OFFICIAL WIS XVIII THREAD: An Ode to Claude Hendrix (1 Viewer)

I always consider it a successful season if I don't lose 100 games. This does not look like a successful season.

Searching for players with that idea would be an absolute nightmare, but otherwise it could be fun.

Here's an idea for a future draft, sorta along the lines of HOVG... all time draft but you can only take players NOT selected this go around. No outliers, still a lot of talent.
Good with this idea, too.
Searching for players will be a #####.
Gotta have an Excel spreadsheet of the WIS player pool. Don't use the Draft Center exclusively.
Would be no different than if this draft went more rounds.

I'd prefer to do the wars version next for some change and then maybe the other players league

Strong of tough luck here for the last week or so. Bunch of one run losses. :-/

Feeling like Syracuse here

Everyone in my bullpen has at least 1 save.

1,2,5,5,5,5,11 are the # of saves they each have.

My full current bullpen and some starters, including folks no longer on my team - 10 guys have had saves.

Mickey Mantle coming to life nicely with 3 HRs so far, and Carlton Fisk has been really solid (finally) over the last 10-15 games. Over the mendoza line and on a prorated pace of about 65 XBHs.

AL wild-card race has four teams 3 games apart:

77-62 - moopsie
76-63 - Big Train and Gang
75-64 - Owed to Claude Hendrix
74-65 - Running Robots

Tightening up ...

77-63 - moopsie
77-63 - Big Train and Gang
76-64 - Owed to Claude Hendrix
75-65 - Running Robots

Has there ever been such a differential between home and away as Doug's team? Four games under .500 at home and 30 freakin games above .500 on the road.

Eephus's and jfranco's squads ain't far behind.

I thought my guys would rake at home with +2 to both left and right fields. Truthfully, if I had a little more stout of a bullpen, I'd probably be 10 games better at home.

With your lineup I'd definitely think that would grab a good amount of wins at home.

Weird season. Certainly more parity, especially in the large player pool leagues, than in years past.

BTW, Koya -- nice getback on the road sweep of my squad.
Yeah, that was unexpected (and fun). Only to lose 3 of 4 live to ARSEnal. <_<

It's interesting that my team's been pretty steady throughout the full year, trades and all. My lineup, objectively speaking at least, is certainly better than it was (well, it should be at least, though I let go some really good players that just weren't performing) and my starting pitching is stacked, but that hasn't really led to that many more wins, if at all.

Either way, need to finish strong as this #4 seed tries to pin down a playoff spot. (Which reminds me, we need different rankings... we guys who value pitching seem to get hit by the current valuation. Similar to last go around, although that time my team was jfRANKED somewhere in the middle as opposed to this one which was summilarily slammed.

Franco ranked me 2nd...we have seen how well that has worked. :kicksrock:

I think Franco used hitter only rankings, FWIW. I was first on his list, and my team definitely hits the best, but the pitching is horrendous.
