The Midnight Stalker
Can it get any lower? If I had it my way we are leaving NYC without the three stooges- Uribe, Jose and Kenny Boy.
Ozzie ball never existed!!!! They were 5th in all of baseball with 200 HR's in 05.How is that small ball?Yes- put me in the camp of guys that did not want to see him go. We had enough juice in the lineup and Rowand was a young player that was coming around in 2005. We have half the strength (that brought us a WS) up the middle on the Phils. It is what it is but it sucks big time. That boy is tearing it up this year and is no slounch in center field. What ever happend to Ozzie ball? The fact that small ball was the key to the offense in the 2005 season gave Kenny Boy the idea to start to break that up? I think that I heard Ozzie cry about how the team was a "softball" team last year. This makes no sense. The old saying"if it isn't broke- don't fix it". The Phils are surging and Rowand is a huge part of this. We blow right now- maybe it will be better next year. I like to say that the big mouths on the radio here can go on and on about how this guy is overrated but they are wrong. I would take him in center field right now but maybe we can get him back next year? Who knows- are we rebuilding? In keeping with his consistent meddlings on the club- Kenny Boy once again had the stroke of genius to send Tad packing for an order of French fries and a single A pitcher. The thing I always look at is how a player picks his game up once he moves to another team (a contending team at that). This tells me either the player was just dialing it in on the lousy team and/or the lousy team was just a bad place to be. Tad looks like a different player on the Phils. He looks like the guy we had in 2005. It is still early but his game is picking up. We got the wrong guy off the team. Uribe is the stiff that must go but we had this young stud in the minors that was waiting to take over second base. So we shipped off a good player so we could take a look at a good young player. OK- that's cool.At the time you would have rather kept Rowand then acquire Thome?Glad we let Rowand and Tad go to the Phills. Another great Kenny boy.....
Ozzie ball in 2005 was get on get em over and get em in. This is what made the WS Sox world champs. We left that style of play with the trade of Rowand to Thome. This brought in the softball era of 2006 where the HR returned. Understand?Ozzie ball never existed!!!! Who are you? Johhny Come lately? ESPN down on those Dye trade talks? MLB down? And here you are checking up on things a day after the deadline passes? What else do you want us to say after this sorry ### season? Maybe we are going to toast the team that looks like the pathetic post you threw up here? Whippeeee I am so happy that we still have Dye. OK I am guessing you have a team in the race. Which one is it?Wow, I checked into this thread to see what the Sox fans had to say about Dye staying put and instead I read a page and a half of posts from a pissy sissy :i:fight.I guess theChiSox fans have something in common with their team. It's all coming apart.Sorry for interrupting, come out swinging at the sound of the bell.

Ozzie Ball was a myth? Nothing more than good marketing? Ozzie ball brought one of the most dominating teams in recent memory. It was always mash mash and mash. They won when they went out and put players in there that set the table and if you think that guys like Pods and Tad were not the keys to the offense that year you can have at it. Konerko and Dye were paid to pump the ball out but who did they drive in? How many one run games did the club win that year? You think they were winning those 1 run games by hitting HRs? How soon Sox fans forget the importance of Ozzie Ball. It was an attitude on the team to do the little things to get them on and get them over- bunt, sacrifice, hit and run and steal bases- play solid defense and get the great pitching. Hit HRs as well and this was compliments of the top of the order setting the table and putting defenses and opposing pitchers on their heels. Here is a nice exchange:YES MYTH!!!!!They won with solid pitching and good defense......not Ozzie ball.Ozzie Ball was a myth? Willie Harris greeted Brad Lidge with a leadoff single in the eighth. Scott Podsednik bunted him to second. Dye bounced a single up the middle to score him...
This is what brought the hardware home. Another 1 run win in game 4 as the best that the NL Central offered was swept in the WS.....
Without this formula it would have been 2000 playoffs all over again. They did not play the Go Go White Sox every damn game for no reason and I will tell you that your Cubs will sink faster than Limpy boy's ego if they cannot play this style of baseball. It all came together that year- pitching, clutch hitting and defense but without Ozzie Ball it was not going to be. It is there for the history- Ozzie Ball brought us to 35-19 in one-run games and that is just amazing but some soon forget....

