I went pitching for the first three rounds and have an offense suppressing home park, so I figure I'll need to have an offense that will be able to manufacture some runs. The Henderson season I'll probably use is also one of the rangier CF seasons available so that helps too.

This was my same thought process going pitching, pitching, Hamilton and a big vast ballpark.

I did the same thing, but realized how shallow SS and 3B were getting so I grabbed Appling, who gives me good enough defense with a very good offensive output. I had planned to grab Chipper as 3B has also went to hell quickly. When moops took him I quickly switched over to 1B, which wasn't that thin before, but there has been a run on them in the last 2 rounds.

I think defense is going to be a huge deal in this sim. With all the pre-1960's pitchers the K/9 rates are going to be lower than we are used to. This is going to result in a lot more balls in play, resulting in more opportunities for errors. At least that's the assumption I am working with. Now that I have my A range SS I don't mind sharing.
