threads.

Yankees are -400 to win this, which is insane. I mean, it makes sense and all, but I've never seen a line like that for a series.

If the Twins can manage a split in NY, then who knows - the Metrodome refuses to die.

Also the media is very caught up in the Twins 0-7 record vs. the Yankees this year, but a lot of those games were very tight. I think this will be a better series than a lot of people think.

This would be an upset of epic proportions but I dont feel as comfortable as the media seems to be. One bad bounce here, the Metrodome home field advantage, and a red hot Twins team and anything can happen.

Thanks for starting the thread. I have no idea how the Twins can pull off a win tonight. Flew into NY at 3:30 and the excitment of last night. They have to be beat.

I have to think Friday is the best chance for the Twins to steal one.

I don't expect the Twins to win tonight but they need to avoid a blow out. Keep it close, have limited success off against Sabathia and at least let the Yankees know it will be a series. If Sabathia dominates and it's a 9-1 final the Twins may never get off the ground the entire series. Pitching matup's game 2 and 3 are much more even than tonight.

Whos goin for the Twins in games 2 & 3?

I can see every first round series going either way except for this one.

Good luck Minnesota but I don't see any possible way the Twinkies pull this off.

Spot on.Should be Blackburn and Pavano in 2 & 3.

Blackburn v Burnett game 2Pavano v Pettitte game 3Certainly favors the Yanks still but not as bad on paper as tonights matchup.

Joba promise me there are no midges in the dome.

+329 for tonite, +385 for the series offshore.

In the Mike and Mike show, they were calling this the potential greatest upset EVER in the history of sports. I think thats taking it a little far. In my mind baseball and hockey are 2 sports where upsets can happen frequently. If Minnesota gets some hot pitching in this short series, I see no reason why they can't pull it off.

It barely registers as an upset to me if the Twins win. Like you said, it's baseball. It's not like this Yanks team is an all-time great. Not to mention the best player in the AL plays for the Twins.

Just got home in time to catch the start of the 3rd. Nice start for the Twins.

Also I like the pitch tracker TBS keeps up during the entire at bat.

Duensing kept the ball way down in the first couple innings, he's starting to get it up and they're pounding it, as they will do. Need to settle down and get out of this inning with the score still tied.

I'm rooting for the Twins, but the Yankees are going to be tough to beat.

Defense is not very good tonight for either team.

Liriano is worthless. Gardenhire bringing him in here at all was a sign of either a) we have no arms left or b) we're kind of conceding this game anyway or some combination of the two.

This is why I put my entire betting account on the Yankees -450 to win this series. There was just no way ARod was NOT going to jack one right there. This is what the Yankees do. They eat weak minded pieces of crap like Joe Nathan for breakfast.
Yanks have been unreal at home this year with comebacks and walkoff wins. its really been a fun yr.