You are so grade A full of ####
You never sent this to me off the board stalker? Looks like your member number to me. So you can jump me off the board all you want. You can tell me that A-Rod is a loser. You can defend Kenny Boy all you want. You can even claim that I am a racist because I call him Kenny Boy. You can tell me that I listen to the radio but the bottom line here is you bring very little to any discussion. You can hit and run me all you want but I will run you down fast as anyone that thinks that A-Rod is a loser is certainly destined to take a beating. Ohhhh I dare not go out on a limb to suggest that the bullpen is the reason why we blow. They just proved their worth last night in the Bronx. Should be more of the same for the rest of the year. I can gaurante you two things- they will suck bad and I will beat that team up over and over until they get it right. I will also watch the rest of the midwest teams play ball until the end of the year as I enjoy good solid baseball. Go midwest baseball!
No Power at the plate? Why that is Jermaine Dye there folks. Ohhh he was a masher two hours ago that year but now he is "no power at the plate". And he hits a single. Puts the ball in play and they wipe out 88 years of futility. Ozzie ball = smart baseball. Fundamentals. An attitude. Where was the HR from the guy that was a masher but now he is "no power at the plate"? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.......Any team would have done that? Then how come the Astros did not do it? How come the 2007 Chicago WS cannot do it.LOOK AT ME I FOUND A PLAY THAT DEFENDS MY POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Look, that's not Ozzie ball, that's smart baseball.
Ozzie ball is/was a myth, and nothing more than good marketing.
Understand?
Get them on, move them over>>>>>>>LOL
It was more like, get them on, and hit a 3 run HR....like it's always been.
Any team would have done that. You just seem to think that White Sox marketing invented the concept and gave it a catchy name and that's where you show you baseball ignorance.
I sound like a broken record? Stick to baseball Limp one. This is the 2007 Chicago WS thread. Not much to do here but moan about a horrible season and talk about how to fix things. I don't retain anything. It is all right here loud one. You keep telling me things that make very little sense. PM system? When I get an e-mail to my personal mailbox and it is some guy on a football board telling me that I am full of #### over a baseball team that sucks- well that to me is just pathetic. People PM me to get info on the QT not to insult me because they are getting blasted in a thread. Some people crave a beating and make themselves look silly......You sound like a ####### broken record and I'm the one that brings nothing to the discussion? From the looks of it, you've retained a lot of information that I've provided and its a damn shame the none of it sticks. Would you like me to look into getting a podcast so you can listen to what I have to say? Then, maybe, it wil seep in.Disco Dem, Jul 18 2007, 12:52 PMSending you messages off of this board? What the hell are you talking about? And if you think that your summary of points made by me is accurate, you're reading comprehension skills suck. I guess that's why you depend on the radio so much.Really is this why you keep sending me messages off this board to attack me stalker? I beat you silly last week and I will do it again all day any day. Bring it on chump. A-Rod the loser? Kenny Williams the great GM? Going out on a limb to tell people the bullpen is not his fault when he even admits it? Now your stance is I am a fool for listening to what the radio says? I guees you can prove this because YOU LISTEN TO THE RADIO? Stay hot kid....Power Monster, once again, showing himself to be a fool that believes everything he's told on the radio. Now it's even seeped into what he hears on the commercials
Ozzie ball, grinder rules

