Official VY to be a top 7 QB this year (1 Viewer)

Madden Curse is in effect. Maybe Tennessee Titans are immune. Maybe not. Eddie George had his best season when he was on the cover. Vince Young might be good. He might be very good but I think I'll let somebody else tempt fate this season.

The fact that he has probably the worst supporting cast in the the NFL doesn't help his case either.

The receivers are mainly inexperienced, but Brandon Jones was effective last year, and the addition of Moulds will help. It's not like Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade are game-changers that make plays for the QB. They are steady, but Courtney Roby or Roydell Williams could easily end up just as steady if given the chance.Losing Henry hurts, no doubt about it. Probably the biggest loss. The one thing that everyone seems to overlook about Young's situation is that he has at worst, an average line, and one that has a lot of continuity carrying over from last year. I would argue that the offensive line part of VY's outlook is actually above average. Also, let's remember that in VY's nat'l championship season, he didn't have Cedric Benson or Roy Williams, he was surrounded by a similiarly underwhelming cast...

can't put him ahead of Peyton, Palmer, Brees, Bulger, Brady, and Kitna

the competition is him, Cutler, Ben, Romo and McNabb for #7

I'd take McNabb ahead of VY this year (PPG), and I won't be surprisd to see Romo and Ben ahead as well

so I'm going to stay off the #7 train, but it will be fun to watch from the sideline.

"Top 10" - I would buy a ticket.

Well, since the difference between the #7 QB and the #15 QB is a couple TDs and a few more passing yards, sure he could be #7. Will he be? I doubt it. I like Kitna, Romo and McNabb better. But since I'm in a dynasty league, I may have to take him early just for upside alone. But the man has a walnut for a brain. Vick has shown you can't just be a physical freak and be a star QB in this league. You need to have the mental stability too.Has there ever been a "slow" QB to be a star in the NFL?

The ways things are looking in Eagles camp if McNabb stays healthy he's gonna be top 5 easy, likely top 3.ETA: And I think Young lands right around the 7-9 overall spot, so I guess I got one foot on board this train.

:lmao: You're not hiring a brain surgeon. You're drafting a QB. The man is football smart, I don't care what some test says.

I don't consider drafting players on the cover of madden, been burned twice and it's never going to happen again. If LT was on the cover this year I would not pick him if I had the #1 pick in the draft. Period.

The teams that drafted Michael Huff, Justin Blalock, Michael Griffin, Aaron Ross, Tim Crowder, Cedric Griffin might disagree with that statement. All of those guys were 1st or 2nd round picks the last 2 years.

I was addressing the lack of weapons at WR and RB. The defense was outstanding, especially in the secondary and the offensive line was rock solid, but there were no pro quality playmakers at WR/RB/TE - except maybe Ramonce Taylor.

I would not be surpriseed to see him throw 15-18 TDs this year...about 1.0 per game add 5-6 rushing TDs and you will have top 7

The train starts it's trip in about 4 hrs!!!! This thread will be bumped weekly

Call me crazy, but I think this actually raises his value.
You're crazy, but I think that second voice in your head already told you that. He is probably the best player on his team, and 1 on 11 never seems to work out very well. To be a fantasy star, which he has the potential to be, he's gonna need at least some adequate receivers and a solid running game.

picked him in R8 last night....right after I got Kitna in the 7th.

I chose Romo over him in a draft I got shanghi'd into yesterday evening only because of his better supporting cast. I wouldn't be shocked to see Young finish higher, but I wasn't in the mood to take chances at that point (Palmer, Manning, Brees, Bulger, Brady, Kitna, Leinart (?), Rotlisberger were gone).
