With the 15th pick of the 2007 draft the Pittsburgh Steelers select

Darrelle Revis - CB

The Steelers are unfortunately still too thin at CB despite Tomlin's building up of Ike Taylor in mini-camp. It is too much of a gamble to go into another season with so little depth at the position so I wouldn't be surprised if they draft a corner. If Revis is gone then another possibility is Leon Hall. The only other direction I see them going is grabbing Carriker but he will likely be off the board by then.

With the 32nd and final pick in the 1st round of the 2007 NFL draft, the Indianapolis Colts select:

Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Ohio State University

I don't think the defensive player they want in the 1st round, Jon Beason, will be there at #32. I don't think Justin Harrell will be there, either, and I'm not sure they think he'd fit their system. I think the 1st round caliber LBs are going to be picked before #32, and I don't think there will be a 1st round caliber DT available that they'd want. They'll pick a LB and a DT in round 3 or 4 (they'll have 5 picks in rounds 3 and 4, and 2 more in round 5 to fill needs).

CB has become a need, also, but I think they have faith in Kelvin Hayden and Marlin Jackson in those spots and will draft a couple of CBs in the middle rounds.

I think Gonzalez will be available at #32 unless the Chargers take him, and even though he may not quite be a 1st round talent, he's been impressive in the interview circuit, he can play the slot WR position and can pick up an offense quickly. I think he'd probably be the best fit of the non-CJ early round WRs for the Colts.

Dallas is a mystery this year. The beat writers + Gosselin have all been talking and mocking a wide receiver. Honestly, I don't care too much about this first pick if they are doing as advertised and sticking with their value board believing they can take best available players. In the past JJ and Parcells have both stuck their noses in the scouts business too much, and it appears JJ has learned his lesson.

So, my answer to the question is: In a breath of fresh air Dallas will pick the top player on their board regardless of position, for a change.

I have been saying this as well. It's nice to not feel like they have to take a particular position. Having said this I still would like either DL, OL, or DB.

Cowboys will go Defense, drafting one of the following: Anthony Spencer of Purdue or Meriweather of Miami.

:goodposting:

With the 6 pic the Redskins Trade with the Dolphins. The Dolphins draft Brady Quinn. Then with the 9th pick the Redskins draft Adam Carriker. However I'm not pissed at staying at 6 and selecting LaRon Landry

I see the Steelers trading down to address a few needs.

They will take anything except a QB and TE Link
Who's going to trade up to that spot? I think most teams this year want to trade down, but won't be able to.
It depends who slips down. There is always a player that slips, a top 10 player could be there at 15, but at a position the Steelers do not need.I see OLB, CB or OT in that order. Anything else I would be shocked.

I see OLB, DE or OL (Levi or Grubbs). I don't see CB in the first round as a good move or a need. I haven't lost faith in Taylor (yet) and McFadden has played well. Townsend has at least another year left in him. Hopefully Colclough isn't a lost cause, but it's not looking good for him as far as being a starter goes.

With the, eh, 31st pick in the 2007 NFL Draft the Chicago Bears select, Justin Blalock, guard, the University of Texas.

Okay, I will go out on a limb. Some how if Peterson is available after the 5th pick, the Packers will somehow wind up with Adrian Peterson.

Buffalo Bills select - Patrick Willis
With the 11th pick, 49ers select Patrick WillisWith the 20 something pick, 49ers select Robert Meachem OR Bowe....

Last year after the niners traded with denver to get 2 picks in the first round, I predicted they would select Vernon Davis and then Manny Lawson :lmao:

Hopefully I'm right about this year as well...

 except that I believe Colclough is a lost cause. we may pick up a few picks in exchange for a disenfranchised faneca.

PhillyMarty: Many mock drafts have Revis staying in Pgh. Do you see the Steelers taking a CB that high given their many greater needs?

Ed Bouchette: I don't see it because I think they have other needs but if they can't trade down and Revis is the overwhelming value there, they'll probably grab him. Tomlin's eyes lit up on Monday when talking about him.

I think the Steelers trade down a few picks (Jax) and select OT Joe Staley. He becomes the first NFL lineman to wear #22. Then the Steelers package Max Starks and a 3rd rounder to the Cardinals for their 2nd rounder where OLB Anthony Spencer falls into their laps.

rams will look at (if still on board)... okoye, carriker, anderson, revis, hall, branch... if so, i think highest rated player left at their spot will be...

1.13 - STL... carriker

At 1.31, the Bears select Ben Grubbs, Offensive Guard, Auburn.

If they trade Briggs and swap picks or acquire the Redkins 1.06 pick, then they will likely trade out and acquire more picks in later rounds. Then I think they go Defensive Tackle and Outside Linebacker with those picks. Probably Marcus Thomas and Quincy Black. :D

I'm making a switcheroo here. This was before I read that the Colts wanted LB Justin Durant. So, I'm going to say that this will be their pick if they stay at #32.I won't be around today or most of tomorrow, so I'll eat my crow on Sunday night if the Colts take a safety in round 1. :D

With the 8th pick in the draft -- after a trade with the Atlanta Falcons -- the Detroit Lions select Patrick Willis, University of Mississippi.

The Bucs trade #4 to Miami for #9 & #40. Miami selects Quinn & the Bucs select Akoye. Bucs trade up later to 1st round for DE or Safety they like. Hey, it could happen. :hot:

Pass coverage needs to be addressed or they could go WR with an aging WR corps. I am hoping for S Griffin or a burner like WR Ginn Jr, who I think would progress quickly under Glenn's tutelage, to compliment TO and really open up the offense for Romo.
