I definitely think this has been a better season. And I thought Season 1 was incredible. This is outstanding television.

 
So still no proof that Emily wasn't a host. Just because she had the card doesn't mean anything. I'm surprised he didn't look for more proof.

I bet all of the hosts are also backed up in the thing they're going to next episode.

At least I hope so, because I want that smoke show who blew up the Cradle back for next season.

I was pretty much in the same state of mind that you were and was on the verge of quitting. I had to plow through 3 this weekend to get caught up.  

Thought the back to back samurai episodes were by far the worst of the season so if you can get through those, the finishing line is in sight.  It gets a little better.

That being said, there is something deep down I don't like about this show.  It's a lot of work for a payoff and the ultimate payoff is still questionable.  I also invest a lot of time in watching videos about each episode to clear some things up.  Some of these videos have to be made by the creators of the show.  All in all, I spend more time on it than I would like.

Could very well be the last season for me.  Finale better be "Through the Looking Glass" good

 
Such a damn good show.  Great TV.  As other have mentioned, this past weeks episode was a stand out.  So good.  

 
Pretty flabbergasted right now, and not quite sure which side is up.  It was an absolutely captivating episode to watch.  Wherever (whenever) the #### I am.

 
Anyone who claims they understand anything about this show is completely full of it.

Just seems like they're more concerned about ####### with the audience than telling anything resembling a coherent or interesting story.

I honestly have no idea how this thing got green-lit for another season. I dont know a single person in real life that watches it and the budget must be nuts. It obviously dont have anything close to the CGI needs of Game of Thrones (I imagine most of it goes to set building) but it probably has 1/100th of the viewership (if that)

And I'm still trying to figure out how the hosts ever got western-style guns that were capable of killing humans. Combine with the fact that the Delos emergency response team kept getting owned in fight after fight (despite wearing body armor and having automatic weapons. How about wearing some helmets boys?) and the whole thing was pretty cringe worthy. I get that its a science fiction show, but its all just so absurd on every level. .

Not really sure what to say about that. My immediate reaction is that I wasn't really happy with it when it was over.

I'd say I understand probably 90% of what is going on. There are some nuances that I didn't follow and there is one thing that really confused me but I'll save that for a re-watch. I also have plenty of friends that watch it and we talk about it every week.

Ford disabled the security feature that prevented hosts from shooting humans.

 
Bernard killed Delores  and then brought her back as Hale to kill Hale and the rest of the Delos team. Android Hale then sent everyones code to a new home that Ford had given to Delores only. Hale then left and went to Arnold's home in the real world where there was a copy machine to create androids. She then recreated her original form and a copy of Bernard.

What I didn't get was how are the real life Bernard, Hale and Delores going to join the virtual world survivors? And then you have the God-Satan relationship of Delores and Bernard. 

And the man in black was a Droid all along. No idea whether he killed his actual daughter or a droid.  Which brings up the point of what's the point of having the man in black at all?

Oh so the after credit scene with the man in black was "far, far in the future" according to one of the writers.

Which means the man in black in Westworld was real.

There was an after credit scene?  Since when did we start doing that with tv?  

So I thought I was following along until the scene where Bernard comes out of the Forge and Elsie was there with Charlotte. Totally not sure which timeline was what after seeing that. 

 
I won't watch a S3 if there is one. I hope there isn't. Cool show, the timeline jumping became gratuitous, the new tech every episode because transparent. I know some people who are slowly catching up (still finishing S1). I'm letting them know finish S1 and quit.

 
Man some of you all are overwhelmingly negative about things. I thought it was good, not great and look forward to another season. My main complaint was how long last night was.

An hour and a half is a movie. Too much of a commitment for one episode. Game of Thrones is doing that for all their final episodes. Don’t know why they just don’t make it 8 or 9 shows instead of 6. :shrug:

I enjoyed season 2 even if I didn't think the finale was great. I'll definitely be back for S3.

I think it was a little rushed at the end with so much coming together at once.

OK, re-watched this part and am still confused. When Strand, Charlotte and Bernard first enter The Forge, you can clearly see another Bernard watching them enter, much like we have seen Bernard have flashbacks this season. But how is that possible if that scene is the most current of the storyline?

 
I'd give it a B+.

Was not a fan of the Matrix Architect moment when they got into the Forge and William's brother in law was the "guy in charge."  But my trepidation was tempered quickly as they got to the James Delos foundation moment.  It makes perfect sense for Ford to use him as the grand control as one final punch to the guy of James and William.

The end credits scene was amazing to me.

That was exactly what I said that scene reminded me of. It didn't work in that movie and didn't work here.

Seemingly very quickly after Charlotte shot Elsie. He had Doloros' memory ball on him after swapping it out and planting the "new world" hosts in. Although Ford did say "I have already begun" which could imply the actual body production had begun earlier by Bernard. I don't think the show ever said how long it took to create a host body. It seemed kind of slow going.

 
Enjoyed this a lot. Lots to unpack and I love that about this show. My only quibble is that I don't want to see the show run into the habit of always bringing back dead characters. I liked how they did it with Ford and it was a great twist with Dolores but as much as I like Maeve don't bring her back in Season 3 (which certainly was implied). She sacrificed herself for her "daughter" so let her death carry that meaning forward. 

As others said the Stubbs twist was also really well done. 

Looks like Season 3 may have a lot/most/all? set away from the park. That should be interesting. 

Overall a strong finale and the last two episodes were really well done after the plodding and unnecessary Ghost Nation episode.

Oh and Tessa Thompson  :wub:

Maeve will be back.  She downloaded herself into her daughter.
