*** OFFICIAL WIS XVI Draft Thread *** (1 Viewer)

I think we need to finish the 24 rounds today/tonight, set divisions, set a time for the free-for-all tomorrow, and then everyone enter their team tomorrow evening. We'll have opening day before the weekend.

Hate to do this, but I'm busy and DrD can't use this player anyway because his teams are filled.

23.13- OF/1B Jeffrey Leonard, Houston Astros

Sparkling glove, some speed, and if he does have to swing a bat, ball may go far.

25.24 - Snuffy Stirnweiss - 2B - Yankees

Thanks for everyone letting me cut in line to finish up. If I grabbed someone that someone really wanted (doubtful), just let me know. We can work something out.
Because of his amazing D and pretty good bat, I have Snuffy ranked as a top 25 player overall. Nice grab in the last round.

Willie Ramsdell, P Cubs.Making jfrancos decision easier as 23 cubs now picked. He walks guys and will give up HRs, but .97 whip and .173 OAV Should be nice in my park.

This may be the nicest thing ever said about any of my picks in this stupid thing. Getting a little dusty.

Gary Templeton lowered my team OPS by 30 whole points with his 600 Pas, lol.I really don't need a backup SS with Appling and his 670 PAs but I figured I'd have one for a live double-switch.

You all are flying. Can we put the brakes on after the 23rd round (except Bogart) and save the 24th and 25th rounds for a free-for-all tomorrow?

Someone recommend me a good time for everyone ... is noon Eastern too early for the West Coast guys (9 am Pacific)? Maybe 2 pm Eastern?

Why would 24th be a FFA?

i don't see the need for brakes. as for the free-for-all, i have been making franchise picks based on which franchises were still left to be picked on either side of me in the draft order.

I agree that no brakes are needed, and not that it may matter, but round 24 should not be Free For All, as it's just one add'l (albeit minor) benefit for top draftees. Plus some may have made their last pick or two knowing that one or two teams on the other side of the curve are on deck. 25 we can do free for all if desired, not sure it much matters at this point.

My "mop-up with a chance" guy. Could also be useful if someone else really schmidts the bed.

23.11 (539): Royals SP Appier, Kevin

Why would 24th be a FFA?
We've done 24th round as a free-for-all a few times. More often, it's just been the 25th.I cango either way ... doesn't matter. If you all want to just draft straight through 25, that's fine.
I just assumed it would be 25.I'm not going to cry about it, but it would be kind of lame to have drafted on the back end of the draft (with all of the built-in disadvantage), and then have to surrender my 24th round pick and possibly let someone that needs an Angel get him instead because we went FFA a round early.
