"Ultimate Survivor" will consist of 12 different 12-team leagues to start (144 players). Leg 1 Drafts will take place from Sunday, August 2nd through Saturday, August 15th.

These twelve leagues will all compete for the first five weeks of the NFL season. At the end of those five weeks, the top 4 teams in each league will advance to round two of the competition.

Between weeks 5 and 6 of the NFL season, the 48 people advancing will compete in 4 new 12-team leagues (Leg 2). These leagues will span 5 weeks as well and all be performance/PPR leagues (with different scoring rules though) and will be a Best Ball format. Draft dates/times as well as league rules for leg 2 leagues will be determined at a later time.

Leg 3 (Final 12 people) will draft after week 10 and before week 11. This league will span 6 weeks and will be a PPR league. Draft dates/times as well as league rules will be determined at a later time.

Here are the ways to get a message board entry into this contest:

Keep contributing quality posts in the Shark Pool/Assistant Coach. At large spots will be chosen by July 30th by staff to compete in this contest.
Earn a top 5 spot in one of the eight Caption this photo contests that will start on Monday, July 20th. Each day two new contests will be published.
Earn a top 10 spot in two freelance contests (that have not been defined yet). These contests will remain open for 5 days.Upon selection as an entrant into the contest, a person will sign up for a draft/time slot that fits their schedule.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 12 as follows:

1st prize: Lifetime subscription, $500 cash, Titlecraft Trophy, Automatic Entry into future Ultimate Survivors

2nd prize: 3 year subscription, $250 cash

3rd prize: 3 year subscription, $150 cash

4th prize: 3 year subscription, $100 cash

5th - 12th prizes: 1 year subscription and $25 cash

Both staff and message board members are eligible for these prizes.

Leg 1 Details:

These leagues will be a combination of Play-all and Survivor (ie no transactions). The Survivor leagues will "vote off" 2,1,2,1,2 in their five weeks (to get to 4 teams). Play-all will be cumulative record against the other teams.

Owners will not submit lineups. The best available lineup will be scored from your entire roster of players based on the starting requirements as defined.

Each league will have 12 members consisting of staff and message board members. No league will have more than 3 staff. We expect there will be approximately 24-30 staff in this contest.

The following will apply to all drafts:

- Drafts will be conducted on MyFantasyLeague.com.

- Drafts will be 22 rounds

- Draft position will be random

- There are no positional restrictions during the draft.

The leagues draft days/times will be as follows:

(Note: We will keep adding staff until we have them all slotted into leagues. Most leagues will contain 2 staff)

Tiebreakers

In Play-all Leagues:

First tiebreaker is most points scored in all 5 weeks combined

Second tiebreaker is most points scored in Week 5

Third tiebreaker is most points scored in Week 4

Fourth tiebreaker is most points scored in Week 3

Fifth tiebreaker is most points scored in Week 2

Sixth tiebreaker is most points scored in Week 1

In Survivor Leagues:

First tiebreaker is Play-all record

Second tiebreaker is most points scored in all 5 weeks combined

Third tiebreaker is most points scored in Week 4

Fourth tiebreaker is most points scored in Week 3

Fifth tiebreaker is most points scored in Week 2

Sixth tiebreaker is most points scored in Week 1

You basically will compete in the contests. Then there will also be a place where you can state your case on why you should be in this thing (It will be a different thread).

Since I don't know if you ever venture in the FFA, and from the sound of it you don't, you should know it's a tribute to a long time poster who recently passed away.

Shoot, 4 pt.pass td, 6 pt. pass td, survivor or best ball I don't care, just gimme a shot. I'd take 2 pt. pass td and make it work someway.

Is this simply a semi-random thing where good posts are noticed by the off chance that a staff member sees them, or is there something less random happening?
 
I played in this last year and got my ### handed to me. The people that play in these leagues are no joke. If you want to play you've gotta leave you're ego at the door.

Most amazing thing about that final league to me was that the two highest scoring players by far were DeAngelo Williams and Matt Cassell and one guy had both on his team but finished 5th. Just amazing how important depth was last year.

 
I'd like to state my case for being chosen for one of these leagues -- I suck at fantasy football.

I can submit several rosters for your perusal, but trust me -- if picked, one of you lucky staffers will have a team guaranteed to flame out spectacularly as soon as the rules allow.

I've competed for several Years now in almost every one of the High Stakes Nationals, as well as some local (MD) High Stakes Leagues for years. Been doing this FF thing since 1993.

Along the way, from '93 until 2006, I ran a local High Stakes League of my own, which was sort of a 'test kitchen' for many an innovative rule change involving Scoring Systems, Lineup Options, Draft Styles, Free Agency/Trading, General League Mechanics, etc, etc...pretty much thought I'd seen it all until this Contest.

I've fared pretty well over several Seasons, won a couple of BIG pots along the way, but I've have to say that I'm more proud of winning this Contest more than anything I've ever done in FF.

Not only competing, and outlasting, a group of Owners with a CONSIDERABLE amount of acumen, but through 3 ReDrafts? I had Teams going in 8 High Stakes Leagues last year, and as the Season wore on, and I worked my way through these brackets, I found my mind on this Contest more than any of those...

...and to top it all off, David, Joe and Clayton were very timely with the PayOut, and it was an overwhelmingly HUGE Treasure Trove of a Prize Package (the Free Lifetime Subscription alone would have made me happy, never mind the Cash, and Merchandise)...

...and that Trophy...I really don't know what to do with it - it's HUGE!!! Kinda like a Giant Football Phallus!!!

I've never heard of a 'Free Entry' Contest with that great of a Package being offered to the Winner.

In any case, everyone and anyone should try and enter this thing. If you're lucky enough to get in, I'm pretty sure it will be one of the most fun, exciting and challenging FF Contest you've ever been a part of...and for free, to boot!

It was a blast to make it to the finals last year and finish 3rd...like nittanylion I found myself paying more attention to this league than my money leagues. I like the renesauz idea of all of last year's finalists getting an automatic entry....at least the top 3 anyway :shiny:

You might be right, ConstruxBoy, but I'm very used to this site always being on top of things. It is very strange to not have heard a thing for 4-5 days from FBG on this.

Well, I wasn't necessarily meaning it as an excuse. But I do think that the better customer service thing to do, if you will, is get out content that is meant/needed for the whole site and all customers than worry about who was funny enough. Just my opinion of course. I'm sure they'd rather do both.
