Officially Serious Hillary Clinton Scandal? FBI Investigation. WaPo. (1 Viewer)

You had to know something was up when the Biden rumors started.

I must be crazy, because I read the article and I don't see that anyone is being accused of any wrongdoing. I read it as the FBI investigating whether there were data breaches/security holes.
This is what the article actually says:

At this point, the probe is preliminary and is focused on ensuring the proper handling of classified material.
I don't take that to mean how it's being handled now only, but also handling going back in time.

So for example, again:

Responsibility for setting up and maintaining the server that handled personal e-mail communications for Bill and Hillary Clinton passed through a number of different hands, starting with Clinton staffers with limited training in computer security and eventually expanding to Platte River.
When was "eventually"?

In 2013, the Clintons hired Platte River to maintain the data.
Well Hillary left State on 2/1/13. So that would mean guess who was doing the handling before then?

Again:

Clinton has said she handled her e-mail this way for the convenience of carrying just one phone.
I also think this part is interesting.

Nick Merrill, a spokesman for Clinton’s campaign, declined to comment on the FBI’s actions. He noted that Clinton has called repeatedly for the State Department to release her e-mails to the public, a process that is ongoing.

In a statement, Merrill said that Clinton “did not send nor receive any emails that were marked classified at the time. We want to ensure that appropriate procedures are followed as these emails are reviewed while not unduly delaying the release of her emails. We want that to happen as quickly and as transparently as possible.”
That's smart. For once the Hillary and the campaign have finally decided to say nothing.

Note that Merrill has indicated this is strictly a debate about an inter-agency squabble about how to mark documents when actually the FBI is not involved in that at all at least not as to this aspect.

The wording of "handling" and "in connection with" are really important. Track that language. It has zero to do with how documents are marked when sent. The "handling" term refers to employees handling unmarked documents in an authorized manner based on how they might be classified later.

Timing, timing. A federal court also just ordered Hillary to swear in an affidavit that must be filed by Friday (though as to one very particular issue) that she has produced everything past or present on the issue at play in that court.

Elizabeth Warren.

Let's do this.
Are there any significant differences in opinion between Warren and Sanders?
I haven't heard Sanders refer to a war on women's health and a Republican conspiracy when asked about PP selling baby body parts.

Pretty dishonest response by Warren.
Yeah. Call me old fashioned, but women should be at home in the kitchen and not behind a podium talking about politics.

The referral did not accuse Clinton of any wrongdoing, and the two officials said Tuesday that the FBI is not targeting her.
It's just a slow day at the FBI, so they decided to check in on somebody who they're sure is all on the up and up. They do this all the time. Nothing to see here.
They decided to check on the custody measures for maintaining the email. That seems both prudent and completely consistent with the statement that Clinton isn't a target.
Well thank god someone finally got around to checking the security of Hillary's emails.

Good to see Tim is already fantasizing about Hilary being innocent
Fantasizing? You put up $100, and I'll give you 5 to 1 odds she is never indicted or officially charged with any wrongdoing whatsoever with regard to this whole email thing.
:lmao:
Of course you don't want to make that bet because you know that nothing is going to come of this. So how am I fantasizing?
He doesn't want to make that bet because never being indicted or officially charged <> being innocent (besides the absurdity with betting strangers on the interwebs in the first place).
Online poker down?

Everyone including Slapdash knows nothing will come of this, hence him being unwilling to put down money at any odds.
:lmao:

Yes, actually it is.

Again, nothing will come of this <> she is innocent. That shouldn't be the least bit controversial.
