Anyone ever get a Dougb number? It's a little weird to me that someone has been in 15+ of these things has never wanted a text notification.

One of the drafts I was going to be in utah visiting family and this was before phones that had the internet so I gave him my number so he could text me. He called me every time I was up. I don't think Doug is much of a texter.

His weekly penis pics might say otherwise.

Why does Doug hate me?

I'd like to hear more about this. What did Doug B sound like? Could you tell he was wearing a :bowtie: ? Did he say things that you could tell would be bolded if he was typing them?

I feel like I must have screwed up my team somehow. I really don't know who to take next.
I feel like that's been my full draft.

Really not sure what to do with Allen especially. Have had him before as a 3B and he's done well... but the normalization for his 1B year in 1972, imo, should provide some really good results. Then again, still a good amount of depth at that position.

between positions and years and a very busy week last week with work, I've been on a semi tilt this go around.

My normalized stat view.

I actually feel a little better about my team after going on tilt to take McGwire and Sosa.

Of course, that will likely change since I don't pick again until 13.2 because I wanted the Steve Perry Special.

Speaking of feelings, I hate the FEELING of when you think one player will perform better, but the stats look so much better for the other player... its like, do I do what "feels" right (the nicer stats) or what you THINK will perform better.

:nerd: world problems.

1B Jim Thome/2000s
Thome was the guy I wanted to take when I took Pesky, although was going to go 1990s and play him at third. That will be one of those "did I make a right choice" moments for me as the season plays out.
I have all right-handed bats except Larry Walker, so I figured I could use a high slugging percentage guy at first base and Thome was still there. C+/D fielding seems ok at first base, I actually thought I was going to move Walker to 1B but now I can keep him in RF. Never had Thome before, expect lots of K's and lots of BB and bombs in homer friendly Ebbets field.

Something we should nail down now before it happens:

If someone selects a player that plays in multiple decades and intends to use a decade that they've already filled do we force them to use a year from the other decade (or shuffle a different player) or do we allow a repick?

Ex. Say you took Rickey Henderson and you're out of 80s seasons, can you repick or you have to go 90s or change another player on your roster?

No repick, you'll have to move years around on players already taken IMO.

Not 100% sure I understand, but I'll take a shot. You should not have to re-pick anyone. Let's say I have Gossage and Richard already picked and plan to use both in the 80s.

Now I want to pick Wally Backman, and use him in the 80s. I can just move Gossage or Richard to the 70s. I'm not locked into using Goose and JR in the 80s.

Basically, as long as there is *A* conceivable way to make your roster work, then the pick is legal.

I agree with this, but I want it noted before it happens.

And one more - if we trade before the league starts up can we move the players' decade? Or is that done at the end of the draft?
Id think you need to be in compliance by start of season so switch as you wish until the season begins.
In other words, I can't trade one of my 1900-1909 spots for a 1990-99 spot? I still have to have 2 of each plus a fed at the end of the draft. Right?

Id think you need to be "compliant" at all times. So, by end of draft you have to have all slots filled. If you make a trade, you can switch a current player to another decade, so long a after the trade you are still in compliance.

Right, so you can make any trades as you want as long as your roster still follows the decade rules by the start of the sim.

This. All I'm going to be checking for when we get this thing started is that you're in compliance with the roster format of 2 from each decade and 1 federal leaguer. How you get there through the draft is your own journey. If, for some reason, someone has an invalid roster at the end of the draft, we'll make them drop the last player drafted that puts the roster out of alignment (ie, the third player drafted for the same decade) and fill it with an undrafted player from the correct decade.
