***OFFICIAL WIS XII DRAFT THREAD*** (2 Viewers)

I didn't want to start a pity thread over this, but I just got some terrible news.My sister-in-law might be dead. This afternoon, her and my brother were riding his motorcycle like they normally do. As they were driving down a country road near their home, they get t-boned by a guy backing out of his driveway. My brother is fine, but my SIL has some severe head trauma going on and she might not make the night. The word is that if she does make it, she'll have severe brain damage. She's one of the best people this world has to offer. She set my brother straight when his life was in a tailspin, and she just became a mother a couple years ago after years and years and years of trying. Please, if you can, thoughts and prayers for her tonight.
Sorry to hear this, gb.

Can someone give me the rundown on how you guys are playing SIM's without a full team and without joining a league? I've never played live and would love for someone to show me the ropes.

We're just doing exhibitions, but with the basis of our lineups and rotations intact, we can go through the motions.

I guess I should have been more specific. I don't even know how to setup a team to play exhibitions. I have bought a new team and is not in a league yet. What next?

1. Go to the draft center and fill your roster with the players you have.2. For the picks you havn't made, fill roster with garbage players that no one in their right mind would draft.3. When you sign up for the league, it'll let you sign up your drafted team.4. When you make future picks, you can exit the league, adjust your roster, and rejoin.

TRADE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Koya gives up Earl Averill 1931

Mr. P gives up Stu Miller 1952

100 innings of solid set up - whip pushed up a bit with walks, but 2.6 imo is not a death knell, especially when I cant allow contact at Fenway. Sub .200 OAV and all plus nujmbers (even walks) good to great.

Looking to deal 1958, 1953, or 1948 for a better pitching year. Some good hitting talent still available in these years.

I confirm.Looking at the years I have, I couldn't seem to settle on an OF that I liked that I wanted to add. Averill has done wonders for me in the past and he gives me a legit option at CF with his B-/B range and his near 1.000 OPS will be a big asset.

Pleasure trading with you, koya.

Updated Lines:

Batting Totals 5821 4969 253 984 91-90 581-707 18.4 .330 .423 .572 Without Averill

Pitching Totals 89-40-62 1,290 2.31 .201 0.96 6.99 2.12 0.61 966-293

With Cal Eldred and Stu Miller (200+ innings of modern sub 1 WHIPs and very nice plusses)

I could really use a lefty arm in a deal for one of my righties. Way too righty heavy.

REAL Trade Bait:

Matt Williams, 1995 Uber 2/3 of a season (can get about 400 PAs). .336/.399/.647 with B/A+ at 3B (127AVG+ / 159 SLG+)

I can't keep Joyce on the bench and Williams is a great OF, but even more valuable at 3B. SO.... If someone wants to trade me true Stud OF for Williams straight up, or include another player/year, let me know.

Also, I have some later years that may appeal to you. They don't fit my offensive needs and have some pitching options... would trade for a year that doesnt work for you:

1919

1944

1917

1907 (got via trade, its late, like after 4 other 1907s)

Update on my sis in law.

I hadn't heard anything all day until just a couple minutes ago. She's still hanging in there, and everyone seems to be getting more optimistic that she might pull through. She has bleeding on both sides of the brain, but today, I heard twice that "she's getting her color back".

They still doubt that she'll be the same mentally afterwards. At this point, no one knows for sure exactly what we're looking at if she ends up surviving.

Hopeful news at this point. How you holding up, how's your bro?

Doing fine here. I took the lack of news today as good news. Not sure about my brother. I can only assume that he's still a mess emotionally.

I traded away my 1950, I think to P/P.

BTW, I just LOVE the progress we're making this weekend. To those who love the draft to go as slow as molasses (you know who you are), this must be a dream come true.