Oh, and here's a clue. The PM system is part of the board.
HTH
Look, that's not Ozzie ball, that's smart baseball. Late game, close score, no power at the plate and a runner on with nobody out.Looks quite clear to me. Another FBG desperation move- clamoring to get some sort of props or attention from others here. What- you need validation from others on a football web page? Sad.... ohhhh gee I guess that is why you sent me a PM today telling me that you were not going to rate me even one star. Ohhhhh you heart breaker. You just crushed my heart big boy.........I'd like to take this moment to thank Power Monster for proving my point about his reading comp skills being teh suck.
Sad.... ohhhh gee I guess that is why you sent me a PM today telling me that you were not going to rate me even one star.
WTF does this mean?Look, the only play that anyone would consder being Ozzie ball in this scenario is the bunt by Pods and that's what I was talking about in that post.Runner on, nobody out, no power at the plate.Look, that's not Ozzie ball, that's smart baseball. No one has rated him in his profile, so I refused to rate him one star because it would be an improvement on his current ranking.Sad.... ohhhh gee I guess that is why you sent me a PM today telling me that you were not going to rate me even one star.WTF does this mean?

Dude you have no point to prove and quit crying about a personal attack. Go see where all this started from. The team sucks. Get over it. Fans like me are going to rip them a new one until they get it right. Get over it. When they win again you will claim that you knew it all along and so will I. Who freaking cares......Look, the only play that anyone would consder being Ozzie ball in this scenario is the bunt by Pods and that's what I was talking about in that post.Runner on, nobody out, no power at the plate.Look, that's not Ozzie ball, that's smart baseball. Honest to god, you really think I was talking about the Dye AB? You can't make heads or tails out of that and come to a conclusion that it's the bunt? Of course you can't. IT'S NOT AURAL
Again, thanks for proving my point.
And trust me, what anyone in this place thinks of me matters none. But go ahead and take the internet 101 route on your personal attack. It shows that this whole thing, just like baseball, is over your head too.
I said considered. I did not actually say there was "Ozzie Ball", just using the term in hopes that you would understand what I was talking about.Instead, you proved my point, again.Look, the only play that anyone would consder being Ozzie ball in this scenario is the bunt by Pods and that's what I was talking about in that post.
I thought that Ozzie Ball was just a marketing tool? Regardless- even as you try to save face here- it was the Pods bunt that moved him to second and it was Everett that put him on third grounding out. Ozzie Ball pure and simple from two mashers and the leadoff hitter sacrificing.....
Well what ever you want to think Ozzie Ball or whatever nothing is going to save this mess. Being swept by the Yankees is just brutal, pitiful and a disgrace. Hope that the team can just avoid that one. Did Haegar get tossed last night?I said considered. I will be there to jam you as well so do not screw it up. Congrats on a solid season but there is still a long way to go....
Its the Yankees. I have a hard time believing that its brutal, pitiful and a disgrace to lose games to them. They're the highest paid team in baseball and have 7 recent all stars in their lineup going against a rookie starting pitcher with 15 games to his credit and Jose :( Contreras who had given up 800 runs in his last 5 outings. The only thing that is just brutal, pitiful and a disgrace is the fact that you typed this. And I'll have to guess that you heard they were swept on the radio since it hasn't happened yet. There's still game 3 of this series to be played today so your mis-informed ### has just proven itself to be a fool again.Well what ever you want to think Ozzie Ball or whatever nothing is going to save this mess. Another day of insults. No- getting outscored 24-4 in two games is not pathetic! Giving up 13 HRs in two games is not pathetic. I understand the genius of the great Limp-o-lama. Maybe if you weren't worried about rooting for midwest baseball you could actually pay attention to what's happening to the team you proclaim to be a fan of. Your constant misinformation and screwball theories in here are as bad as BGP's in the Lost thread after he missed 3 episodes.
Now go root for your other 6 midwest teams and let us real White Sox fans wallow here in the team's ineptness.

You can stop with the stalker stuff, its just another generic term that you couldn't think of yourself and decided to use because Cappy said it. When you get an original thought, let us know so we can mark the calendar.I'm not owned, simpleton. It's probably akin to a suicide bomber realizing after the explosion that the only thing waiting for him is a dirt nap and not 72 virgins, like his elders promised him, but at least I'm alive to tell about it.
