That's what I thought, too.I stand corrected. I thought we were using the ESPN fantasy game positions. That makes Ronaldo a striker. So that is final? The official player list the ESPN list, like the following. This, for example, is Spain's official listing:
linkthat's the method I suggested a few days ago after taking a look through a handful of other websites, and there were no other suggestions....so yes, I guess that's final....

This is the post that set the rule. I apologize for not including it in the official rules post. I will add it.It's quite clear that I'm making this up on the fly here.Official player classifications will be determined by ESPN, unless someone has a more accurate source.
Fixture list
Click on the team in question, and click on "Squad". Whatever the player is listed at is how he will be treated in the Cup - unless someone has a better option before Tuesday.
Any response?I texted Jmon
as a night person, i really wish we could just keep drafting. if a person isn't here or doesn't respond, no penalty until whatever time you decide tomorrow morning. between lists and people being available at night i bet you could roll through round two before tomorrow morning.Jmon OTC until 6:39 PM ETClock runs until 8 PM, in case you guys had forgotten.

JMon is usually around, so this is a surprise.I thought JMon348 had a Kobe phone that rang whenever someone posted something less then stellar about Mr. Bryant in the LeBron/Kobe thread. Sadly, he is absent there as well.
That was one of the two guys I needed to be there on the turn to make the trade. I'll see if I can find someone else worthy.
Do you mean knockout round? If not, I'm confused.Rules:
Roster size
NOTE: rosters are capped at 3 players for any given team.
Group stage:
2 Goalkeepers
6 Defenders
6 Midfielders
4 Strikers
NO BENCH PLAYERS
Knockout stage rosters:
1 Goalkeeper
4 Defenders
4 Midfielders
2 Strikers
NO BENCH PLAYERS
If the group stage begins and your team has more than 11 players, you must choose to release as many players as needed to get to 11. This must be done BEFORE the waiver period.

He was my 1.1. Odds makers have him in the second tier of favorites for the Golden Boot, but I think he should be the co-favorite with Villa (and maybe Messi). Everything Brazil does is designed to funnel the scoring chances to him. And he was a machine in qualifying and the Confed Cup.
7AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is very West Coast friendly is it?We can keep picking after the clock stops at 8 PM. But the clock will not restart until 10 AM tomorrow morning.
Ill be here all night. Got some work to do...CEO is a fulltime job.

Steal.Almost took him instead of Kaka. My thinking was that Kaka's status as a MF would be an advantage. Not sure I made the right choice.
Only player I woulda picked over Fabiano was Rooney...mainly cause he looks like he would steal your grilled cheese sandwich, bang your girlfriend, then go out and win a futbol game for you.LOVE HIM

Technically Jmon, but I am on the clock.Who is up?
Until when?Technically Jmon, but I am on the clock.Who is up?
Kaka was the player who I thought was a reach. With that said, I wrote that without remembering that Kaka played very well in the Confederations Cup. I'm pretty much the charter member of the Kaka is overrated club. I just don't think he's one of the best 10 players in the world right now, and I don't think he has been for over 2 years. But a lot of that opinion is based on his club form. Someone else mentioned that he's a different player with Brazil. On reflection, I'm not convinced he's a bigger reach than Torres when you consider El Nino's injury problems and his uneven performances with the national team.Steal.Almost took him instead of Kaka. Almost bough a KaKa jersey the other day....Pitched the idea of naming my second son KaKa....Besides Adam Johnson, he is my favorite player.Steal.Almost took him instead of Kaka. My thinking was that Kaka's status as a MF would be an advantage. Not sure I made the right choice.
7:41I feel bad skipping Jmon, but my pick will be in at 7:41 if his isn't. I texted him again with no response - hopefully he left me the correct phone number, cause I've checked like 8 times to make sure it's the right numberUntil when?Technically Jmon, but I am on the clock.Who is up?

I doubt he'll score as many goals as some of the guys he was drafted around, but he'll have more assists. Plus, he gets more points for goals as a MF and gets a point for each shutout. Most importantly, playing for Brazil gives him the best chance to play the most games possible. I think he'll be right in the mix for most points scored.Kaka was the player who I thought was a reach. I think by that criteria, I probably would have preferred Xavi. Refresh my memory. Does Kaka generally take Brazil's PK's or other set pieces?I doubt he'll score as many goals as some of the guys he was drafted around, but he'll have more assists. PKs, yes. FKs, depends on the area. Not as a rule, no.I think by that criteria, I probably would have preferred Xavi. Refresh my memory. i was torn between xavi and sneijder.1.13 - Wesley Sneijder, MF, Netherlands
Well, then that's a plus. That's probably at least 2 goals right there.PKs, yes. FKs, depends on the area. Not as a rule, no.I think by that criteria, I probably would have preferred Xavi.
