***Official Yankees vs. Tigers ALDS Thread *** (1 Viewer)

This just in,,,,

The Detroit Mascot, Tiggy, came from a broken home. His father was forced to leave the National Zoo before his birth. Tiggy was then shipped halfway across the country to Detroit. His father was later shot dead after escaping and trying to make it to Detroit to see his son for the first time.

 
Also, smart move taking Bonderman out. He is out of gas. Why F' with just about a sure thing. Plus, they will need him in the next series.

 
Congrats to all Detroit fans and backers (this means you Capella, and I guess you too Marshall).

Serves me right for betting on the Yankees. :bag: Damn I hate the Yankees.

See - that Tigers dugout just now; with everyone happy and pumped and wanting to be the first to congratulate the pitcher that just pitched a great game and who can taste victory and likes it and doesn't find it as bland as all the other times they've tasted it? See that?

THAT'S a baseball team.

This Yankees team isn't playing like a baseball team. They deserve to lose, but even more then that, the Tigers deserve to win.

He was rushed to the majors because the Tigers really didn't have anything else at the time, and he obviously got his ### handed to him. Gotta credit the guy for sticking with it and not becoming Jeff Weaver.

Bonderman was rushed to the majors much like that whole Twins team a few years back. When they essentially had a AA team that grew into a division contender in a couple years.

I get your point but this Yankees team hasnt tasted victory as much as you infer. The only winners and links to the WS championships are Jeter, Rivera and Bernie Williams. Maybe you include Posada but I dont think of him as being clutch.Giambi, ARod, Sheffield and Abreu are losers and have never won a thing. Damon won with the Red Sox but this is his first year with the Yankees. Mussina has never won anything. The Unit won with the Diamondbacks but not with the Yankees.This is a reversal for me because I thought the Yankees would win this series.
 
Sincere congrats to the Tigers, and especially Leyland, who seems legitmately like a great guy. He won me over with the stopping for God Bless America while arguing and my long term respect went to love for the guy. With that pen and their momentum, I really like them to win the World Series, especially if Rogers can keep his velocity in the 90's and throw the change for strikes.

Does Robertson start game one of the ALCS or was he in the right place at the right time?

Kalamazoo Public Schools now has a program called The Promise. If you graduate from KPS your college tuition is paid for.

Many anonymous donors to it, but you can be sure that Jeets was a major donor.

No offense to the teams like the Yankees, Patriots, or the 90's Bulls, but I love when unexpected teams act like a kid in a candy store when they win.

Can we not do the English thing and shorten everyone's name, even if it's only two syllables? It's not like "Jeter" is "Kozlowpuskiwieckiecz."

It's hard not to root for a team like the Tigers. They're actually a team and not a freak show like the Yankees.

Props to them and their fans. Great job by Leyland. :thumbup:
