OFFICIAL WIS XVIII THREAD: An Ode to Claude Hendrix (3 Viewers)

These all-timeys really tap out low inning starters like Schmidt though I think.
This leeg's gimmick makes it harder to stockpile uber elite reliever seasons
Troof.
Yeah, but if you grab a 400 IP guy, a 300 IP guy and add someone like Schmidt in as your 3rd starter you can go 1,2,3,1,2,1,3,1,2,1,3...and they hold up pretty well.
Sounds hard.

I was told there'd be no math.

i've had a bunch of the dead ball high inning guys and none have done well. i would rather better performance and maybe go 5 Man rotation.

Are we doing simlive divisions? I need lots of x games.
Yes. We'll do a live league and a non-live league. We can use franco rankings (if he's up for it) to seed each league 1-12 and divvy up the divisions accordingly.

break this down for me
Do you know what SIM Live is? It's the ability to play each pitch, adjust for PH, OF playing in, double play depth, put in relievers. Otherwise the SIM runs three games a day at prescribed times and you just look at the results (if you know this, my apologies).

As to the rankings, this group is more hungry for affirmation than Lisa Simpson with a brand new report card. As jfranco is considered the most knowledgeable SIM player of our group, people look to him to "grade" the teams and then we use those grades to try to ensure that one division is not stacked with great teams. It's something we've done with mixed results, but then again, it can't be much worse than just choosing random.

What's the deadline to sign up for live? And what do I have to do additional in order to play live?
Join the WIS league and play a lot of SimLive games.
So throughout the day someone will say "who wants to play live?" and I'll be able to join and watch it live? What if I have to leave in the middle of the game? Sorry, I know this would be clear if I ever played live. Also, aren't I joining the WIS league regardless?

1. That's kind of how it works. You can also wait in the lobby and, in the league, it'll tell us if you're on Live or not.

2. The computer takes over for you. It happens.

3. Yes, you're joining the WIS league, but not everyone plays SimLive a lot. Some prefer to just have the games automated.

i am beginning to understand now why no one ever plays live. not one these ####### nerds has any idea the ability even exists it seems.

I will be glad to do rankings again this time. Don't have any idea if they were accurate last time, except my team always rates well and then never wins.
