One thing I haven't read about on this board now that Brown is done is whether or not Ricky Williams will have an impact on the Dolphins this year. Last I heard he was applying for reinstatment and it would be up to the Dolphins to decide if they wanted him, or if they wanted to cut him. There was some speculation on this board weeks ago that there were teams out there who may have wanted his services, but now that Brown is gone does Miami plug him into the lineup?

Didn't he fail another drug test? I don't think Ricky really wants to play again. He'll keep failing drug tests so he can stay off the field and still not breach his contract and have to repay that $$$.

I thought he applied for reinstatement around Oct 1 but the league can take up to six weeks or something like to consider the application.

-- Ricky Williams Applies for Reinstatement --

Mon Oct 1, 2007 --from FFMastermind.com

AP reports suspended RB Ricky Williams applied for NFL reinstatement Monday, his agent said. "Ricky is extremely excited about the prospect of playing in the NFL again and hopeful for a positive response," his agent Leigh Steinberg said. Williams has played in only 12 NFL games since the start of the 2004 season, but rushed for 3,225 yards in 2002-03. His current suspension began in April 2006 after he violated the league's drug policy for the fourth time. He tested positive for marijuana this April, again delaying his return. Williams remains under contract with Miami, where he won the NFL rushing title in 2002. But new HC Cam Cameron has not indicated whether he wants Williams to stay with the Dolphins, who fell to 0-4 Sunday. "That's ultimately their decision," Steinberg said. "We've had no contact with them." The NFL declined comment, saying it had not received official notification yet from Williams.

I haven't seen any updates on this situation since October 1st but I can bet that Cam Cameron is going to want Ricky to stay with the Dolphins now.
