Guillen baited him there, not cool at all. Still Weaver can't let a guy like Guillen get in his head and it shows he's still extremely immature.
What happened? I saw the homerun, but nothing else.Guillen baited him there, not cool at all. Still Weaver can't let a guy like Guillen get in his head and it shows he's still extremely immature.
I just find it hard to believe Guillen did it out of the blue. I have to wonder if something led to this. Also, it was very smart of Avila to not do anything. I'm sure he expected that.Guillen baited him there, not cool at all. Still Weaver can't let a guy like Guillen get in his head and it shows he's still extremely immature.
Apparently Weaver said something to Maggs after he hit a HR earlier in the game and Guillen responded in kind by standing at home plate after he went yard. Then Weaver threw it at Avila's head. That was an error. Way to try to bunt to get on Anaheim, stay classy. What happened? I saw the homerun, but nothing else.Guillen baited him there, not cool at all. This is the lamest thing. Bunting there is totally legit. It is still a ball game at 3-0. They need baserunners. And hey, look at that, he's on 2nd base.Way to try to bunt to get on Anaheim, stay classy.
This is one of those times when "baseball etiquette" can eat my balls. The Angels are down by 3 runs and they need base runners. Pretty sure they don't care about Verlander's no-hit bid.Way to try to bunt to get on Anaheim, stay classy.

You're a tool.I hope this guy tries to bunt too.

If it were a perfect game and the Tigers had a few more runs, okay, no bunting. But suddenly it's 3 -2. Good move by the Angels to try and score some runs.Yea, that was a terrible run down. You never want the pitcher taking any part in it.That's Kelly and Cabrera's fault. Kelly should have thrown to first and Cabrera should have covered home. He would have got through the 8th.
Weaver definitely said something to maggs after his HR. Then when Maggs flew out the next time, he walked near the mound and they had words. Lot of blame to go around but it seems Weaver started it and Carlos Guillen ended it.Apparently Weaver said something to Maggs after he hit a HR earlier in the game and Guillen responded in kind by standing at home plate after he went yard. Are you blaming Verlander? Really? What game are you watching?Tigers lost their last world series largely due to the fact their pitchers are clueless in the field.
I think he also said something to Cabrera. I knew something had to have happened to make Guillen do that. And I'm glad he did.Weaver definitely said something to maggs after his HR. Well, he did launch a ball into right field on the bunt. Are you blaming Verlander? Really? What game are you watching?Tigers lost their last world series largely due to the fact their pitchers are clueless in the field.
You do realize that bunt was in response to the Weaver/Guillen exchange right? Aybar could have bunted earlier in the game, so could have the rest of the team but they didn't. Call it however you want, but that bunt is something teams just don't do. As far as Verlander fielding it, #### happens. He's not a terrible fielder.Well, he did launch a ball into right field on the bunt. Are you blaming Verlander? Really? just like his brother.Kelly messed up the no hitter today - 3 run lead and Verlander cruising along. Take the out. It's pretty simple.Guillen baited him there, not cool at all. Still Weaver can't let a guy like Guillen get in his head and it shows he's still extremely immature.
Since when is he an upgrade over anyone else on the roster for defensive purposes?
It was more de ja vu moment, remembering pitchers throwing the ball all over the place. Too much blame to go around that inning to pin it on one person. Defense is going to do the Tigers in if they do make the playoffs. You don't get away with those kind of mistakes in the post season. Are you blaming Verlander? Really? There were a lot of brain dead decisions that inning with the outfielder throwing the ball home on the 2nd run when he had no chance of getting the runner, and the ball not being cut off so the tying run was able to get to second.
No chance? It was about as close of a play is there is. In fact, he may have actually been out.Yes it is.Fister under contract until 2014 is nice.
We hope it is.Yes it is.Fister under contract until 2014 is nice.

I was not Maggs it was Guillen. He posed for a bit, then as he was staring at Weaver he stuck his arm out to drop his bat and then started a sideways gallup/shuffle down the baseline. A lot of talking back and forth on that too. I probably would have plunked the next guy too, but not thrown one head high.So Leyland said Weaver was mad because he thought Maggs was showing him up, even though we all know Maggs doesn't do that. He was watching to see if the ball was staying fair. Yeah Raburn as a defensive replacement over Boesch is strange and that's the second time he's done it this week.
The Guillen thing is what finally led to fireworks. But Weaver first got mad and started chirping after the Maggs homer. Magglio was watching to see if it would stay fair and Weaver took exception to it. That was the initial incident.I was not Maggs it was Guillen. It was definitely Maggs. They showed how it all unfolded on MLBN and everyone confirmed in past game comments.Weaver gets angry at Maggs because he didn't run after the HR (he was looking to see if it would stay fair)Weaver then yelled at Cabrera because Maggs didn't runMaggs then hit a flyball out and jogged by the pitcher's mound and they exchanged pleasantries.Guillen hits HR and stands there and then says something to Weaver and Weaver yells backWeaver complains to ump, both teams get warnedWeaver throws at Avila's headI was not Maggs it was Guillen. Watched them go over it on MLBN, they were all over Weaver getting all nuts about Maggs, who did a whole lot of nothing. Big deal, he leaned to see if it was going to be fair. Relax Weaver.Loved the Guillen HR trot. Sticking up for his own. And I don't really care what any Angels say. It could lend toward team unity in Detroit's clubhouse and I like that.Aybar's bunt was bush. Come on Scoscia, you're better than that....go get your pitcher his pacifier and play the game like men.'igbomb said:The Guillen thing is what finally led to fireworks. All of you unwritten rule #####es need to mouth it. It was obvious that it was done to piss them off, but that bunt got them back in the game. It was done to piss them off, otherwise Scioscia would have never done it. You know why? Because it's a #### move, and if this had happened to your ####tacular team we would have heard the same #####ing. Kelly lost the no hitter in the end though, should have just thrown the damn ball to first. Brandon Inge would have thrown it to first, miss the guy already. All of you unwritten rule #####es need to mouth it.
