What about a guy like Buck O'Neil? He was a solid player in the Negro Leagues, but he was probably better known for being an ambassador for baseball in his later years of life.

Buck O'Neil should have been voted in when the Hall did the big Negro League induction a few years ago. I'm no Negro Leagues historian about his on-field record but his post-retirement work to keep the memories alive should have put him over the top. But he had a long life, lived to see a lot of changes and gained a lot more recognition than many members of the hall ever will.But Buck's contribution to the game wasn't as great as Flood's or Miller's.

probably a good idea for me. understand WAY more about WIS today than i did when draft first started. originally figured all those pitcher seasons were pretty much the same
