Hope my squad works out like you're thinking ... I think the second half of my draft sucked. Never really recovered from losing out on Bill Sweeney in the 10th round.

24.22 - Ruppert Jones, OF Padres

B/A+ defense and 90 for speed. Hits better than a pitcher with a 283/373/425, but hopefully won't be handling the stick much.

My team's been pretty middling in early sims, although its against some good teams. Hard to tell in preseason when testing players out, etc... always seem to be in close games, don't always seem to get over the hump.Oh, and #### babe ruth.

1554 might be pushing it in this format™. Hope no one lays an egg for you.
Not worried at all. I usually end up with just around and sometimes under 1500. When you include some mop up innings, not at all concerned.Could go pitcher with my last choice (have a decent one in mind), but likely will go another direction.

In fact, I doubt Ill need more than 1350 of them as real, usable innings.

Looks like I drafted way too many innings.
2000ish is probably about right. If you have enough PAs having more than that is fine, some pitching in this will probably be worse than expected.
I'd think a decent amount of everything will be worse than expected. But bringing in a later round crappy pitcher to save a failing early rounder will only go so far. I've never had a problem with 1450 or more innings, personally.

OK, these values are just for the first 8 rounds. I can finish them tomorrow if they are needed. Yeah, Babe Ruth is that good.Owner TotalTRE 399Jfranco 394Sparty 353SNC 350DougB 343ChemX 339Greco 336DoctorD 329Pump 328Eephus 309Rodg 299Brady 294Koya 283Moops 278Oso 277RNR 272Kraft 265TUP 263Hoos 252Arsenal 250Frosti 245Socal 239Larry 234Bogart 166

All the scrub/marginal players I took are bench hitters, outside Blyleven I think I have a pretty good staff. If one of my starters craps out, I have two possible replacements as well as middle inning innings eaters to fall back on. Also have four traditional relievers and Dave Righetti who might be relief.

And to keep the balance of life, my teams continue to suck.I guess back when I was single, barely employed and not nearly laid enough more abilities were devoted to this. And rocked. Now I'm married, drafting during meetings with VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE (they think Im typing notes. I hope) and can't keep up with my young wife on that last front as it is - maybe AR's wife has some friends for her. :coffee:

How'd you pop this up so fast?
I already have values for about 90% of the players picked in my spreadsheet. I just have to enter the owner for each player and then add them up.My rankings don't like Sisler or Gwynn or Shoeless Joe very much. I didn't take into account how well the player fits into their park, or their speed or anything like that. Just offense (OPS) and my eyeball ratings for defense, and just using ERC# and innings for pitchers with no consideration for HRs. It's crude to say the least.

Do you just have this in notepad so you can cut and paste?

oh. That makes sense (and is as good a system as any other to figure out divisions).

Actually, typing it up in a meeting with a potential tenant / JV partner for what could be the coolest Supermarket / Cafe / Boutique shops in the region.:coffee:Put THAT on your shirt, #####es.

i think i've built a different ranking model for each of these historical sims. still trying to figure out the right balance of offense vs. defense vs. speed.pretty sure the first model (HOVG?) started with OPS, though not even sure if i was using OPS# back then. Did a VBD calc by position, and then tried to add booster points for defense and speed ratings. But, in the end, i felt that model didn't put enough weight on defense.this time around, i started with a Salary/PA (or salary/IP) metric overall, and then attempted to do a VBD calc for each franchise. Added bonus points for position scarcity. It was a mess.so, still on that holy grail quest.

Rd 25 pick, in order (in case of snipage):

Fred Krandell, C Pads

Bill Fahey, C Pads

Terry Kennedy, C Pads

All PT (Pinch Throwers) and D Replacements.

I used to guess right. Now I guess poorly. That's my system.
