I see another 12 wins or possibly more. Jayden is saying and doing everything you'd hope he would do coming into year 2. We greatly improved the 0-line, and we have the best WR group we've had in recent memory. While I wish our defense was better, I think this offense is dynamic enough to help win a LOT of games again this year. We should have a better kicker too which never hurts.10-7 or 11-6, even though they'll be a better team than last year.
And everyone here knows I'm a pessimist about team prospects every year. I get vertigo when I predict anything over .500. But I'll stick with this.10-7 or 11-6, even though they'll be a better team than last year.
Yes but will we have 4 better kickers? We should have a better kicker too which never hurts.
And for good reason, we were all Dan Snyderized for the last 2 decades....but thank God his reign of terror is over FOREVER!!!And everyone here knows I'm a pessimist about team prospects every year. They also won - what? - 5 games on their last drive in 2024. I think they were 5-0 in those types of games. That's hard to replicate. Maybe they can, though, or they blow more teams out in 2025.I see another 12 wins or possibly more. Jayden is saying and doing everything you'd hope he would do coming into year 2. Yeah, they had some "luck" things go their way last year. Like you said, they pulled out a bunch of games at the very end. They were also insanely good on 4th downs. And, I think they were pretty healthy. Are those things sustainable? Can they repeat those? They also won - what? - 5 games on their last drive in 2024. I think they were 5-0 in those types of games. I agree with fatness that they are a better team now and could win less games. They are heading the right way, though, and you guys should be excited.
They were something ridiculous like 80% on 4th downs, right? Having a human cheat code at QB helps a lot. The team I follow has one of those, too, and I want them to go for every 4th-and-5 or less. Of course, my job's not on the line if they don't make itYeah, they had some "luck" things go their way last year. Like you said, they pulled out a bunch of games at the very end. Win-Win on this one.The Eagles declined Jahan Dotson's 5th year option, lol. That was a good trade for us.
The move is not a surprise given Dotson’s lack of production last season in his first season with the Eagles. The team’s No. 3 receiver, who had 19 catches for 216 yards in 2024, would have received a fully guaranteed $16.8 million. He now is scheduled for free agency in 2026.
The Eagles acquired Dotson and a 2025 fifth-round pick from the Commanders for a 2025 third-round pick and two 2025 seventh-round picks. Washington used the third-rounder and one of the seventh-rounders in the trade with the Texans to acquire left tackle Laremy Tunsil this offseason.![]()

I do think its sad how far Dotson has fallen. He really was great his rookie year when he was healthy. I thought he was a budding star. Ooops.Win-Win on this one.The Eagles declined Jahan Dotson's 5th year option, lol. That was a good trade for us.

I hear ya there. He didn't do much for us last year, but a 3rd round pick just for that one catch in the Super Bowl to get that first score was worth it. We just do not throw to our slot WRs. While he hasn't lived up to the 1st round billing, I still think he will stick around the league for at least 3-4 more years. Sometimes systems/players take a while to find each other.I do think its sad how far Dotson has fallen. He really was great his rookie year when he was healthy. I thought he was a budding star. For what he means to the this organization on and off the field, I hope they break the bank signing him to a long term deal.McLaurin wasn't at workouts on Wednesday. His agent has just started negotiating a contract extension, but I don't know if the 2 are related. I'm guessing he'll want to be making more than Deebo.

