floss, brush, mouthwash... same results at a fraction of the cost and douchbaggery
any new things on the market for those who hate to floss?

i use one myself and love it.

You will have to replace the tip ($2) every year and if you have hard water you'll need to soak the entire contraption in vinegar once a year to clean out deposits.
Got one of these a few days ago based on this recommendation (came with 2 tips, added 2 more to my order). Tickles at first but that goes away after a few uses. It's easily going to turn me in to a daily rather than weekly flosser.

How long do you floss during each session? Is it a slow pass across the gum line, or a pause at each gap between teeth for a few seconds routine?
pause at each gap between teeth for a bit (both sides of the tooth - inside and out)

I can't imagine it takes me over 90-120 seconds. I do it while I have my conditioner on my hair which says it should sit in the hair for 2-3 min.

it definitely tickles and feels weird at first.. some people can't get past that (similar sensation as an electric toothbrush vs. manual) if you can get past it, it works great.

You'll still want to floss after meals that get stuff stuck in your teeth (corn, popcorn, some meats) but it has done a good job for me and for the people i've recommended it to that took my advice.

Gun to my head it's probably not as good as flossing, but it's far better than doing nothing which is what most people do.

The term is "metrosexual."

Ah, gotcha. Glad I didn't know I shouldn't be doing that, might never have started. I'm a lot further from being a metrosexual than my wife would like, but maybe I can consider myself a hair metrosexual :fro:
