*** OFFICIAL WIS XVI Draft Thread *** (3 Viewers)

Was going to say I can't post my lineup yet because I haven't filled on position...then I saw Larry doesn't have a 2B or a 3B.
Gwynn is my everyday 3B...
Trying to lose?
from what I've read, 3B is considered to be between corner OF and CF as far as "difficulty" goes, which means that, at worst, Gwynn would go down a step at 3B in defense. So he'll be ~ a C/D defender. If he goes .370/.450/.510 I can live with that.

He won't, trust me

15.13- RHP Jeff Tesreau, New York Giants

After two years in the minors, Tesreau learned how to throw a spitball, which became his signature pitch. He started the second game of the 1912 season for the Giants. The New York Times wrote, "Tesreau has curves which bend like barrel hoops and speed like lightning. He's just the kind of a strong man McGraw has been looking for." In the 1912 World Series, Tesreau went 1–2 against Boston Red Sox ace Smoky Joe Wood.
Should give me 327 innings of meh. Also, a bit of a homer pick since he's not far from the area I grew up in in Missouri.Edit: typo

kevin saucier RP Tigerswalks too many guyssomeone pm next? on phone
Damn. Nice pick. He's the guy I was waiting on.
Saucier burned me big in one of these. Franco>It's interesting that you seem to forgive a pretty high walk rate as long as OAV is good/great. Don't these all time guys just force a lot of walks and kill a guy like Saucier's pitch count?
It depends on the park. And yes, a guy with an IP/G <1 and a lot of walks is definitely bad. Saucier has a slightly better IP/G.But walks, hits, HRs, of the 3, I would much prefer to give up walks.

Been eying Tesreau for a long time now as a long reliever/spot starter. Figured he'd be a good use of my Giants pick that I have no real clue what I want to do with.

Whew, if Franco likes it, then I must have done good. I was really leery about it since I was looking more at relief pitching, but my homerism kicked in when I saw him. I also had no idea what to do with the Giants. In fact, because of IP and Ojeda's tendency to get hit, probably looking at Tes as my 4th with Ojeda as spot/long.Edit: I also have had Tesreau in at least one past sim and I recall him doing an admirable job at munching innings.

A lot of holidays to celebrate today. National Pie Day, National Handwriting Day, and National Measure Your Feet Day. Clearly, so many holidays means everyone's too busy to make their picks or send in lists.

I'm firing a few minutes early because I'm walking out the door and we haven't had a pick in 2 hours.
