***Official Yankees vs. Tigers ALDS Thread *** (1 Viewer)

What a gutless team, a team that includes a lineup made up of ALL All-Stars! Not one, two, three or four players but ALL OF THEM and they are going to lose three in a row?!WOW!
At least our team choked on the main stage in primetime. Your team is like the skank stripper working the lunch shift. And why Bruney for one out, why?

With a payroll like the Yanks have, I expect them to not lose three in a row to the Tigers. Geez, if you buy your entire lineup of All-Stars you should NEVER EVER lose three in a row. Have a nice offseason guy. :bye:FYI: At least my team has been to the WS last :bye:

I love the Arod is not a winner. Just like Marino was not a winner, Peyton Manning not a winner, Ernie Banks not a winner . . . etc. This is a TEAM sport. The Yanks aren't losing solely because of Arod, they are losing becuase their total roster is not playing well, save for a couple players.Arod is going to finish his career as the best baseball player of All Time, and I am a Red Sox fan stating this, no bias here.
Babe Ruth will always wear that crown pal. And as long as those people are alive who watched A-Rod play live, that myth will never gain traction.
Thanks for your opinion, pal.
Gotta admit... that was a pretty strange statement for a Red Sox fan, or anyone, to make.
Why?Alex Rodriguez is 31 years old.If he keeps his pace up, he will have 3000 hits, 700 home runs, and 2000 rbis by the time he is 40. How is that a strange statement?

You think A-rod would trade those inflated numbers for a sniff at a WS..

Best baseball player ever? He's not even better than Pujols. Simmer down there, sparky. And the extra point is...GOOD!
Care to compare their all time stats? Pujols is unbelievable, the best hitter in the game today. We are talking about careers, so try to keep up sparky.
Pujols' stats through six seasons are .332/.419/.629. A-Rod's numbers through 11 full seasons are .305/.386/.573. When both of their careers are finished, barring significant injury Pujols will have had the better career. Stop being stupid. You are embarrassing yourself.

They also received one of the most memorable ### whippings in WS history. I'd be embarrassed to say anything if I were an ASTURDS fan in this thread. They looked like a Double A team last year in the Series.

I wonder if the same people who throw out meaningless regular season stats are also going to throw out MEANINGFUL postseason stats as well on ARod...

Pace. :lmao: Watch the game and forget about "pace." A-Rod will never be anything but the most destructive contract of all time.

Who has the better stats over their career right now?

Too bad Theo came up a little short two years ago trying to get ARod, or else you'd be swinging from his nutsack.
Doubt it. I would probably be bashing him even louder than I am right now. Not a Homer for Homer's stake. I can also appreciate a difference between fantasy baseball and the actual game.

Other than the name, what made everyone think the Yankees were a heavy favorite this year. Half of their All Star lineup are injury ridden, on the downside of their career, or A-Rod. The pitching staff from #3 starter to set up man isn't close to past Yankee teams.

The Yankees are a very good team that is losing to another very good team who received lights out pitching at the right time (a la White Sox last year).

I don't see why not. The A-Rod haters always discard his postseason stats from Seattle, which were very good.

ARod is definitely the best player to have up in the 9th inning of a 12-run rout of the Royals in June. Wouldn't take anyone over him. NOBODY.

Care to compare how many WS titles the NYY have to the Asturds? Actually the Devil Rays have the same number IIRC. :bye:

Ok, now add the other postseason games and what'cha got on him? I think it proves that regular season stats vs. so many teams who stink really means little or nothing IMO.

Sorry, I was trying to give you a Something of All Time to make you feel better.Anyway, A-Rod's best years are behind him and "pace" means nothing to me. If it did, I'd agree with the Pujolsians.

My bad. I thought we were talking home runs, rbis, runs, over a career. If not, then I need to start jumping player like Ryan Howard way ahead of Arod. Thanks, I need to get my glasses cleaned.

Double play ball from A Rod would be icing on the cake.
Missed it by a foot.I hope he does get traded on the offseason. Guy gets no credit and constantly takes it on the chin. Trade him to a team that will let him move back to shortstop where he belongs. He is not a good fit in NY and I don't see it getting any better for him there.