Report: Terry McLaurin not at team's offseason workouts Wednesday
Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin did not participate in the team's voluntary offseason program Wednesday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.www.nbcsports.com
I agree with some of what you said and disagree with some.Mayhaps the brakes need to be pumped on Jayden Daniels and the success of the "Commanders" in 2025. Most rookie QBs experience a rather significant sophomore slump. Unless their running game picks up the slack, I could see a rather mediocre season. Their D Line looks good on paper, but the secondary looks questionable. What about Pass rushers? And we can only assume there will be some sort of significant injury somewhere. They were too lucky last year in that area.
Washington could have new starters at three positions this season, and four if you include a temporary fill-in for injured right guard Sam Cosmi. And Cosmi would be the only one still starting from the 2023 season. The Commanders traded for Tunsil, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, and drafted tackle Josh Conerly Jr. with the 29th overall pick in the draft last month. This will allow them to move Brandon Coleman, a third-round pick in 2024 who started 15 of their 20 games at left tackle, to guard -- a position multiple scouts and analysts said was a better fit for him coming out of college. These were key moves considering the pass rushers they'll face in the NFC East.
“[Y]ou can see the comfort level was there this year,” Kingsbury said in his press conference, via transcript from the team. “I mean, just watching him move around, he’s not thinking as much, he’s playing fast, and letting his natural gifts kind of take over, and that’s what we want to see. So, I expect him to take a big jump.”
Kingsbury sees Daniels as a self-motivated player and as such, didn’t necessarily need the quarterback to work on something specific in the offseason. “He works extremely hard,” Kingsbury said. “I mean, that’s all he kind of thinks about is how he can get better and watches a ton of film, watches a ton of football overall. And so, that organically really takes care of itself in a way when you have a guy who wants to be that great. He is very highly motivated to be as good as he can be, and that’s always exciting for the organization.”
Plus, it helps that Daniels is staying in the same offense with the same play-caller that he had as a rookie. “Yeah, it’s huge,” Kingsbury said of that factor. “eing able to take the ownership of it and understand it inside and out, where now you’re correcting people, you don’t even need the coaches. And he’s kind of getting to that point.”
Trey Amos
There's no telling at this point just how many snaps the second-round pick will get as a rookie or where he will land on depth chart, but Amos made the most of his snaps in seven-on-seven drills. Amos, who the Commanders considered taking with their first-round pick, held his own against several of the team's veterans. In one of his more impressive plays, he managed to stay upright after his feet got tangled with Michael Gallup and got under a tipped pass for an interception on the second play of the drill. He nearly got a second one later in the day while working against Luke McCaffrey and kept up with Deebo Samuel when lined up against him.
Mike Sainristil
It probably isn't a surprise that Sainristil, who emerged as one of Washington's best defenders, had a strong practice, but the former Michigan corner kept making plays throughout the afternoon. Sainristil's quickness, cover skills and knowledge of the defensive scheme were on display during seven-on-seven drills. He routinely put himself in position to make plays and had multiple batted-down passes on the day. One play, which featured Sainristil matched up against Jaylin Lane, saw him reach out at the last second and swat the ball to the ground for an incompletion.
Jayden Daniels
Daniels didn't have many eye-catching moments during Wednesday's practice. He was as comfortable and collected as ever, leading the offense during drills and dishing out the ball to his receivers with accuracy and poise. Daniels, who appears slightly more muscular, has clearly been putting in the work to stay on top of his game this offseason, and that deserves some credit. "I gotta go out there and prove myself each and every day, no matter if it was last season, this season, 10, 20 years down the road. You have to prove yourself each and every season," Daniels said. By all accounts, Daniels has had an excellent offseason and earned some praise from his teammates and coaches for it. "He's...as focused and relentless as you could be about getting better," said head coach Dan Quinn.
The Pro Football Writers of America has named the Commanders public relations staff as the winner of the 2025 Pete Rozelle Award. The Commanders PR staff, the 36th Rozelle Award winner, earned the award for the first time in franchise history. The other 2025 finalists for the Rozelle Award were the Broncos, Lions and Vikings. The Rozelle Award is given to the NFL club public relations staff that consistently strives for excellence in its dealings and relationships with the media.
Richie Petitbon and Jeff Stoutland were named the 2025 Paul “Dr. Z” Zimmerman Award winners, the Pro Football Writers of America announced Tuesday. The Dr. Z Award is given for lifetime achievement as an assistant coach in the NFL. The award is named for Zimmerman, who covered the NFL for 29 years as Sports Illustrated’s lead pro football writer. Petitbon is retired, while Stoutland currently serves as the Eagles run game coordinator/offensive line coach. They are the 26th and 27th recipients of the Dr. Z Award, which was instituted by the PFWA in 2014.
They'll work it out. This is SOP for these situations. Washington's FO knows what he means to that town and I think McLaurin wants to stay. A lot of this is media-driven panic.McLaurin sitting out mandatory minicamp over contract issues.
I hope the team realizes how dependent they are on him, and don't forget he's always played hard and well through some crappy team years.
I think McLaurin is going to want $30 million/year, and will probably get it. Look how he did last year, the first time he had a real QB.
Ben Standig from The Athletic.
I think he's got 4 very good years or more left in him before he starts to decline. Last year was the first one where QB play didn't hold him back. Gimme more. He's also turning 30. How many more years do you think he has? There aren't many WRs in their 30s who hit 1000 yards receiving. Letting McLaurin walk and spending the money on a guy like Jameson Williams might be the better move long-term at the position.

I've drafted him with one of the last picks in most of my dynasty rookie drafts and got him off waivers after the draft in several leagues as well. Just looked own him in 9 of my 15 leagues. I honestly haven't read a ton about him during camp but his speed is legit and Washington doesn't really have a bunch of proven WRs outside of Terry and Deebo so figured he's well worth the late pick or waiver bucks. I mean, Jayden Daniels is his QB, what's not to likeWhat are Commanders fan thoughts on Jaylin Lane? He’s been a free waiver pickup in my leagues.
